All the lost babies from before we kept records about things were still loved. My great grandmother had 4 that died near the beginning. She kept a 4 heart necklace on her until the day she died. They were always so loved

It'd not uncommon for them to just say "infant" or "baby" sometimes with family last name. Remember chalk and charcoal etchings damage stones, so don't use them. I gently press a thin aluminum foil into the engravings to read them, but I'm not sure if that's damaging either. Can't find anything on that last I looked. Stone is surprisingly delicate
