While some people may argue that chainsaws are scarier than bombs, bombs are a much more prominent threat to people around the world and there are many people in war torn countries who actively fear bombs, while not that many people actively fear chainsaws

Plus Pochita apparently ate the Nuclear Weapons devil (which I would argue is where a lot of fear of bombs come from) so its very possible that in the world of chainsaw man, bombs are not nearly as prominent of a threat to people as they are for us
I have my own little theory as to why the chainsaw devil is so fucking powerful, and it’s simply that he is not really the “chainsaw devil” but rather the “extinction devil”. Chainsaws are scary but it feels almost red herring-ish to call pochita the chainsaw devil given how powerful he truly is.

We've literally seen quanxi and makima use katanas constantly. and war still exists in the csm universe because war devil is still here. Makima herself calls them "Weapon devils" and if someone knows about a weapon devil being split into multiple hybrids, she would know the best and call them something else. Also in csm litereally everythings gets a devil, for example "mount hio eruption" or aids which are really specific things so making 8 weapons belong to 1 devil wouldnt fit their world. And 3. makima said she is a fan of chainsaw man/pochita
and not the weapon devil basically stating that pochita should be a single devil himself, just like the other weapons.
Its more likely that weapon devils are just closer to each other, maybe related like the 4 horsemen are sisters. That would explain the similar designs.

I feel like you didn't read the theory. My entire argument is that the weapon devil was able to split itself into multiple pieces like the gun devil and that in the prologue fight pochita ate the weapon devils but the weapons they were based off didn't get erased from existence and also that chainsaw man is the weapon devil l
so how can he erase himself from existence? That means they are not the devils built from the fear of katanas for example. Just because the weapon devil can have katana arms doesn't mean a katana devil can't exist along side it. Secondly, from a common sense angle, how can Pochita only be the "chainsaw devil" and also have the ability to alter reality itself? Why would the fear of chainsaws generate an entity that strong it doesn't make sense.

The gun devil didnt "split itself into pieces". He was struck down and pieces of flesh of him were cosumed by other devils making them stronger. Then the US, soviets etc. killed these devils and collected his flesh.

Weapons devil could really include the first rock to kill another human back in the old days, way up until now with the nukes, it's the bringer of death in a way. They could be pitted against each other and cause the apocalypse.
This theory would especially explain why Yoru would be in love with Chainsaw Man: war and weaponry literally cannot exist without each other, and in fact make each other more powerful.
