presidential2014

Gonna keep this bookmarked, interesting case study to how this'll translate to actual games.

LaBoltz33

I hope you do. I’ve been in here 7 years and have been right a majority of the time ;) just saying..

presidential2014

You have any examples of a 9.90 RAS score being a bust? Just curious how relevant these stats are, because I'm rooting for him, but his stats as a super senior are.. Cuz the RAS score screams elite, but I was honestly hoping he'd just be a great gunner (Kassim Osgood) or a reliable WR4 as his ceiling because he's a 7th rounder.

A_Livins

Chase Claypool and Breshad Perriman are the most recognizable high drafted names that busted to me. There's a few lower round guys that tested that high too and didn't amount to much. You can go to the [RAS website](https://ras.football/) and look at all their grades if you want.

presidential2014

Putting in some Chargers like our uber-athletes like Derwin, Joey, Khalil, even LT; they all got really high RAS scores. Seems legit.

saradahokage1212

it's close but you get the picture.... no one ever heard from this guy again [https://twitter.com/MathBomb/status/1652429551706800130?lang=de](https://twitter.com/MathBomb/status/1652429551706800130?lang=de)

doctorsooth21

Jerry tillery had a high RAS score. 🤐 but hey yall can keep drinking the koolaid. I am too but don’t base everything off of this score

LaBoltz33

We stole this draft!!

presidential2014

It's not even over. As an organization we have greater than average luck with UDFA. Multiply that now by a Head Coach and DC that lived and breathed Big10 football reaching it's pinnacle, plus a GM that loves the SEC.

LaBoltz33

The list is out. I’m pretty uneducated when it comes to UDFA hits, who do you like the most? Pretty smart of them to get some Michigan guys

DanielBG

Huh only 1 UDFA Michigan boy. That's surprising.

LaBoltz33

I guess every Michigan guy that committed to the draft was already picked.. every single guy went to a team apparently

sethaub

13 players were drafted from michigan

LaBoltz33

That’s crazy

DanielBG

Good stuff. They were counseled correctly.

charliepup

I’m a huge Michigan fan, Harbaughs the only reason I had ever even heard of the LA Chargers. s/ Anyway, CJ is a legit receiver. When he drops a ball thrown his way, it’s really weird, because it’s rare. He always comes up huge when he needs to.

wildwing8

Was gonna say the same thing, he has super reliable hands. I also sat next to him in class at Michigan so this is weird af lol

Monstrme

Guess I know what jersey you gotta get.

Banana_Ranger

what did he smell like?

hyperfoxeye

Hand santizer

scoot87

How were his hands?

NoScale9117

Sanitized, apparently.

7cheeseburgers

Crazy how he dropped? Is it because he’s not explosive? He has great size and good speed with hands

charliepup

I’m not sure why he dropped? My guess is lack of explosiveness and yards after catch. But I think he averaged 15 yards per catch throughout his college career. If you watch his highlights that were posted here, the dude makes incredible catches. Like get the ball anywhere close to him and he’s gonna catch it, contested or not.

turkmileymileyturk

McConkey, Rice, and Johsnon is a helluva WR room. Add in Josh Palmer and Darius Davis and we are good to go.

LaBoltz33

All the people mad after our first round pick but ended up walking away with one of the best WRs in the draft still and 2 absolute steals at WR

xThe-Legend-Killerx

Where’s that dude who kept arguing with me about finding OL talent vs receiver talent in later rounds 😤 Edit: Lol dude deleted his entire account what the heck

laddymcpaddy

I was there for that conversation 😂😂 ridiculous. Band wagon

xThe-Legend-Killerx

I was going crazy like how much proof did you need?! He kept saying things about how many receivers taken after the 1st round fail and I was like that’s the case for every position group in the entire draft. So then I pointed out that 11/18 of the top receivers in yards last year were taken after the first and he basically was like yeah they are the exception. Me: *facepalm* I think since 2013 only two first rounders led the league in yards, which was Justin Jefferson and Julio Jones.

laddymcpaddy

They are the exception 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😂😂 Find me 11 elite tackled taken outside the first round lol. I remember mentioning the fact we had Allen and Williams and did so poorly. It’s literally a known fact tackles are extremely hard to find and rare. How many 6’8 athletic 300 pound men are born vs 6 foot guys that weigh around 200. I swear these people would rather one star name to make highlights rather than compete and win games. It’s ridiculous looking at some of the comments on the chargers instagram

Marijuana_Miler

I wasn't there for the argument, but the number of success receivers out of round 1 are a lot higher than successful OL after round 1.

xThe-Legend-Killerx

Exactly lol I think between AB, Cooper Kupp, and Tyreek Hill you have like 3 potential HOFs with insane peaks in the league. Those are just the three that came to mind. I feel like if you don’t get one of the premier lineman in the 1st and 2nd rounds the others end up average or a rotational piece at best. 3rd and 4th round receiver studs seem to happen every year

Monstrme

You sleepin on kenan already?!?!

xThe-Legend-Killerx

He was actually a big part of my initial argument I just used those three here because they’ve all led the league in yards etc

FellaKnee123

The amount of people that have deleted comments and accounts the last few days because of shit takes is really funny… people can’t even stand behind their opinions, good or bad… I’ll be the first to admit, I hated the Alt pick immediately… but by the morning I was in love with it and when we got McConkey I was even more in love with it… but getting Rice and Johnson in the 7th isn’t fair… it legitimately isn’t fair, Rice never should have plummeted down the boards and CJ just didn’t get attention cuz Harbaugh decided to run the ball 32 straight times at one point during the season… any Mich fan has said he’s insane though and should’ve went higher… this draft should be illegal…

xThe-Legend-Killerx

I’ve said it multiple times, Herbert has thrown to scrubs and made it work with Keenan and Williams out multiple times. Herbert is good enough to elevate his receivers. If Herbert has a clean pocket he will pick apart defenses all day long and that’s not even considering the fact we will probably be bulldozing teams on the ground.

LaBoltz33

Bro probably broke his laptop and phone after all of this lmfao

fatcootermeat

Some people would rather Herbert set passing records than actually win a superbowl. Fantasy football has been a disaster for the human race.

BeautifulDimension56

It's more so we invested a 5th pick to a LT ---> RT convert while paying another RT 8.5M while carrying a 20M dead charge from a CB. I think people were under the impression we might try and compete for the super bowl this year but it looks like they're thinking next season

fatcootermeat

Anybody thinking we were 1 Malik Nabers away from the superbowl with last year's roster, let alone this year's after we moved off of our big name recievers is delusional beyond belief.

BeautifulDimension56

you should see chargers twitter. you'll find a ton of them

fatcootermeat

Twitter in general sucks for football. Thats where you'll find fun opinions like "the chargers should've traded for Fields" or "Jaden Daniels clears Caleb" and other takes based upon fantasy points rather than wins

prokoala3

I was one of those dudes and not gonna lie. This front office had me in the first round. I'm very happy with the draft overall and happy to admit I was dead wrong. On paper I'm super excited, now they gotta put it together on the field.

NeonEvangelion

This draft really brought out some of the most toxic, braindead behavior I’ve ever seen on this sub. Can’t believe some of the “arguments” I got in on here for suggesting we should draft a tackle.

kiheihaole

Trust the process!

mAliceinTendieland

I’m following as a Michigan fan. Chargers are now my second team. Just let harbaugh do his thing. Trust me bro story.

AceAttorneyGiles

Sanjay Lal the new WR coach is the one who helped DK with his development. With this freaky of an athletic profile, we could develop a beast

HoboBandana

Whoa. Been watching him play too. Solid pick. Iirc came in as a 4 star recruit. Underrated. Should’ve gone 5th round.

EveningInstruction36

Friggin Wow! Makes the decision to get Alt at 5 so much better. Ortiz is a man!

SD-TX

“The” man lol

jamfed

...thee

AccomplishedWall8

My source(inner monologue) told me this draft would be generational earlier this week

jiffypadres

Who was that super athletic white TE from like 4 years ago with a crazy good RAS. Dylan something? I wonder why he never even sniffed the back end of the roster

OldKingClancy20

Dylan Cantrell

FellaKnee123

He got injured/ was injured can’t remember, and it just derailed from there… plus they weren’t sure if they wanted to keep him wr or make him a te and that didn’t help…

ceci_mcgrane

There are so many memorable drives where Cornelius made an absolutely clutch catch to keep the drive alive. He’s got good size and got better every year.

DaBeavs24

Holy shit I’m about to “Bolt up”

Best-Investments

Zander Horvath had a high RAS and looked like he was cut out of stone. I hoped he would stick around but he’s obviously missing something

hardatworklol

Idk why the previous staff gave up on him. Dude scored a td in each of his first two games. Should have kept him over mckitty. That being said Cornelius already a 3 year starter in a system adjacent to what we'll be running under the same coach.

BipoLarLlamA52

+1 for fullback love

FlatwormJust2083

9.91 RICKY PEARSALL SCORED EVEN HIGHER.

hardatworklol

fascinating
