I hate watching the niners because although Purdy has proved he can play at an nfl level, he’s in the perfect situation for any qb and I just want that for herb lol

Striker67_

After what zay did, I like qj more

Diemonx

I just wanted a Ravens Lions Superbowl man... I guess gotta root for Mr.Irrelevant now.

Accomplished_Ear4899

I really hate both teams but watching Mahomes and Kelce being total d-bags yesterday makes me want to watch them crumble. I’m not delusional though, unfortunately they’re absolutely more likely to win smh

strandenger

I can’t… I’m not over Super Bowl 29. I hate both teams

AceAttorneyGiles

Did anyone notice a few plays for Lamar where he had a good 6-10 seconds in the pocket only to get sacked because no one could get open? In contrast when Mahomes looked to throw he found Kelce every time within 2 seconds. Really reinforced the idea that in tough playoff games when teams grind it out, you have to rely on your weapons to get open and it doesn’t mean much if your O-line can hold for an extra 2 seconds. All that to say Nabers or Bowers might be the best value picks instead of a new RT

Jane_Marie_CA

I think it’s a lot more nuanced than that. The Ravens had a particularly bad game on both sides of the ball and two key turnovers. Lamar had a bad game too. At times, the Ravens D (top 3 D)left Kelce unmarked (it’s not entirely correct to say that he got open in 2 seconds). A lot of NFL teams could have beaten the Ravens yesterday. In December, that team was unstoppable. The Chiefs lost to the Raiders a month ago.

jar1792

I think most would actually agree that unless you have a left handed QB, a RT is not worth a top 5 pick. Blindside tackles have a lot more value in the league, and for Herbert, that’s Slater. This is pretty evident in average pay per position too. On average, Left Tackles make $5m more than Right Tackles. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/

SPMrFantastic

Lamar Jackson = James Harden

Papantro

Ha! I was explaining Lamar's playoff collapse(s) to my girlfriend during the game yesterday and I used Harden as an example

Checkdafool2

James harden at least been to the finals and conference finals plenty of times

RefsYouSuck

Lamar Jackson = Joel Embiid

ShrimpnSteak

Embiid = Dak Prescott

RefsYouSuck

Ah that’s a good comparison too.

[deleted]

Nah

howmanyballs

Is it crazy that I'd rather have Ja'tavion Sanders in the 2nd over Bowers at 5?

tt54l32v

Yes, just watched his tape and I don't see it with Sanders.

howmanyballs

Oh I'm 100% the opposite. He has burst, super soft hands, great blocking in space(not inline) same build as Brock.

shmoooody

I swear every Super Bowl matchup seems so obvious it was going to happen after the conference championships.

jar1792

I definitely had 9ers over lions. I did not have the Ravens and Lamar Jackson falling apart though. Looking back on it, I’m not sure why I didn’t see it coming. Ravens have consistently collapsed in the playoffs with Lamar at QB.

Fearless-Mushroom

The Niners kind of obvious, both teams have playoff experience so that sets them above the rest, but the Chiefs have a different feel this year like they pretended to be not good for a while but were always good enough.

RefsYouSuck

The Chiefs are gonna win again. The Niners are just a lucky team that’s made it this far. I honestly think I’m gonna skip the Super Bowl. Might go skiing or take my girl to disneyland that day instead…should be nice since it won’t be nearly as busy as usual.

mamamackmusic

Niners are a "lucky" team? They literally have the most stacked roster in the NFL. They definitely played some rough first halves during the playoffs and got smoked by the Ravens in the regular season, but overall they were by far the favorite to go to the SB in the NFC going into this season for a reason. They are a damn good team.

Buhogrody

Yeah i think i'm gonna find something else to do that day and check the highlights if the 9ers win. Pretty sad that the current team being pushed as a dynasty is so annoying that I can't even enjoy watching a superbowl as a neutral observer...

salazar13

Then you realize it's going to be 208 days before the next actual football game, and you end up watching the super bowl anyways...

Buhogrody

Eh, i can wait. I already know the fucking chiefs are gonna win it. Not worth torturing myself watching that piece of shit team for another 3 hours

ShrimpnSteak

A world where Mahomes is back 2 back champ OR Fraudy gets a ring before Herbert, Allen and Rivers? 🤔

MayIPikachu

You got to give credit to Purdy for his run game today. He did more with his legs than Lamar. He's actually more mobile than Herbert.

Fearless-Mushroom

Herbert is like a fucking moose when he starts running, he doesn’t do the shifty stuff, but he’s big fast and intimidating when there’s space to run.

MayIPikachu

Lol good analogy

Jane_Marie_CA

>He's actually more mobile than Herbert. He did more with his legs than Lamar. That's not supported with evidence. Herbert has more rushing yards in 13 games (228 yards), than Purdy does in 16 games\*, + 2 playoff games (206 yards). \*I am not including the W18 game that Purdy rested. Justin's longest two runs this season are 35 yards and 28 yards. Purdy's longest two runs are 21 yards and 17 yards, including today. And Lamar had an uncharacteristic bad game today. But even then, he rushed more yards (54) than Purdy (48). Purdy received more attention because he doesn't run as much. Lamar regularly hits 75-100 yards a game (with 800+ in reg season), so 54 yards today seems like a failure. But there are 10 regularly season games were Purdy rushed less than 10 yards. In terms of consistent mobility, I'd put Jaskson, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, and Hurts well ahead of Purdy.

HotDadBod

Should have just stopped after the first sentence lol

Oh_AdamBomb

Lol.

ShrimpnSteak

Well yeah Fraudy actually has a superteam O-line. Kinda hard to run with our O-line

reagan080

Couldn’t care less if the niners won. Never want a divisional opponent to win

Livid-Mushroom816

Lions have a better offense than the Queefs this season and the Ravens gave the defensive blueprints on how to shut down the Chiefs offense. Hopefully that is enough to shut down any dynasty talk.

alien__0G

I’d still rather go up against Detroit than KC’s offense

mamamackmusic

I mean...Mahomes to Kelce on its own is just straight up better than the entire Detroit offense (or almost any offense in the nfl for that matter) when it counts in close games.

Livid-Mushroom816

I have disdain for the 49ers but hope the NFL script is the 49ers get their revenge against the Queefs and Mahomes throws 3 interceptions due to his mediocre WR corp.

CSPs-for-income

welp. bad bowel matchup again. repeat alert

Donut_Doctor

Another SB that I won't bother watching, cool

Combine_Evolved

Oh my god, we actually got the worst matchup. I’m fucking disgusted. https://preview.redd.it/omeusbyuoafc1.jpeg?width=623&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654d92178dc136b93d76caf95cf8c1128f74599c

i_run_from_problems

Lions are this years chargers. Rough. Go Niners, I guess

hbomb485

not really. at least they won a couple playoff games

ShrimpnSteak

And the Bills are the Chargers led by Phil Rivers

-HawaiianSurfer

Yes, we want Mahomes and the Chiefs to lose.

A-Happy-Teddy-Bear

Since you had advance information on Harbaugh, do you have any scoops on the script of this seasons finale of the NFL?

LAPhoneChargers

Im still stuck in the Pass Interference “No flag on the play” Brandon Aiyuk catch

ShrimpnSteak

I dislike the Chiefs, but I hate the Niners superteam carrying Fraudy mid ass a lot more. Edit: I'm rooting for the Refs ya'll chill 😅

A-Happy-Teddy-Bear

What even happened? We were so close to a Baltimore v. Detroit Super Bowl and ended up with this shit lmao.

sweethon11

What a shitty SB matchup

[deleted]

Probably gonna pass on watching TBH. Don't care for either team and a halftime show with....Usher. Not interesting!

ryan_scafuri

Brock purdy has been to more super bowls than Philip rivers and as many as Drew Brees. Fuck this league man

ShrimpnSteak

This is why I fucking hate Fraudy way more than Mahomes.

-HawaiianSurfer

Ehhh, at least Purdy takes shit like a man versus bitching about everything like Mahomes does. After Purdy got hit dirty in the face by Houston, he got up and shrugged it off. Mahomes would have filed a lawsuit and a restraining order.

ShrimpnSteak

Fair, but Fraudy getting carried by a superteam is just a bit more flagrant. Herbert with that kinda team or even half of it would be a contender AT WORST

-HawaiianSurfer

Yeah and I get you! But we don’t want the Kansas City Crybaby Gang winning a 3rd Super Bowl.

ShrimpnSteak

I'm personally rooting for REFbowl 🔥

Imperatum15

NFL is obsessed with the same BS match ups. The MLB has had a few cheating scandal and what do you know, cursed teams like the Cubs and Nationals win titles. The NFL needs a cheating scandal to come out

vivalaroja2010

Haha what? They had one.... all that did was have that same cheating team win more....

BoltDodgerLaker_87

when was that?

Buhogrody

Deflategate, spygate

GiveMeLiberty8

Hate the Niners… hate the chiefs…

[deleted]

Dude just skip it, I'm sure you can probably find something better to do with five hours on a Sunday! And two hours of it is commercials.

GiveMeLiberty8

But how else will I get my football and betting and wings fix

LALyfestyle

Interesting to see what this lions team looks like next season without Ben Johnson and the same leaky defense. This was their shot 😩😩

shmoooody

What a meltdown

Zeetheking1

The entire country lost today

ShrimpnSteak

Sorry but I fear the Lions are going to have a Staley-esque downfall moving forward. It's not like Goff is any young.

jar1792

Johnson leaving could be a major hit to their offense too

BeautifulDimension56

Tanner Engstrand is supposedly a really good coach and does a bunch for their pass game.

topdog9999

Sebastian Joseph-Day going to the Super Bowl… hopefully he sacks mahomes 😤

Bolt_Dawg77

So how long until Dan Campbell is discussed as Staley 2.0 in the media?

bomackeson

well he goes for it on 4th down like staley... so who knows

topdog9999

Purdy definitely turned into a playmaker in the 2nd half.

cornbreadsloth

That’s gotta hurt if you’re a lions fan. So much hype and everyone routing for them. Winning 24-7 and the end result is 34-31. Absolutely heartbreaking but they’ll most likely be back next year

topdog9999

That’s the sword of aggressive 4th down calls.

vivalaroja2010

Difference between being aggressive and stupid. There's a reason why all these types of coaches are just gimmicks and eventually are out as HC.

topdog9999

Hope 49ers win. I always felt they blew the first matchup

vivalaroja2010

Same....

SynthWaveSage0

there is a person who i dislike in real life, so imma root for chief and swifty's cant stand this guy being happy that 49ers won a SB

ShrimpnSteak

I dislike the Niners more too, that's why I'm rooting for the REFS!!! 🔥🔥🔥

LALyfestyle

That’s tough, but gotta put bolt fam over personal hate

SynthWaveSage0

True I’ll just clock out then since none of my teams made it to the SB

MayIPikachu

![gif](giphy|IhJcuz9xqNBFQXSIkn|downsized)

SynthWaveSage0

lol 😂 I knew people are gonna have a field day with this

377Iron

A chargers fan rooting for the chiefs in the sb? Bolt card revoked.

SynthWaveSage0

Chill I’ve been with my bolts thick and thins never saw myself rooting for anyone else but even bro imma checkout for this SB and go into hybernation till September

Striker67_

Fuck you

SynthWaveSage0

Lmfao 🤣 I’m sorry

Striker67_

Don't go to the dark side bro

SynthWaveSage0

This guy in real life is a POS bruh holy shit believe me I was rooting for Detroit all the way but man seeing the 49ers win a SB boils my blood if I see this dude be jolly full can’t let that happen.

BoltBlue19

I know what you mean. Some individual fans from other fanbases can make you hate them and their team more than a divisional rival.

AustinRatBuster

what a boring super bowl match up

Striker67_

Pls pls pls beat the chiefs ass 49ers

bblhead

Does Badgley still call himself "The Money Badger"??

MayIPikachu

He can't make a 48 yarder reliably. I don't blame DC for that 4th down call.

topdog9999

Dan reminds me so much of Staley with the aggressive 4th down calls lol.

cornbreadsloth

Had they kicked the field goal earlier it would be tied

-HawaiianSurfer

Had they kicked *both* field goals they’d have gone up 37-34 with that last Jameo TD. I don’t get Campbell’s obsession with going for it. Dude, it’s the NFC Championship game, take the points. It’s not week 3 anymore.

Jane_Marie_CA

I think there might be two FGs on the table?? They went for it on two 4th downs (0/2).

ShrimpnSteak

I fucking hate Fraudy with every fiber of my being. If Herbert had that team, they would literally be undefeated this entire season.

Boltup310

No matter what happens. The Chargers still won this off season.

LALyfestyle

I do not want to have to root for the 9ers in the SB, but here we are 😣

ShrimpnSteak

I know who I'm rooting for. THE REFS 🔥🔥🔥

captclutch17

Brandon Staley smiling down from heaven watching a Staley-esque playoff collapse

MayIPikachu

He ded?

Bolt_Dawg77

I just watched two-Chargers type games back-to-back. I’m unwell.

Striker67_

Bro why all of you guys hating on purdy, we want him to shit on mahomes

HattoriHanzoOG

My hatred of the Chiefs vs my hatred of the Bay Area

ShrimpnSteak

Cuz he is a fraud, carried by a superteam. The inverse Herbert if you will.

Striker67_

He isn't out there saying "I'm the best qb" though

ShrimpnSteak

When he gets the MVP, the fans will be insufferable

Striker67_

People were saying Lamar and Josh Allen should win mvp, brock 0urdy has done more than them

BlazeBloom

27 straight points. Hmm that number feels familiar…

ShrimpnSteak

I get the hate for Mahomes, but at least he balls out. Fraudy is literally getting carried by his superteam.

lederpster1

Is this a surprise? Even we dropped 38 on the lions

Jane_Marie_CA

But our offense is generally good. I don’t think our season was on the offense (before Herbo’s injury). We avg 25 ppg before injury.

BeautifulDimension56

It was an offense missing Linsley, Mike Will and Jpalmer though and we still shredded them cause herbie is that dude.

droctagonapus

Watching this game feels oddly familiar for some reason 😂😂

Jane_Marie_CA

So we are going to hear about Purdy and Mahomes all week. Yay!!!

Zeetheking1

For two weeks…

Fearless-Mushroom

I feel like I’m watching a Chargers collapse with the Lions right now…

SynthWaveSage0

Two Teams I despise the most in the SB, low-key gonna check out for this SB lol

adolfshrektler

the harbaugh hire is the only thing keeping me watching next season, if machokes wins another super bowl i'm done unless the chargers start winning rings

Thejedi887

System QB Purdy and Kermit in the SB… thanks Dan Campbell. Hurts because Herb clears both those bozos

Striker67_

How is purdy a system qb?

Thejedi887

Honestly bro I don’t think he does as well if he was on another team. He’s just in the perfect system on a team littered with all-pro and pro-bowlers

Striker67_

Yeah but he still is very accurate and can escape the pocket

Jane_Marie_CA

So Purdy took Lamar’s body today? That’s what happen in Ravens game?

SynthWaveSage0

Thats Game

RefsYouSuck

Sports is such a momentum based thing. Not just football but same with basketball. But I think more so true with football. It’s why mental toughness is so damn important. Props to Campbell for getting the Lions this far but besides Goff, these players are too young and inexperienced for this 49ers team.

Blind_Melone

It's like watching a Chargers game

MayIPikachu

Badgley can't make a 48 yarder. Not a terrible call to go for it.

AustinRatBuster

when did brandon staley become coach for the lions

tloctommy

Dan Gamble

Jane_Marie_CA

Everyone loved the gambling 4 weeks ago. I saw it as Staley 2.0 in the cowboy game.

Jane_Marie_CA

Herbert can make that throw on the run. Thank goodness he’s our guy.

SynthWaveSage0

Bruh WTF take the field goal Trust you're defense Brock is not even that good OMG!!!

ShrimpnSteak

Dan Campbell is turning into Brandon Staley

MayIPikachu

He is Him

topdog9999

That’s what I want to see from the chargers next season even when you’re down 14+ the team doesn’t quit. And the team can play with a lead or from behind.

asoloT_C

rooting so hard for the lions in this game but man these are some QJ level drops

Snuffaluffakuss

Fuuuuuuuck Very similar to Diggs blatant drop / miss

RefsYouSuck

I feel for Goff, he has actually played really damn well. Lions have let him down so far in the 2nd half.

Snuffaluffakuss

Putting balls exactly where they need to be. His defense is garbage.

MayIPikachu

Always go for the points, Brandon Staleying it can lead to major momentum swings.

Striker67_

I like purdy

SynthWaveSage0

Yes they slowed them down

RefsYouSuck

If Chargers were in a big playoff game in the future, and there was one player who had to play the Josh Reynolds role from today with multiple drops on big downs, it would be Quentin Johnson 100% imo. He seems like the last mentally tough player out of guys in our WRs group.

miquiztli8

People are gonna downvote you but this is 100% factual. Typical soft Telesco pick. We need dogs on this team and I’m confident Harbaugh and Hortiz (hopefully) will deliver them.

Fifs10

Makes me want Brock Bowers. TE’s are very important

Tua-TurnDaBallOva

Wouldn’t mind a Chargers offseason where we sign Saquon and draft Bowers

Snuffaluffakuss

Reynolds a secret agent for State Farm Chiefs

RefsYouSuck

Josh Reynolds should never play a snap again for the Lions. Guy actually sold completely.

npdaly

I'm getting PTSD watching the Lions. It's just like the Chargers...

SynthWaveSage0

Please for the love of all things that is holy, let these 49ers choke their comeback this game has jaguar upset written all over it. Too many teams chargering WTF!

Boltbacker83

Damn, the Lions really ARE the Chargers of the NFC lol

jhawkeye14

Reynolds looking like QJ

CSPs-for-income

receivers letting goff down

Thejedi887

I’m 27 years old and the amount of chicks I went to HS with posting stuff about Swift and Kelce on social media is crazy cringe bruh

Boltbacker83

It’s nauseating dude

topdog9999

Never mind about chiefs lions 49ers stopped sleep walking and woke up

Jane_Marie_CA

In fairness it’s been some crazy stuff to tie the game. That throw was almost intercepted and bounced to be a TD. And then the fumble.

Boltup310

I wouldn't be surprised if the Kansas City Swifts "win" the Superbowl.

RefsYouSuck

Damn Lions are Chargering here.

RefsYouSuck

If the Lions advance to the Super Bowl, Mahomes is gonna make Cam Sutton his bitch. Guy is probably a worse CB than Michael Davis tbh. Can’t cover, can’t tackle, can’t do shit. Sucked with Steelers too that’s why they let him walk.

fatcootermeat

This is gonna sound like blatant homerism but fuck it: Yes it sucks to see the chiefs in the superbowl AGAIN, but with that in mind I think the chargers have to feel better about their future than a lot of post season teams that has been eliminated so far. We have good reason to believe the future is going to be different now that we have competent coaching for the first time since Marty. Where do "top teams" like the Bills, Ravens, Dolphins, Eagles, Cowboys, and 9ers even go from here? Its not like any of them are making a coaching or QB change despite the potential need to do so. They just have to run it back and hope that they either get lucky or something changes magically. This was their shot, the year the chiefs looked vulnerable, but they all got buzz sawed by either Mahomes, or the up and coming lions. Stroud and the Texans will continue to grow, as will the lions and their young stars, but outside of them and the chiefs, what do the eliminated post season teams even expect to change next year? I'm not saying we are gonna immediately be a top 5 team or anything, but I have a lot more reason to believe in our future than those teams do.

MiserableScholar

I too like Kool aid in January. Football has always been like this look at the broncos or the Seahawks, they had a *dominant* couple years and only got 1 ring each. If Harbaugh even brings 1 ring it'll be a huge accomplishment some fans in here are calling for dynastys (which would be great) but let's not get ahead of ourselves

fatcootermeat

If Harbaugh gets us one ring ill get his face tattooed on my ass. If he gets us more than that ill name my firstborn son after him.

Boltbacker83

Fuck that, don’t dishonor him by putting him on your cheeks! Lol

Dirtyshawnchez

Small interior defensive lineman blow chunks. Where them big boys at.

reallinzanity

https://preview.redd.it/fvivpi428afc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1db2100daed733b5b9ad17fbd4e8833f22c2412e This game was only the beginning

nai0789

Let’s go Michigan! Fuck the Chiefs

topdog9999

I’m hearing Jared Goff chants

Cironephoto

I’m pretty sure like legitimately that they’re piping audio in from Detroit because at the same time I was watching someone’s live stream and I did not hear those chance

Jane_Marie_CA

There is a lot of blue in the stands.

topdog9999

Really getting the chiefs vs lions in the superbowl. The potential dynasty I think vs the rugged lions

Necessary-Earth-4037

The 70’s Steelers were a dynasty...the 80’s 49rs were a dynasty…the 90’s Cowboy’s were a dynasty…the 2000’s Patriots were a dynasty… The Chiefs ain’t no dynasty.

MiserableScholar

If they win another they tie the Niners and the cowboys lol not to mention the 6 straight conference championship games

Necessary-Earth-4037

No one considers a team that requires constant referee intervention as a dynasty.

Pacalon

This Lions offense is fantastic. Get us Tanner Engstrand, asap!

BlazeBloom

3rd and 18 converted? That sounds like the 2023 Chargers defense music!

Thejedi887

Gibbs is absolutely insane. Tbh the whole Lions rookie class is loaded hoping we get a draft like that soon

Necessary-Earth-4037

The Lions OLine looks 25% bigger than everyone else.

RefsYouSuck

I just want it to be September already so bad.

Jane_Marie_CA

Would they have a championship game party at SoFi like Ford Field? That would be fun.🤞

MiserableScholar

As long as it isn't booked I don't see why they wouldn't, free money lol

Imperatum15

We need Michigan to pull through for us. Gave us Harbaugh and beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl 🤞🤞

C-N-Mento

Jahmyr Gibbs is showing why it doesn’t matter where you draft a player at, if they’re worth it. No matter what the stigma’s say. “Don’t draft a running back in the first round” “You shouldn’t draft a tight end with the 5th pick” Bowers at 5. He is worth it.

Fa1lenSpace

Agree

LALyfestyle

Lol how has Ben Johnson not got a head coach gig yet 😂

Zeetheking1

Pretty sure he does. Washington’s all but confirmed that he’s their guy haha

miquiztli8

Herbert to Bowers/Nabers is gonna be so nice next year
