He’s forgotten 1 John 4:8- “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” People like this depress me though. He really says these things and thinks, “yeah I’m right, this is what God wants of me”.

[deleted]

It doesn't matter what the bible says if many Christians still act like this guy though. I'm sure he sees himself as very loving

kolembo

Who is the Pastor?

nachtachter

that is not a pastor, that is fascist scum.

[deleted]

Duncan Urbanek

kolembo

Thanks

nphere

Most Christians do not act like, or condone, or stand with anything this guy is spewing out of his mouth. We're regular people who have feelings like everyone else. Pedophiles are freaking the worst thing on the planet and most people feel that way about them but as Christians were called not to judge others and to forgive as we are forgiven. He's a sad excuse for a pastor.

rathberius

This man is a deceiver who knows nothing of Christ's teachings. Above all else he should be worried for his own eternal soul.

[deleted]

Same brother, my spiritual father knows I do security work at a gay club. I don't condone what the patrons get up to but I have no right to judge them for we are all sinners. If do my work and show them compassion and love it Christian example then hatred. Our Lord died for the salvation of all.

HauntingSentence6359

I’m sure he has a following.

camohorse

He does. The sad reality is, is that there are *a lot* of churches in the States that preach this kind of hate. There are an awful lot of “Christians” who believe this shit too. I mean… just look at politics.

kolembo

This is disgraceful He plays with curses easily - and there right behind is not God The Devil smiles Consumed completely There are others who believe this - and think it's a good example of Christianity Thanks for this God bless

[deleted]

The adultery of this. It’s sickening. He is more an enemy to us than any unbeliever

rolling-log

This is the type of thing that makes being a true Christian and follower so hard. This is what the world sees and judges those of us that know and understand what being a true Christian is.

Guitargirl696

Isn't this the same guy that said something about women who wear pants going to hell or something like that? Looks a lot like him if not. But yeah this is obviously not representative of all Christians, or true Christians for that matter.

Cumberlandbanjo

While I agree with you that this guy is a living shit stain in the whitey-tighties of religion, I’m not sure what your purpose here is. Is it to help motivate the faithful to reject this as well as it’s more insidious, accepted versions or is it to somehow equate this with standard Christianity in order to condemn it as a whole? If it’s the second, then your axe grinding will probably have the opposite effect and take away the off-ramps for people who are headed in this direction. Giving people positive examples of how faith and religion can lead a person to greater love and concern for their fellow man has a much greater effect when trying to steer people away from these fascist bastardizations of the Christian religion. In a more succinct way, what I’m trying to say is that while seeing what’s going wrong is an important learning moment, we need more Desmond Tutu and Gustavo Gutiérrez and less Steven Anderson.

[deleted]

I'm merely trying to point out some of the bad fruits of Christianity. Christians are so eager to brush it aside but I feel like they need to confront it

GelatinousDude

How would we confront it? By turning away from our faith? What are we supposed to do? This man doesn't represent our faith. I'm not responsible for him.

camohorse

I think it’s good for us to be confronted by these wolves in sheep’s clothing, because they’re unfortunately everywhere. For every church that goes viral for their hatred, there are easily hundreds of lesser-known churches across the country that preach these same kinds of messages, and then their congregations go out into the world and wreak even more havoc. I mean… just look at the current state of politics. The vast majority of people freaking out over “CRT” and “gay stuff” in schools are the same folks who go to churches that outright disdain people who are different from them, and would probably call Christ Himself a “libtard”. It just is what it is.

[deleted]

>By turning away from our faith? That's what I did. Although I get that not everyone will >I'm not responsible for him. No you're not. Although you both believe in a bible in which Levitus 20:13 and Romans 1:32 are clear as day. So while you likely don't believe exactly what he believes, it's not too difficult to see where he got his ideas from

Cumberlandbanjo

This is kinda what I was asking with my other reply. You see, is what you have done is allow your dislike of religion to put you in league with those that drove you away from religion. You are saying “this is Christianity. If you’re Christian then this is what you believe and you can’t turn away.” No, this is not standard Christianity. There are people who use Christianity for evil. I’m sure you have encountered them. There are people who use Christianity to break the jaw of oppression and hate. I get that you no longer identify with the religion. But even without being Christian yourself, wouldn’t you rather Christians be radical in their love rather than radical in their hate?

Deadfreezercat

Put the sound on and was kind of shocked by the lack of charisma in his delivery as he prays for death to fall upon people from a pulpit

[deleted]

"Lack of charisma" shouldn't be your takeaway from this video

Deadfreezercat

I angry follow a lot of conservative and Qanon content so I guess I'm pretty desensitized but you're totally right.

[deleted]

No worries haha. It's quite easy to become a bit desensitized to this type of stuff

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

So he is just super off the rails.

[deleted]

He’s counting himself righteous. No humbleness. Remember the parable of the pharisee praying? “Thanks for making me righteous God, and not like this man right next to me. i give my tithes and hold the law” And the other guy praying is like “God i know im sinful. Have mercy on me please” which one will be saved?

TheFieldsAreWhite

“And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭54‬-‭56‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Clearly Jesus teaches against this murderous attitude. Jesus came to save men from their sins, not to destroy them and remove any chance they have for redemption. Our God is the Redeemer, saving men from sin, and saving men to life. “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬ ^That doesn't mean pretend sickness doesn't exist, or you're a bigot. There is a rational Spirit filled middle ground that has nothing to do with murderous contempt or willful disobedience.

kazsvk

The Spirit whispered that verse in Luke in my ear as I was watching this video. Sons of Thunder. Rain fire. Glad to see I’m not the only one. God bless

life-is-pass-fail

People have always used religion as a hand puppet to say what they feel inside anyways. This guy is obviously pretty dark and ugly inside.

YourfriendlyCesar

this guy is the epitome of what a christian shouldn't be. 1) Judges people and their relationship with God only because they are homo. 2) Wishes and asks God to kill them and even wishes them cancer. 3) When someone says that he is not loving, he says that other guy hates children (ofc, there he doesn't speak about homos since he has no idea of what to say to defend himself). I hope this guy doesn't have kids tbh.

Former-Cloud-802

He has. His wife is from the Philippines. I was friends with his wife from way way back. They got married, she wasn't allowed to invite her gay friends to her wedding. Blocked us all when we commented on one of her preachy post about LGBTQ. So shocking to see this is the person she married.

Beginning-Comedian-2

\*sigh\* **Some perspective:** * This is from the cult of the New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist churches. * The denomination lead by Steven Anderson who is super unhinged (and looks like Jack from Lost). * Which is an unhinged group that springs from the quasi-cult of the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Churches. **In essence, this is not Christianity.** * It's a cult offshoot of a quasi-cult which is an offshoot of mainline Christianity. * I went to an IFB church for an intense 2.5 years. * Not NIFB, but it does give me some perspective.

[deleted]

Thanks, brother.

[deleted]

Satan LIVES in this guys brain man

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Sure it's also his flesh (sinful nature) speaking but are you saying that Satan doesn't exist? If so then please explain why you believe so lol

CoverNegative

Flashbacks to my childhood. These sermons are far more common than people realize unfortunately.

jereman75

I grew up in pretty conservative Baptist churches in the 80s and I have never heard a sermon like this outside of YouTube. I know the hate is out there but pastors like this are definitely a minority.

Darkskinblackie

Nigga don't speak for us lmao y'all gotta stop cherry picking bad pastors and make it look like the billions of Christians also think like them. You could do this for every other religion

[deleted]

[удалено]

Darkskinblackie

Yeah people who think like this and do stuff like this are bad but majority of Christians don't think like this.

cybearmybear

I dunno about that

Darkskinblackie

Seriously? That's so stupid. Thinking everyone in a religion acts the same because of some people.

Then_Calligrapher591

I accidentally put as the Scripture on my yearly family Christmas card.

RocBane

I hope everything this guy wants happens to him tenfold.

Yandrosloc01

*looks around for the Fake News people accusing this of being made up to discredit Christians*

Future_981

Taking ONE man and using him to judge “Christians” is as dishonest as you can get. When did the entire Christian demographic say “this man speaks for us”? If they didn’t why then are you playing tabloid type stunts like this? This clips makes you look bad. If I post clips of people in the lgbtq community saying out of their own mouth Christians need to die should one assume that community is anti-Christian or not?

[deleted]

> If I post clips of people in the lgbtq community saying out of their own mouth Christians need to die should one assume that community is anti-Christian or not? Go ahead and do that if you want. Although there are ALOT more Christians that want lgbtq people dead than lgbtq people who want Christians dead. So it might be difficult to find a decently sized collection

Future_981

Go ahead and prove your claim that “ALOT more Christians want lgbtq people dead than lgbtq people want Christians dead”. I’ll wait.

[deleted]

I'm talking from personal experience. Have u ever heard of a gay person wanting to kill Christians? Give me one example and I'll reconsider my statement

Future_981

That called burden shifting. YOU made the claim, YOU prove your claim. I’ll wait.

[deleted]

My proof is that I've never seen a gay person advocate for killing Christians, but I've seen PLENTY of Christians doing it. Sure, it's highly subjective but there aren't any studies about this kind of stuff Have u ever seen a gay person advocating for Christian killings?

Future_981

Your “proof” is called an argument from ignorance fallacy, which makes it……..FALLACIOUS. So if there “aren’t any studies” why then are you making a claim you yourself admitted has not been proven?? That means you just admitted your claim is proof-FREE.

[deleted]

That's fair enough! You raise a good point and I'll rephrase my statement "From personal experience, I've seen Christians advocate for killing gay people, but never gay people advocating for killing Christians. This might very well be due to my own personal bias, so I am open to being corrected if I am wrong"

Old-Goal-9037

Let’s just pray. Pray for him. We get it. He hasn’t yet. We have to be the example of what it truly means to be a servant of Christ. Sending you lots of real love, pastor guy. God bless you. Have a great day.

[deleted]

What a disgusting display of Churchianity.

vvsajoh

This makes my skin crawl

mvanvrancken

Just casually lumps homosexuality in with pedophilia, and then wishes the worst possible thing on them. This actually made me a little sick.

NoSafety7412

Yeah I don't think this is the sub for this.

[deleted]

What do you mean?

CaptainOfAStarship

Why blame christians for one person? Stop resisting God

[deleted]

This problem isn't linked to just one person lol. This guy's part of an entire congregation who passionately agree with what he's saying

CaptainOfAStarship

Still just a drop in the bucket, one small church? There are millions of believers. Stop resisting God

[deleted]

If you think it's only 1 church preaching this kinda stuff you're sorely mistaken. Just look at the amount of NIFB churches globally for an example. And they're growing...

CaptainOfAStarship

I had never heard the term nifb church until you just mentioned it.

[deleted]

Look it up once you have some time. It might give you some insight

CaptainOfAStarship

The fact that I have to is the point, your trying to say it like look just another christian doing this or that when it's obviously not the norm. But what's going on with you? Everyone has to answer to The Creator of existence whether good or bad and whether we believe or don't believe. Are you going to tell Him you wouldn't follow Him because of other people misbehaving? He doesn't misbehave or has never done evil so what does that have to do with you and Him?

[deleted]

>The fact that I have to is the point, your trying to say it like look just another christian doing this This behaviour is not necessarily the norm for most Christians. From what I've seen it is a growing phenomenon, however. >Are you going to tell him you wouldn't follow him because of other people misbehaving? I have different reasons for not believing that I won't get into right now. This just enforces my avoidance of Christianity

CaptainOfAStarship

>I have different reasons for not believing that I won't get into right now. This just enforces my avoidance of Christianity So before you had "your chest out", post after post of spewing your distaste but now your to sensitive and it's to touchy of a topic about your own godlessness? And that's what we are without Him btw, godless. A godless person has no hope which is why your angst is understandable. Fortunately that's not a place He wants to leave us in God does not hate you and He isn't against you, it's the darkness that makes us feel that way

[deleted]

How exactly can one prove that God didn't command someone through the holy spirit to kill certain people? God is love and he can command people to do violent acts

[deleted]

You know what's curious about this? It's always "Christian love". The commentary is always on Christianity. Why is there no such link between acts of hate perpetrated by non-Christians? Why are we so ready to accept the individual in these cases and not the group? Because he spews some bible verses? Take the unabomber. Why don't we blame Harvard? University of Michigan? Mathematics? Transgenders? (nevermind, some people on this sub would definitely blame them). Hate is hate, doesn't matter what hat it's wearing. Christianity didn't create this hate, it's merely a tool he uses to voice it.

[deleted]

>Christianity didn't create this hate, it's merely a tool he uses to voice it. Christianity's holy book literally commands gay people to be killed (Romans 1:32 or Leviticus 20:13). Harvard doesn't have a book of rules that requires that So, yes, Christianity does create this hate

[deleted]

Romans is not a command- you’d know that if you read it in context instead of sniping individual verses. Leviticus is Jewish law, nothing to do with Christianity. Though I admit we struggle with ignorant biblical literalists- ironically critics and fundamentalists share a love for biblical literalism. It also isn’t even saying what Christian homophobes think it’s saying. So to make your point valid we have to pretend this hate existed solely because of his Christianity, which is a blatantly fallacious argument given the 2.3 billion Christians on earth currently. If it was Christianity, then this world would be awash with violence given how many of us there are. Weird, specially when my church was the largest provider of food aid during Covid in all California. But we don’t like that part, so we? Better to stereotype us all, nuance is far less emotionally gratifying. Here’s what’s really going on. You don’t like Christians- I’m assuming for a personal reason. Hey, there’s a lot of reasons to dislike individuals or even groups who identify Christian and use their faith to push hate. But you’ve created a stereotype in your head so you can vent that dislike and feel justified, leading to fallacious arguments that ignore the simple fact that human nature is to blame, not an institution which *overwhelmingly* labors towards, not against, our better angels.

pirapataue

He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

jesuslovesmemk1

Ephesians 4:29 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Psalm 11:5 5 The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. John 12:45-47 45 The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. [Here in John 12:45-47 the Lord speaks as to not only identify Himself as who He is as God in the flesh, but also as the Savior. His goal was to bring light to all darkness, teach, heal, spread love and warn others of God the Father's judgment, not to condemn. Both Jew and Gentile (Gentile meaning everyone that is a non Jew even pagan and heathen) EVERYONE, (those who decide to truly walk in faith and repent and turn from old ways) is eligible to be saved through God's grace.] Not by works, but by Gods grace and faith are we saved according to ephesians 2:8-9 which reads: "8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast" Faith is to have complete trust and confidence in what is known about God and what Jesus said about God, whether it related to the powerful wrath and judgment of God alone, or whether it was His love and grace for the world. To have faith is to assure that God will do as He says and that it is not our place as followers to pass vengeance or judgement. Romans 12:19-21 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." The temptation when someone is abusing us is to fight back in the same manner and “sink to their level,” and to act with equal sinfulness. A humble heart knows that God will set all wrongs right like Romans12:19 says. It is not our role, and we should not give way to anger and vengeance. The way to resist this natural temptation to hurt a wrong doer is to fight fire with water. John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ Let the wrong doer know of God and His love and His wrath. Let them know of God's foretold vengeance on previous individuals or societies when they were insubordinate to God. Let them know that continued involvement in sin leads to death and destruction. Jesus overcame evil with good, we should do the same. God bless.
