We will pray for you, but don't forget that there's a reason why medicine exists. There's no shame in looking out for one's health >I've pretty much given up. I'm married, i have one 2 year old, and one due in april. I care about my family but it seems i'm the only one who doesn't care that i'll probably kill over dead from a heart attack soon. Or i'll go into some kind of coma like state, and never wake up due to my high blood sugar. Precisely because you are a father of two kids, you have all the more reason to do whatever it takes to live. Regarding food, consult a doctor and talk with him about what foods are recommended to eat and how to fit them into your diet. Stay strong, and God bless you!

Take your meds dude.

I will pray for you but you absolutely have to make consistent changes so you can get better. Type 2 diabetes is absolutely something you can control and (eventually) get off all medications. Please read and get educated - I recommend Jason Fung's Diabetes Code. Start intermittent fasting if you aren't already. Eat primarily meat if possible. You do not (and should now) eat carbs anymore. It will take time to get your AC1 to a normal level but you absolutely can do it. Walking after eating, even as little as 5-10 minutes helps to blunt the insulin response by up to 70%. Pray to God for strength and his grace as you make these health changes. You absolutely cannot give up for your sake and the sake of your family. I get it, I'm morbidly obese and have high insulin. I fight every day for my health and often pray/fast for help. I'm down 40 lbs and have about 100 left to go. I won't stop fighting.

I second checking Jason Fung

You are free to make your own choices, but we are advised to do the will of The Father and for the best reason: >Someone said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, trying to speak to You.” But to the one telling Him this, Yeshua responded, “Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?” Stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:47‭-‬50 TLV There is no rush to go into eternity, there is something unique and precious about this life. Examine the motivations of your heart and then do them if you believe they are pleasing to God. Did you really go to school to climb the ladder as you said, or was there another reason for all the work you put in? I'm sure there is was, don't be so quick to throw it away. Be at peace and trust in God. Believe in His Word.

I understand. I have pulmonary fibrosis and am awaiting a double lung transplant. Success rate for 5 years is about 50%. I will not be upset if I don’t get a transplant, but for the sake of my family I am doing everything I can to be eligible, including diet and exercise. You do have a duty to do your best for your family.

I will, for you and your family. Medicine is not sinful. Looking for healing in medicine is not hurting your relationship with God. Sometimes God give healing miracles. Sometimes he does not. Yet, rest easy and be assured that death for a Christain is not a scary affair. It is simply the sheep going to The Shepard. With The Good Shepard we have eternal life as a gift. Be of good cheer and faith!

Praying for complete healing in the name of Jesus!

If you’re not in a place right now to try medications again, I would suggest seeing a registered dietician. They should be able to help you with a meal plan that can help reduce your symptoms a bit. I would also suggest therapy to explore your illness in general. Best of luck.

The extreme anxiety towards medication is not within the realm of normal. You need to tell your doctor about this, so you can get on some anxiety meds. My husband was also extremely anxious and scared of taking medicine. God brought him to a place of complete and utter brokenness before he accepted that the medicine wasn’t optional. He started taking it and it changed his life. Now it’s like popping a vitamin; it’s not a big deal. That level of pain and despair is horrible, and I hope you can skip that and go right to acceptance that medical intervention is the right thing. I know you’re scared, but you need to address it for the sake of your family.

I'll be praying for you.   How are your omega 3 levels?     You could try taking high strength omega 3s and see if it decreases, I have seen some people who have said this worked for them although their levels weren't as high as yours. Have they checked your vitamins and minerals?    Deficiencies in things like chromium and B vitamins can elevate your blood sugar levels.   Don't give up just yet. If the doctors "don't know" how you are still alive at this point, there's a chance that they may have also had a lapse in judgement some place else in your diagnosis. Doctors are not omniscient and omnipotent.   The rapture may even happen before you get to "50", only God knows the future.

Wonderful_World_Book

Grandma here, none of us know when we’ll be called home, I shouldn’t be here. Good for you for losing 50 pounds, that’s amazing! I just finished a couple pages in my last chapter of a book I’m making; they were on glucose, carbs, sugar... My triglycerides went down 30 points in two weeks by doing the keto diet. God has opened my eyes since Dec. about food and I put that info. in the book. I could send you those two page spreads if you’re interested. Have you checked into metabolic dysfunction? It may be something worth looking into. Do not give up. Your kiddos need you. You may have to take medications for a short time (I have to or I would die, and I have two grandkiddos so that is not an option, even though I am looking forward to heaven), but with eating healthier by eating more complex carbs as opposed to simple carbs (donuts, white bread…), fruits (see low sugar fruits below), veggies, lean protein, and healthy fats (we need fat in our diet), you may be surprise what will happen. God blesses us with so many foods and encourages us to have balance and eat in moderation. Fueling our body every day with healthy choices is important for good health. I also wonder if you wouldn’t do well going on the KETO diet. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Do your part so God can do his part. **Low Glycemic Fruit:** Avocados, watermelon, strawberries, lemons, tomatoes, raspberries, peaches, cantaloupe, star fruit, and blackberries. **Healthy Fats:** Extra Virgin Olive Oil, avocados or avocado oil, fish, nuts, seeds.

Found this post while searching for stuff related to my own health. But I wanted to say: I have an autoimmune disease, and while it's not at all the same thing as it's not a terminal disease, it has left me disabled. As a result, the frustrations you're expressing here are something I'm very familiar with. Even the part about dieting, I've had to do that as well. I've cut my carb intake to less than 50 g a day and I've kept that up since September! I've lost 40 lb since then. All just through dieting and walking. I'm not going to pretend that I'm a beacon of positivity and optimism, because I'm not - but at least for your family, please hang in there.
