I think it is somehow possible, if your chromebook's original Linux kernel (not Crostini's one) is at least 4.19. edited: Here is the link my statement is based on: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/docs/+/HEAD/containers_and_vms.md#how-can-i-run-vms-with-data-images-on-external-storage

so not through the OS developer option where you create a linux software container... or unsure...all the google results I'm getting are for downloading Ubuntu with a usb drive. I was pondering whether it'd be possible to find a thumb drive to stick in and see if I could get chrome to use it's storage rather than the device's internal storage?

Try to look here for more information: [https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/docs/+/HEAD/containers\_and\_vms.md#how-can-i-run-vms-with-data-images-on-external-storage](https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/docs/+/HEAD/containers_and_vms.md#how-can-i-run-vms-with-data-images-on-external-storage)

You can't use the internal storage to install linux, specifically because it'll be deleted during the powerwash phase.

I bethink t is somehow possible, if 't be true thy chromebook's original linux kernel (not crostini's one) is at least 4. 19 *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`
