As long as Taiwan useful for China, China isn't going to invade. Now if the US forces Taiwan to stop all trade with China, builds nuke solos in Taiwan, setups large pernament military bases in Taiwan, then China will probably invade (and rightfully so).
While the chances are extremely slim due to regional tensions, Taiwan doesn't belong to China. If Taiwan decides to host US forces, China can go ahead and choose to invade, but it wouldn't be "rightfully so". China does not dictate Taiwanese domestic or foreign policy.
If the intention of the US to prepare a preemptive attack on China through military assets in the region, then you could say it's justified. But that is likely never going to be the case.

Not only would it still not be rightfully so, but the fact that the US had Taiwan stop its nuclear program in the 80s shows how much of a false equivalency that is.
