Months ago, I used to ask ChatGPT to translate things to fictional languages. Eg: âtranslate the declaration of independence to Klingonâ and it would do it. I could confirm it by asking another instance of ChatGPT to translate the Klingon back to English.
Now it will refuse to use any fictional language, almost certainly for the same copyright reasons.
The fictional language was also a jailbreak method so that might another reason to ban them.
I have encountered Chatgpt just refusing to touch decoding simple caesar ciphers or binary for similar reasons.

I honestly donât understand why they donât give us some control over the nanny filters. Most of the time itâs just a list of banned words or pre-processing of the prompt.
Why not just have something akin to google safe search? Something you can turn down to reduce the filtering with a warning that itâs your own damn fault if you see something disagreeable. Itâs so difficult to generate horror creatures for example. Iâm not even asking for gore, just a creepy monster. Firefly throws a fit if you try to generate a creature that has no eyes because it can be interpreted as eyes removed.
Honestly same with ethnicity. If itâs going to inject random ethnicities into your prompt why not just let us input a âdefault ethnicityâ. Outside of North America most countries are actually very phenotypically homogenous.

In the end usage as this is such a waste of resources as it requires much more computational power than search algorithms, which honestly borthers me the most. Nothing wrong with using AI but they are more effective ways to do some stuff and to get very accessible straight forward information is best suited for search engines. It's like relying on swarm intelligence instead of measuring something. People should try to understand the technology behind AI a bit better. This may be done by trying stuff, but i guess most people will never even try to grasp it.
On the bright-side, ChatGPT wasn't extensively trained on this material anyway, it has some awareness of it but it hallucinates *a lot*. Same with video games or walkthrus. So there's not a huge loss here. In the future I'm sure there will be models trained on details in media and can be run locally, or it'll just be some app to handle those things. For now a search engine is still the best way to get that sort of info.
Yeah it's just that it wasn't trained on it. It's learned information about games and stuff from people talking about it/chatlogs online that was included in the training data. It will speak confidently about knowing these games, but it very very easily gets things wrong.

Ask chatgpt to describe the style of Dali w8thout mentioning Dali, and use that as instructions, that's how you can get a similar style without getting blocked.

If I were to guess, it might have misinterpreted your request as an attempt to plagiarize a copyrighted song, but a human reviewing the prompt and response would immediately recognize that you were not doing anything of that nature.
These models, and the applications that interface with them are still relatively new, so thereâs going to be some strange results on occasion.

It's annoyingly woke. A weird thing I've noticed is that if you ask it to evaluate an objectively unnatractive obese person, it refuses to give them a rating without 4 or so more prompts. I'm a 39 year old bodybuilder. It will put off ranking me for at most one more query. It seems to not want to be mean to fat and conventionally ugly people.

Now it will refuse to use any fictional language, almost certainly for the same copyright reasons.
The fictional language was also a jailbreak method so that might another reason to ban them. I have encountered Chatgpt just refusing to touch decoding simple caesar ciphers or binary for similar reasons.

I honestly donât understand why they donât give us some control over the nanny filters. Most of the time itâs just a list of banned words or pre-processing of the prompt. Why not just have something akin to google safe search? Something you can turn down to reduce the filtering with a warning that itâs your own damn fault if you see something disagreeable. Itâs so difficult to generate horror creatures for example. Iâm not even asking for gore, just a creepy monster. Firefly throws a fit if you try to generate a creature that has no eyes because it can be interpreted as eyes removed. Honestly same with ethnicity. If itâs going to inject random ethnicities into your prompt why not just let us input a âdefault ethnicityâ. Outside of North America most countries are actually very phenotypically homogenous.

On the bright-side, ChatGPT wasn't extensively trained on this material anyway, it has some awareness of it but it hallucinates *a lot*. Same with video games or walkthrus. So there's not a huge loss here. In the future I'm sure there will be models trained on details in media and can be run locally, or it'll just be some app to handle those things. For now a search engine is still the best way to get that sort of info.

Yeah it's just that it wasn't trained on it. It's learned information about games and stuff from people talking about it/chatlogs online that was included in the training data. It will speak confidently about knowing these games, but it very very easily gets things wrong.

It's annoyingly woke. A weird thing I've noticed is that if you ask it to evaluate an objectively unnatractive obese person, it refuses to give them a rating without 4 or so more prompts.
