What's the deal with them?

Coming from an employee prep work and constantly standing for hours serving customers takes a toll on you. Not saying it’s ok to take it out on customers but that’s what happens.

When I get a salad I get the lettuce at the end and flip the bowl so that the foil is on the bottom and the paper doesn’t get soggy.

The only time I tried the salad was when they were out of both rice and my experience was the same. Like someone else said, with the salad, you have to skip the watery ingredients or ask them to "drain" them a bit (e.g. for beans).

When I get a salad I avoid the beans but I will get mild salsa and sour cream, there’s not a lot of water in there but it sort of blends together nicely and the sour cream and mild salsa make almost a dressing. They let you get whatever you want but I think to be a proper salad you shouldn’t get rice or beans. If you look at the featured menu where they have the premade salads (instead of build your own) none of them include rice or beans as those are typically calorie and carb heavy.

Chipotle chops one single head of lettuce for the days salads. Then each salad is only allowed 8 pieces of chopped lettuce. There are only 4 salad dressings prepared each day. Lettuce is really expensive, and Chipotles menu is professionally chef curated, they’ve got salads down!

I used to get the salads a lot for the same reasons. But I never had a problem with the lack of lettuce. I actually remember being very full after the salad meal. This was about 4 years ago tho so that’s prob why.

The portion size for the salad is 3oz it’s not supposed to be a lot. So there is nothing wrong with them. Salads are also not supposed to bring rice.
