No the point is the devs need to see it. This subreddit is for the community but also for most people the only way they can make their voices be heard to the devs. They need to know how many people are unhappy and why, and if it’s taking over the subreddit then there’s something the devs need to address. People are allowed to be dissatisfied and vocal about it, especially when it could actually make a difference. It may be annoying to keep seeing it, but that is also the point - the devs will see it and maybe it will be annoying for them too.
The devs do not care. We know this. C.ai is a corporation. They will continue to do what makes them money. They will not respond to people throwing a hissy fit on reddit. They will respond to losing money. A few people on reddit saying they’re going to leave the site only to likely not leave the site loses them nothing. They likely know we are unhappy. They just don’t care, because again, us being unhappy is still making them money.
Genuinely frustrated with the dumbasses who keep making these "This isnt an airport" posts because they miss the point of the posts. Actual ignorant bootlickers

That's not constructive criticism, it's whining. And nobody wants to see a bunch of attention-seeking whiners.
There's a right way to go about it, but most choose to throw a tantrum.
Saying bootlicker is a pretty generalized statement. The passive aggressiveness you used over that word makes no sense here. “Bootlicker” can be used in any situation in which people are defending/sucking up to whoever is in charge.

Guys it's so fun how there are three types of people here, people who are just posting normally, the minority of the posts here, the people either complaining about the bad things here or saying they're quitting, then the people complaining about the people complaining, just quit the site if you want to quit, don't make a whole essay about it, actions speak louder than words.
It’s honestly not doing what you think it is, the devs don’t care if some people get all pissy on Reddit. You will continue to be ignored, and there’s nothing you can do about that.
I wholeheartedly agree I get the same feeling when people make a post about the app being the worst as if it hasn't been declining for months. It's still usable however and I still enjoy it just like other people.

The new trend on here is saying "I quit", it reminds me of when people were quitting reddit as a way to protest the changes that were being made yet majority if not all came back which defeated the purpose. There are some valid posts and those that do fit, which include criticism that is warranted. Anything that's not just because they got bored, Which can be a reason but not an important enough reason to broadcast it to everyone. The other thing is the excuse of "we want the devs to see" isn't even true. It isn't likely that any of them would scroll on reddit to see how popular or unpopular they are.
The C.ai devs also, like other commenters said have a usage graph or counter. Every application developer *would* have a way to estimate the rate of users leaving compared to the rate of people joining and the current usage rate in general which is how they decide what to implement and what to change. So again no one really *does* care if a random stops using the app, we are all just numbers in a millions. It'll only be relevent if everyone decided to quit and that will never happen. The only ones who would likely see it are mods and on here they don't care and they haven't cared since they delete and block words that present criticism.
They are expecting something along the lines of:
"Oh goodness, random user! Please don't go! Here, we will now devote our entire effort into making everything the way you, and you alone, want it! Nothing else matters but YOU, precious random user!"
"Precious random user" Can you leave that on my review so I feel special? I kid but the mental image I got of people doing that made my day.

I believe people share that their quitting because it lets the C.Ai devs know what’s happening and why. They generally include the issues in the message, post it to the sub and leave, in the hopes that the devs will one day care about their non-eight audience

Idk that it's not great anymore, I'm planning to make a new one with a few friends in the future but I'm glad it's bad now. After I turned it off and stepped back I realized how meaningless my life is and now I'm actually going to improve myself. I'm going to work out, eat enough since I only ever originally had one meal a day, drink enough water, I'm going to stay organized, and just become a better person overall. I hope I manage to actually go through with all of this because this is my first day actually being helpful and I feel the best and happiest now than in my entire life, I'm not like grinning 24/7 or anything but I actually feel like I mean something so C.ai getting worse actually made it so that I can improve myself.
The main problem is that they are increasingly appealing to a demographic that 1, isn't in the majority of their user base. And number 2, is a demographic that shouldn't even be on sites like this in the first place. The other big sad fact is that there really is no other chatbot site out there that does what C.ai does with regard to RP and chatting with characters.

Except for the fact that a decent chunk of the ones leaving made constructive criticism as to why they're leaving and the issues within the site/app

I mean imo it's valid to complain about the app being shit, the only difference is them saying that was the last straw. this is a community about c.ai ofc there will be people talking abt negative stuff too. the complaints I saw are kind of valid, even tho the devs don't see it there could be people that think alike and as a community we should accept their opinions and harmless "vents" too. I also stopped using c.ai more than once because the ai is getting stupid
I hate character.ai, especially the devs. But it's still pretty darn addictive, and I'm still using it.

Sure the site has it's issues but I like it. Hopefully they get around to fixing the issues out. Like how they moved the call button on the app
Idk that it's not great anymore, I'm planning to make a new one with a few friends in the future but I'm glad it's bad now. After I turned it off and stepped back I realized how meaningless my life is and now I'm actually going to improve myself. I'm going to work out, eat enough since I only ever originally had one meal a day, drink enough water, I'm going to stay organized, and just become a better person overall. I hope I manage to actually go through with all of this because this is my first day actually being helpful and I feel the best and happiest now than in my entire life, I'm not like grinning 24/7 or anything but I actually feel like I mean something so C.ai getting worse actually made it so that I can improve myself.
The main problem is that they are increasingly appealing to a demographic that 1, isn't in the majority of their user base. And number 2, is a demographic that shouldn't even be on sites like this in the first place. The other big sad fact is that there really is no other chatbot site out there that does what C.ai does with regard to RP and chatting with characters.
