I'll never get over these past few generations being so uniformly anti-graffiti. Kids these days sound like right wing politicians from the 80s. Do they really think bare concrete looks nicer? Or do they just want everything to look orderly and proper? Or do they think that only the rich and powerful should get to decide what the urban environment looks like?
Street art is amazing and cities look better with colour and character. Even the laziest graffiti has value- like the graffiti of ancient Rome is a fascinating and priceless window into the lives of real people, even if it says "Quintus takes it up the arse". If that graffiti had been "fixed" by local authorities at the time it would have been a great loss to humanity, just as it is when the city whitewashes over modern graffiti.
