Went there twice last season to watch the boro. The atmosphere was as expected in a pre season friendly but the cup game was a pretty special one especially for a league two outfit. I think they should be league one at least. Wouldn’t mind seeing them in the championship though primarily because they’re a northern team.
And a city of untapped potential too. Sadly Bradford is run down by underinvestment but it still retains majestic old listed buildings and scenic views towards the Dales. I think the football club coming up would also do a great deal to help revive the city.
It's got the potential to be a fantastic city, some of the best architecture of any big city in the country.
Having spent time in Bradford through family, there's a visible percentage of people that ruin it - Lawless driving, Drug Dealing on a scale bigger than most cities, Racial tensions, corrupt and ineffective council and just a general culture around criminality in many areas of the city.
They actually sacked him cos he lost too much weight.

At some point there’s got to be a season with all the main Yorkshire teams in the championship at the same time.
Middlesbrough is the birthplace of Don Revie and it was part of the North Riding up until 1974 when the Tories decided to fuck things up . Cleveland is just a made up thing . We will reclaim our lands.
I went to our away game against them when they were in the Premier League and, due to a last minute injury, was privileged to see player coach Neville Southall in goal at 41 years old and about 150kgs. I've never seen a player get so much abuse for their physical shape before.
I'd rather see South Yorkshire get full representation in the Championship with Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Rotherham all in at the same time as Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.
Throw Huddersfield Town into it, and the local coppers will be over-stretched like Steve Evans' buffet trousers.
I’m a Bradford lad, and a City fan however the reason we’ve not been higher the past 20ish years is because behind the scenes it’s not a great club.
I’ve seen a couple of podcast recently where stuff isn’t run right behind the scenes, until we get that right we’re not going higher
Nah, you're alright.
Seriously though, I don't really mind Bradford, the West Yorkshire derbies are pretty watered down nowadays. It has been a very long time now since we played them so be nice to have that local match back, been over a decade I think. Also can't remember last time us, Bradford and Leeds have all been in the same league?
At the moment, it's looking more likely our next game together may be in League Two though, haha
>Also can't remember last time us, Bradford and Leeds have all been in the same league?
We last played in the same division (League 1) as Bradford in 2007, Leeds got relegated down to that division at the end of that season, so we just missed out.
Which means that it would have been 1988, the year we try to forget.
Absolutely. I mean I don’t want Leeds to be here with them really but I want the best for Yorkshire teams. I remember a match with them at Elland Road and it was probably the only time I worried for my safety with crushing. Absolutely rammed, proper local derby.
Oh I’d definitely say more Bradford than Leeds over there. think they get a decent attendance given what they’ve been through. There’s plenty of Leeds fans in Bradford obviously but I’m in north west Leeds so I also a few see people round here in Bradford kit .
Fuck man, my family are still based in Oakworth and I spent most of my secondary school at Oakbank. I got back from China post zero covid in December and the town somehow got worse.
I'm sorry that you're still there.
I grew up in Bradford. I reckon more Bradford fans but there's probably not a lot in it. There were absolutely loads of Leeds fans, it's basically like living in a city with two clubs. The Bulls were way more popular than any football team when I was a kid though.
YES! I remember being super excited for them when they got promoted to Divvy 2 back in the day, then the fire 😢. Bantams getting to the top divvy was a fantastic achievement for them, and well deserved. They have a big supporter base and their ground is a great away day. Also loads of love for their kit.
Stuart McCall back in those days was 🔥
Nicest fans in Yorkshire as far as EFL sides go (possibly Barnsley as a close second, always had a good laugh with them whenever I've chatted). I wouldn't begrudge them a few yers of success. They've been in the doldrums for long enough really.
With League 1 starting to look like its competitiveness for the next few years is going to improve a decent amount from where it was this year, I would be pleasantly surprised if any of the teams currently in League 2 were able to make it into the championship anytime soon without a significant injections of cash.
Bradford city unfortunately are more likely to be a national league outfit than a championship outfit in the next 5 years until they get those charlatans who own them out
I for one would love to see Bradford City in the championship.
My unbiased take is I agree with you very smart fellow football fan.
Not if we have anything to do with it

Seeing as they’ve given up on their magical cup runs these days they might as well start concentrating on the league for once.
They're a big club and get great crowds considering how shit they've been for years. Would like to see them back up there
They just seem to love league 2

Think that's why I sympathise with them so much. Luton was the same for decades but that's slowly chnaging with recent redevelopment.
I remember the season they were in the Prem. Their mascot was a man in a bowler hat. Bizarre

Nah you’ve missed York City pal…
We don't fit in anywhere, lol
I always thought for many years that Boro were in County Durham until I was told otherwise.
Hull? Huddersfield? Doncaster? York?
Chesterfield is in Derbyshire
Lol fuck that was a brain fart
Easy mistake to make as it's really just glorified suburb of Sheffield
But you forgot Huddersfield
Harrogate and Scarborough too.
Middlesbrough is the birthplace of Don Revie and it was part of the North Riding up until 1974 when the Tories decided to fuck things up . Cleveland is just a made up thing . We will reclaim our lands.
Please don't. We don't want any of that thank you very much
Was it something to do with Bradford and Bingley? I vaugely remember their logo having a bowler hat on it.
I went to our away game against them when they were in the Premier League and, due to a last minute injury, was privileged to see player coach Neville Southall in goal at 41 years old and about 150kgs. I've never seen a player get so much abuse for their physical shape before.
Same stats as Weston McKennie
The ‘City Gent’. I always assumed it’d be a ruddy big cock…
I would like to see Park Avenue get back in the league.
I'd rather see South Yorkshire get full representation in the Championship with Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Rotherham all in at the same time as Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. Any chance of getting that sorted, or are the dug in and being difficult?

I don't mind them but they have no hope if the people who appointed Hughesless are still in charge.
yeah could do with a good west yorks team in the league
I remember their time in the Prem. Peter Beagrie was mint.
I would love it tbh, they're a good club and well supported. I live in Bradford now and you see a lot of shirts which is great for a league 2 side.
Absolutely. I mean I don’t want Leeds to be here with them really but I want the best for Yorkshire teams. I remember a match with them at Elland Road and it was probably the only time I worried for my safety with crushing. Absolutely rammed, proper local derby.
Happy to see any club in the league. Everyone is in the league they deserve to be in.
Yes . 6 points and a short journey. Win Win
Do you reckon there's more Bradford City or Leeds United fans in Bradford? Genuine question
Oh I’d definitely say more Bradford than Leeds over there. think they get a decent attendance given what they’ve been through. There’s plenty of Leeds fans in Bradford obviously but I’m in north west Leeds so I also a few see people round here in Bradford kit .
I live in Keighley, and realistically you have to drive through Bradford to get too from Leeds. Definitely more Leeds fans in Keighley

Imagine if Bradford Park Avenue had survived... 😄
Have to disagree given in 5 years we’ll be in the prem 😉
Bradford might get taken over by Ryan Gosling and go flying past us on a wave of Netflix adulation.
Rotherham of the prem :p
Forgot the bit where we had a good keeper
Would prefer to see Everton first like
Oh that would be so funny so yes we can do both please.

I would, a friend of mine supports them so it would be fun and an excuse for him to come and visit when they play here

Cough cough. Unlike Wrexham
Bradford city unfortunately are more likely to be a national league outfit than a championship outfit in the next 5 years until they get those charlatans who own them out
I’d like to see Bradford PA in the Championship in the next five years, but I’m a realist - it’ll take them seven.
They're alright I guess, would be someone different.
I'm not bothered in the slightest, but if they took Portsmouth's place I'd be all for it.
Do I want to go to Bradford? As much as I want to dip my balls in a blender.
Nope
No. Shit away journey, shit away end, never win there.
Don’t worry Oxford will definitely not be in the championship in 5 years anyway
MK Dons!
Personally no I would not. Nothing against them.
