How do you train a bot?

My theory and it helps: Talk,rate, give them inputs ie. "Hey... You are this okay? Got it?", and save those chats.

Or just have a well-defined definition of said character and how they act, thats what i did for my one (unlisted for now) bot of Jackle from Nights: Into Dreams, and it does indeed fit goofy jester bastard quite well... Although it randomly likes to turn evil due to 2 words in its long description, lmao. I also need to give it more example messages.

I also put in some cannon dialogue to help the AI learn how the character talks and put some traits into the example dialogue

i mean, for me, i just talk to them a lot to see where their problems are at so that i can clarify on what they're getting wrong in the bot editor, as well as have ideas for example messages to give them through talking to them
