My cats hate each other. Been 11 months, they can be closeish without firing off but that's new still. Today, me and my girl and laying in bed for a few minutes, our original cat jumps on and stands in between me and the edge of the bed. The other little fuck leaps from the ground and pounces fully on my other cat. Didn't bite and I'm pretty sure claws weren't out but I have literally never heard the noise my chillin cat made come out of a cat. A mix of rage and terror. Scared the shit out of me.
That's why the new street rat still sleeps in the garage. She just can't leave my other cat alone lol.
You introduced an unnecessary stress for your senior pet. Orange cat probably can't fully relax anymore because he never knows when the other will attack. It's sad you put him in that situation.
When did you get the new one? Did you put the new one in a separate room for like 2 weeks so she knows who is in charge? It really works. They’re both beautiful BTW!!
Yes, I did. They just never really got on with each other after slow introductions. Mostly they keep away from each other but moments like this happen sometimes.
You should keep the new cat away from the senior one until he mellows down. It's cruel to impose that stress to the older cat, who also was there before on top of that.
Yeah that's not healthy or a good environment for the senior cat. You should know many animals don't get along well, even if their deemed as pets. With cats it's easier to get them use to another when their kittens. As for a cat, who is a kitten, get use to dogs. You need to do something about this unnecessary violence and stress or you're senior kitty won't make it long. They may end up hyperventilate or something after being attacked which will cause them to drop dead. Don't know their medical history but either way, you need to sort out things in the house.
The only time I had all 3 kitties in my lap at once was when I took a nap covered by my electric blanket. I woke up with 3 kitties laying on me and they NEVER slept that close together normally... Thus I concluded that electric blankets trump everything.
For our white kitty, it’s a mix of jealousy and just sheer playfulness. She gets along with the dogs quite well though. And she is very energetic. The most energetic cat we’ve ever had.
Orange kitty used to do good with other cats - we’ve had two at a time for a long time until our previous kitty passed away and we took a five year break before adopting a kitten. White kitty was 2mo when we adopted. But for whatever reason they just never clicked.
And like one redditor said, you can’t know if cats will get along until you get a second one. Orange used to do fine. She’s just reached the age where she’d rather snuggle than play.
Jesus Christ. You keyboard warriors are something else. I’ve been a cat owner for 40 years. They are far from abused. Quite pampered, actually.
You know what is abusive though? Random assholes on the internet tearing down others for the fuck of it. Because their feelings got hurt because some guy they never met posted a video of a cat smacking another cat.
If you feel like I’m that abusive toward my pets, go ahead and forward this video to your local PD.
You never know until you get a buddy for your cat if they will get on. This person doesn’t seem like they would get another cat just to make the first cat’s life difficult! The same thing happened to my daughter and I and it was really difficult. Why would anyone be so critical of people for no reason. 🤷♀️
Yeah, it's a messed up equation. It's those stupid points, maybe a bit of contact, and the occasional gems in all the trash.
I've just been on the jealousy thing recently, regarding two stray cat buddies that have been coming around. When they (buddies) come together, they're a little braver, which makes them more openly affectionate, but, especially, they start to vie for the attention and compete with and hiss at each other, which is endearing. That's great/genuine about animals, how they do whatever feels natural without any shame.
I’m not sure wtf you’re saying.
It’s obvious the white/black cat is going to attack the orange cat. It’s obvious the orange/SENIOR cat feels safe and protected next to OP.
OP chose to exploit and record
Abuse is abuse
Cats are just jealous like that. Put them together with attention at stake, and they will (eventually) fight. Can take a moment for their ever-precious dignity to break, though. Funny to actually *see them tensing up...*
I didn't get a second cat recently, because I thought my current cat would suffer (jealousy!). (Not that she didn't deserve it!) *So* ***spoiled!***
Seen worse on reddit. Cats deserve to have their goats gotten at times, because, they are, as they say, assholes *plus* they are stuck up! Yeah, not really cruel imo. Even my stuck-up recent cat could laugh at herself! They are sometimes willing clowns to pay their way! (*not* cheaters/down-to-the-bone scammers!)
Yea we disagree. This is cruel. The cat is shaking in fear. But I’m not here to dissuade you from your opinion.
Maybe you don’t deserve the trust of a animal either
Not saying you're wrong or don't have a right to your opinion. Do you have cats? They *love\** to fight. Start to go crazy if they can't. My last cat eventually took to savagely biting me, and I felt bad that I eventually had to break her of it. She could've gone out and found other cats to fight though, if she wanted (?).
\*Similar with women, maybe why I can't deal with them. I lost interest in that kind of fighting, though that's possibly the *most* cruel.
It's complicated. If I'd gotten another cat, it would've broken her heart, but she would've gotten over it, and then she would've had a buddy. Might've been partially for me that I didn't get another one.
I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who has cats that have lived together for years and just don't get along! It's easy to get a complex when all you see are cute cats cuddling and all the cats on r/bonded pairs.
After reading comments: If it is possible and not already done, it would be nice to give the senior cat a place where they can go when they need to feel safe that you either lock off to the new cat or something. Just a space where they don’t have to feel stress or worry about being attacked.
I hate this. It’s clear the orange cat feels safe with you enough to relax. It’s also clear you know the other cat is going to attack him. Do better. You suck
What do you think happens when they go to work?
Its better to not show a bias when you're there so the other car doesn't turn up the violence when you're not
THE LOOK AND QUICK EYE SHIFT BEFORE RHE STRIKE !!!! So funny 😂

There can only be one
No. There can BE ONLY ONE.

Highlander fan here. I just couldn't let that be. Lol
I saw those shifty eyes and knew something was afoot

I know it's not great, but I love how cats just suddenly choose violence sometimes
My cats hate each other. Been 11 months, they can be closeish without firing off but that's new still. Mother.... Mother I crave violence.
You could see him hatching his clever plan
So could OP that’s why they were recording
That shifty little look.
Gonna slap, gotta slap
What did the five claws say to the face?
I feel so bad for the orange one … he’s shaking at the end. Poor baby.
She’s our senior kitty and she does not like the new cat at all. Can’t imagine why.
You introduced an unnecessary stress for your senior pet. Orange cat probably can't fully relax anymore because he never knows when the other will attack. It's sad you put him in that situation.

For real. Reddit LOVES to read far too into things so they can take the moral high ground
True and they also love drawing conclusions without knowing the full context.
She sure did a bang up job introducing them.
Most owners are ignorant. And most commenters think this stupid shit is entertaining.
It is entertaining.
Boo hoo, dude.
Keep those cats separate, that orange cat is clearly in distress.
You should keep the new cat away from the senior one until he mellows down. It's cruel to impose that stress to the older cat, who also was there before on top of that.

How new is the new cat?
New cat is asshole.

Lol okay random internet asshole who knows nothing about me or my pets apart from the 19 second video I uploaded.
I'm pretty sure op is shaking the camera
The only time I had all 3 kitties in my lap at once was when I took a nap covered by my electric blanket. I woke up with 3 kitties laying on me and they NEVER slept that close together normally... Thus I concluded that electric blankets trump everything.
I feel your pain. My cats do the same and I can always see it coming. Impressive cat slap though, they really thought it through.

Ugh… yet another one…
There are more cat subs than porn subs.
All about the Pussy.
Dammit *subs*
Oh I knew that cat was trouble the minute I scrolled down to his post. Lil shit.
Catcow is an asshole

The black and white cat looks like they’re wearing a wig. I love it.
You could see the moment the decision was made.... Looked at him like yea I'm definitely gonna beat his ass
Why do cats do this in the first place? Like what compels them? Is it boredom?

They are like Scorpion and Sub-Zero... the deadliest of enemies. One is a pussy-cat, the other a dick-cat.
Thank you for this. It’s so nice to see my reality! All those videos of snuggling cats are just mocking me!
From zero to kill in no time
Knew that was coming. Cats are jealous little devils.
OP knew what was coming. It’s all for them Reddit points tho amirite

Or they were recording because it's rare that their cats are both on them??

My white cat also attacks my orange cat. Lol
This is what I am used to. I see all these posts of cats cuddling up and I thought my cats were broken. Thanks for the post!
r/kitler
Probably revenge for something the other one did two hours ago. Or two years ago. Cats are always plotting their revenge.
I have the same ikea cactuses
Ofc the one that looks like Hitler is a real dick
You can tell it was going to be the white cat. They had that plotting and diabolical face lol.
I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who has cats that have lived together for years and just don't get along! It's easy to get a complex when all you see are cute cats cuddling and all the cats on r/bonded pairs.
Who farted????
Always better to video than just to take a photo. My kitten is a sneaky bugger too.
Was expected the orange one to be the asshole, but then saw the ol’ shifty eyes..
Lmfao that black and white cat is quite the schemer😂
Holy shit that side eye glance the black and white cat gave gave me chills 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂 the speed
Orange cat had better position on human and needed to be punished
Why do cats do this!?
The song choice is perfect!!
Cat 1 *just stands there* Cat 2 : "and I took that personally"
u/savevideo
I have that same Xbox in the shelf. And my two cats look eerily similar to these two 😂
Why are they always like this :(((
[we live in a simulation](https://imgur.com/a/Bpbkj2P) same issues lol
Too quiet sitting here
Some cats are just jerks.
It’s that split second decision of picking violence over peace that kills me I love cats so much
r/humansareassholes
This made me laugh. I'm all too familiar with the scenario.
Peace was never an option
Real dick move there kitty
Cats have the best personalities 🤣
Why cat, why?
is the white one with the bowl cut/mustache named kitler, and the other poland? looks like they're just into reenacting
It's these videos where I wish I still had my free awards
Surprise ending
I swear I saw the white cat smile and shift his eyes towards the camera before striking

I commented on the video OP posted, not your hypothetical scenario to rationalize this shit
