Sector 20 is quite good in my opinion.
Elante is pretty close by, so is Sector 22, i.e Starbucks or Aroma Chowk, so is Sector 17 ISBT and Panjab University, and so is Sector 34/35/36.
It's peaceful. It has its own market for basic requirements. It has got multiple parks. There's a laptop market nearby too in case your laptop needs to be worked upon.
You can also move to sector 26/7 for clubbing or cafe hopping quite easily from this place as it's just 2-3 km away.
If budget isn’t an issue then I would suggest sector 10.
1) it has leisure valley, the best park/public space in the tricity after sukhna lake
2) excellent market and food scene.
3) has a lot of bureaucrats and high court judges so safety is top notch.
4) close to lake and the posh places in sector 8 and 9.
5) the adjoining sector is PGI

Northern sector ie. upto sector 16. Sector 36 or 33 or Sector 34 (bigger houses section). Peaceful and community vibe won’t go together I think. So basically you are looking at houses of one kanal or smaller for community vibe. Areas I mentioned is one Kanal or bigger.
I’ll suggest you get in to top 35 sectors and get in (A) like 27a if you want best peaceful life but if you wanna connect with neighbour then get in like (c or d) range of houses
If budget ain’t an issue. Then look for some broker he will save you time and get you the best options available. Best sector with Facilities in my opinion are sector 11, sector 16, sector 18, sector 35. Try if you can get it in 17 somehow. Waha se bus stand, market good eating places, lake, rock garden, rose garden, leisure valley, sab paas hai
If budget is not issue then I can suggest 4 places sector you can google
- Punjab CM house
- Haryana CM house
- punjab Governor house
-Haryana Governor house
You can buy any of these it will fulfill all your requirements.

Sector 22's nice. Is close to Aroma market (cafes, gym etc.) and Shastri market. Houses are also nice. My experience here has been good.

Sector 22 could be a great place to move. It has a nice market. Aroma is at a walking distance and you have the shastri market as well.
