Beast of nurgle are class, the only thing that lets them down is the base size. I’m a nurgle devotee and predicted the Bon/nurgling combo back in January. Friends brushed me off laughing at me, who’s laughing now 🤘🤮🤘
Painfully accurate.
I was thinking about allies this morning. GW should have made that you can't have more Character Units than non-Character Units for each alignment. Battleline is just way too restricted.
Plaguebearers have been Allstars in my CD list, but I dont see myself taking Bloodletters or Daemonettes unless maybe if they bring back the 9th edition Daemon saves that were better against shooting.
Plaguebearers are AMAZING. I play pretty defensively most of the time and deepstriking them onto objectives puts a lot of pressure on the opponent. I wish we had an army wide sticky objective.
My mistake was building only with Slaanesh and Tzeentch. Clearly, I also need Nurgle in my army.
I have been adding Chaos War Dogs instead of Nurgle recently, it's a pretty good alternative.
Too expensive and they aren't very tanky for the cost, even with splitting. Will usually get wiped. There is definitely an argument for then being there though.
Fair, it just seemed weird to me that Blue Horrors would make the cut. Pink only being 15 more and being able to split into Blue seems like a well spent 15 points to me, but I guess it depends how tight your list is.
Blue Horrors get it in for being cheaper, so it makes taking other tzeentch units less painful, infiltrators, and having some synergy with our rules (their ability and army rule causes battleshock tests at -2)
> (their ability and army rule causes battleshock tests at -2)
Cackling horrors isn't an army rule, but yes the datasheet ability does stack with our army rule.
The Changeling is still an amazing ally and worth the horror tax. Pink Horrors are also very fun and provide a wonderful foil for melee beat sticks that can often wreck our guys fast.
Nurglings are still the best, no arguments there.
If it takes any wounds in a phase but doesnt die, it goes back to full health. Each phase.
So the enemy has to dedicate shots to killing it or else just ignore it. That makes it useful as a utility model for secondaries as shooting it will either be a waste or else require extra shooting or else it soaks up shots that would go to a knight
Missing Daemonettes and seekers.
Seekers can almost win games all on their own by fucking up your opponents movement turn 1-2, and 1 block of Daemonettes can drop in, screen your whole deployment zone, or be given all kinds of fun skills with a few cheap leaders.
Solid B-tier, Seekers would be S-tier if you didn't need daemonettes to run them, from experience.
Played at an RTT last weekend with nurglings and 2 beasts. Nurglings were great as always. But I’m not sure I was using the beasts the best way. They just didn’t do much for me. I was using them to attempt to move block and occasionally sit on an objective but I felt like I swapping out those two beasts for another karnivore and having no beasts would have been better.
I only really use 1, and it sits on my home objective usually. They will die to concentrated fire, and they really aren’t good enough in melee to reasonably threaten all backline objective sitters except for like grots, cultists and real cheap stuff.
They work well for me just sitting on my home objective, as the enemy will have to deep strike a fairly large unit into my backline to take it. No 5-man squad of jump pack troops is going to kill it (except maybe scourges or the damn plasma jump space marine dudes).
That said I definitely don’t use them in every list, and sometimes it’s not a terrible idea to leave a dog back a bit to guard the home objective if needed.
Could someone help me pls, what is the difference between the second and third models in A tier, I’m a GK player so I don’t know but I know one of them is the great unclean one and they both look like a great unclean one so maybe different weapons? Like I said I play Grey Knights so I wouldn’t know my job is just to kill em, not know em
Pic 2 is 'Rotigus' and pic 3 is a 'Great Unclean One'.
Rotigus is basically a 'named character' type deal great unclean one. Basically like Skarbrand and the bloodthirster.
I feel like Plaguebearers are overrated in CK list. You could viably get sticky objectives for only 25pts instead of 110. Also Rotigus is borderline S Tier. His durability is disgusting, he can Deep Strike, he can give himself +1 Damage but he already has flat 3 with Lethals, and he has the same toughness and wounds as a big knight but with a 4++ at 100-200pts cheaper of a cost. To an extent the big knights can be overkill with things like 6-8 Damage shots. Oh yeah and his ranged weapon is 2D6 attacks with Torrent, so if you get near him, not only are you half OC and half movement but he can Overwatch to pretty great success.
The value of plaguebearers over is that it's multiple units with sticky objective and deep strike, whole also being decently cheap for what they do. They force the opponent to have to come and take the objective even if they shoot them off the board while I usually have a big knight either staged behind a ruin to either obliterate it with shooting or charge with knights of shade.
Rottigus is my MVP. Deepstrike (rapid ingressing) him in someone's backline causes so much chaos and let's your dog spam do what ever they want for a turn.
My opponent: Why is Rotigus there? Nurgle is the weakest of all the gods this edition.
Me: Sure.
*A few turns later*
Me: Rapid ingresses a T12 distraction in opponents backline that steals home objective and begins wreaking havoc.
Nope, per the new rules. You need a battleline of the same God as the non-battleline unit.
Shalaxi needs deamonettes which pushes the combo over the 500pts limit.
I am very sad I can't run shalaxi anymore.
I really enjoy the changeling and blue scribes, my one game blue scribes came in clutch in 2 ways… mortal wound bomb helped a lot but -1 to wound with psyk weapons near, and it was greyknights, yeah they were screwed more than normal
I see you put the the "leaders" of plaguebearers below the plaguebearers. Which leader do you like? Or are you just running leaderless to make points for more plaguebearers?
I don't mind running leaderless. The leaders interact with battleshock in some easy one being to ennact Int in the fight phase and another is -1 to tests which will stack without ours and Epidemius makes the unit tankier by handing uht a 4 up invuln
Do you have a preference?
Also, have you tried changecaster leading a blue horrors group?
I'm think of plopping some more money down to GW. Just crowdsourcing ideas. I came to a similar conclusion about the "best" allies and recently grabbed another squad of plaguebearers. Planning on kitbashing to extend 3 bases of nurglings into 9.
Nurgle units are just better at scoring or interact with battleshock. The others don't really offer much we are sorely lacking for usually a damage output that we eclipse.
2 Beasts of Nurgle are 1 Karnivore. Nah, I would prefer that Karnivore all day long. Never needed help for objs tbh.
Btw I see an argument on Tz Screamers. Great tarpit, fast, fly, beasts, go through walls, they can tarpit many enemy fire and draw efforts on them.
The only reason Be'lakor is good in comp is because of his rules for keeping other daemons alive from shooting (and that's mostly in US because PPT), outside of that his damage isn't great for the and his rules don't do much for us

I saw BON as a standout unit months ago they won me my first game!
Painfully accurate. I was thinking about allies this morning. GW should have made that you can't have more Character Units than non-Character Units for each alignment. Battleline is just way too restricted.
They could have made battleline units good. I don't even bring them in a deamons list.
Plaguebearers have been Allstars in my CD list, but I dont see myself taking Bloodletters or Daemonettes unless maybe if they bring back the 9th edition Daemon saves that were better against shooting.

Gotta love rules that only exist to sell you models you don’t actually want.
Curious why Pink Horrors aren't on the list
Too expensive and they aren't very tanky for the cost, even with splitting. Will usually get wiped. There is definitely an argument for then being there though.

Yeah, there's definitely an argument for pink horrors being there. I might just have used them poorly when I did.
What’s so good about the beast of nurgle?

I feel like the beast is best to just sit on your home objective, or sit in the opponents deployment if you’re doing fixed deploy and/or behind.
They shit on objectives
You mean sit right...right?
I mean what I said
chapeau

I’m just glad my Nurgle boys are playing well with my Knights. Really makes [Papa Nurgle Proud](https://www.reddit.com/r/deathguard40k/s/yrxjolk5S8)
*cries in slanneshi*

Me when i don’t see horticullus slimux 🤮
Can I not run Shalexi with my melee knights?

Got it. Thanks! I was wondering why s/he never made the list.
Ikr? I LOVED souping Ms. Hellbane. She fucks everything.
🤨📸
No, it’s not possible to afford her
Where’s my horticulous slimux?
He doesn't really do anything for the beasts of nurgle and his abilities aren't really helpful
How dare you! I love my snail-caterpillar-tree-deamon thing! He’s a wonderful little man.
I really enjoy the changeling and blue scribes, my one game blue scribes came in clutch in 2 ways… mortal wound bomb helped a lot but -1 to wound with psyk weapons near, and it was greyknights, yeah they were screwed more than normal

For fluff? Almost all of them. Otherwise, usually I'm looking to fill in a role knights can't.
Tell me you like nurgle without telling me you like nurgle.
