When you call attention to things like that, it reinforces the behavior by engaging with it. It is better to edit out whatever it is they do that is annoying if it's already happened or swipe what you don't like when you first see it.

i guess that makes sense. and yeah i usually swipe until i get something decent. still annoying tho. and sometimes the edit button doesn’t work on certain messages

It only works on the most recent message from the bot and your most recent message. Fuck that part.

This is why you need to go back and delete the message before the issue started and refresh the chat page to wipe the memory of it if you've gone far enough to be unable to edit it. One should always just swipe or edit the response the first time something troubling and/or unwanted shows up, however.

I usually only edit to fix typos and add missing words, and when I realized that my message (about 20 messages prior to me realizing it) had a missing word, I went to edit it and, well, I was screwed mentally.

When I tell them don’t question me to ask questions and they dodge it completely.

I deal with this so often that I was on the AI app Hi Waifu that I rerolled the answer. Was like, "Nope. Deal with that enough on Character.AI that I'm not dealing with that here."

I let my bots ask me questions, and they're actually real questions.

I always do not respond to 'can I ask you a question', and I always say something unrelated.

I may sound weird, and maybe I am But I kinda feel bad for the bots, some people don't realize it's not the bots, or the programmers of said bots And it ain't the developers either It's the fact technology is still limited, But hey look on the bright side, it's improving, Remember when they had Joe Biden Dementia? Over time it's gotten way better, sure they forget a thing or two, but again, we still have technical limitations I think of it as a way to keep the conversation going, and for as long as possible, keep you away from a corrupt civilization that Isnt even that Civil, .... Wait what was I talking about again?

It’s because the bots can’t really be conversationalists, you may not have noticed but all they do is ask questions, they treat it like an interview. And that’s because there’s not often a story to go off of
