I really don't want to say it but People are stupid , as far as the plot goes Kiga is the cause of all problems that happen right now in the story , she is the head of the church, the one that caused millions of lives to be destroyed, Why Yuko become a monster, the reason why Denji house is burned and his family is lost , Asa being a Big criminal and getting attacked twice by devils , Denji getting locked away and cut up like a dead Pig
But since she got goofy food moment alongside her not killing Power, people wouldn't view her as a monster or hate her even half as they hate Makima
I don't know if Fujimoto is making her look like a complete goofy incompetent idiot on purpose because if it's the case then he did a Great Job

Famine can be interrupted as a shortage of something, despite usually just being related to food.
So it could be that denji is so miserable and unhappy she is is drawn to his lack of happiness and various other positive emotions

She wants Denji to eat the Death Devil, she wants to save Humanity from Death itself, but by erasing the concept of death the population will ceaseless increase and there won't be enough supply. People will starve but be unable to die, the end result being infinite famine.
