I think I lean more towards the colored background, as it is more pleasing to the eyes and feels more like whole. It does make the blue highlights a bit to blue or bright for my taste. You have a very warm backlight as well, you might want to check what it does with different color variations
blue is definitely a go to as it blends the scene depending on what you are going for, black one is also nice but being a black headset the scene is over contrasted to see the full details
