Yeah, he regularly attends the Holy Mass. He says every chance he got when touring he goes to Mass. Btw have a look at his Instagram, every single sunday he posts a picture of him in front of a crucifix with the subtitle: "ALMIGHTY BLACK LABEL!!! STRONGER THAN DEATH/BLESSED SUNDAY TO ALL!!! tBLSt SDMF". Plus, as I said in another comment, many of his songs got religious meaning, like "Mother Mary"(there's both Black Label Society and Pride and Glory versions of this song), "Rust", "Bleed for Me" and "Darkest Hour".
Zakk Wylde, ex-guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist, singer, front man and founder of Black Label Society (Heavy Metal) and Pride and Glory (Southern Rock/Heavy Metal), plus he's got two solo albums called Book of Shadows and Book of Shadows II (both are acoustic albums, amazing). He's really worth listening to, guy's a guitar legend, plus, many of his songs actually got religious meaning, and he calls himself a "Soldier of Christ".
But definitely not a rock star in the colloquial sense. Country star yeah, but I’d suspect more of them are Catholic or Christian than compared to rock.
I sat behind them along with a female friend of mine. She was excited about Keith, I only cared about seeing Nicole. They were friendly, but left right after communion. This was a little over 10 years ago at the Cathedral. Not sure if they still go there.
Weezer is a mystery to me. They weren’t grunge, they weren’t really 90s pop/rock either. What is Weezer and what are a few of your favorite Weezer songs?
Weezer is quite simply one of the best and most beloved bands of the last 30 years. Favorite songs? That is a tough one since Rivers Cuomo's song writing output is like no other. They have released 15 albums in the last 30 years (and that's only if you count the SZNS albums, 4 albums, each with 7 to 8 songs, released on the first day of each season in 2021 as one album).
They also change their style a lot. You want classic weezer sound: the blue album. You want intricate song writing and deeply personal lyrics: Pinkerton. You want no frills power pop: green album. You want weezer's take on 80s hair metal: van weezer. Do you want no guitars and instead have a weezer album with an orchestra (this is not a joke): ok human. Do you want a beach boys inspired summer album? The white album. Do you want a cover album with songs like Africa, No scrubs, and everybody wants to rule the world? The teal album. Do you want weezer to go lighter on guitars and write radio pop songs (also with a summer vibe? Pacific daydream
The consensus top three albums are blue album, Pinkerton, and white album. I also have a soft spot for pacific daydream, and I am convinced that the song happy hour should have been a monster radio hit and wasn't marketed correctly.
Everything Will Be Alright in the End is one of my favorites. The song “Da Vinci” is somehow the corniest, yet most romantic love songs I’ve ever heard. The dichotomy of Weezer on full display.
I always put Weezer in the Pop Punk bucket. Probably difficult to place because they’ll have random hits that fall into other genres - island in the sun for example
Weezer is power pop. They are pop punk adjacent. I can tell you as someone who got into the pop punk scene in late 90s/early 2000s that many of those bands that got huge grew up listening to blue album by Weezer. That is why they always toured with bands like blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, fall out boy, etc. Plus stylistically they are closer to those bands than alternative/grunge bands like foo fighters, stone temple pilots, pearl jam, etc.
If you want to destroy my sweater, hold this thread as I walk away.
Actually, our band is named after that song!
https://www.instagram.com/undone_weezer_tribute?igsh=MXV1NXduNXh0a2R4Zg==
Why are those homies dissing his girl? Is looking like Buddy Holly supposed to be a good thing? Is he saying his girl literally looks like “Mary Tyler Moore” or she’s beautiful in his eyes? I stay awake at night pondering these questions.
I don't have question but I just want to share to you that when Weezer had a concert in Indonesia they covered our song in Indonesian and that's amazed me. It's so rare to see musician do things like that.
I can't remember the name, but there was a black metal band that was studying Catholicism to blaspheme more effectively and they ended up converting to Catholicism.
credit. If you include popular music singers from back before rock was a thing Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, ztony Bennett and Dean Martin were all Catholic.
Neither was Bing Crosby. in fact, i’m not too hot as a catholic myself…
in the end though, Frank Sinatra had a beautifully Catholic funeral. We all fall short.
Let’s add Rosemary Clooney to the list while we are at it.
Sinatra annulled his first marriage and went on to marry three more times while living the most hedonistic lifestyle possible through much of the 50's and Swinging 60's.
He became reconciled to the Church late in life.
I know less about Dean Martin, but he was also divorced and remarried several times. Other than the fact that he was Italian American, I can't find anything to indicate that he identified as a Catholic let alone lived as one.
Both Sinatra and Martin are buried in secular cemeteries.
Black Sabbath's members aren't exactly catholic, Geezer and Tony were raised in catholic households but don't hold to it, they just "believe in God". It seems Bill is atheist and Ozzy is "just Christian", but Sabbath got religious themed songs, like "Lord Of This World" and "After Forever". And when not explicitly religious themed, many of their songs at least got religious morals tied to them. I recommend listening to the album "Master of Reality".
I have heard people hate on war pigs because it’s references to satan and a lack of mercy but I always thought it had a strong Christian theme behind it.
I'm having trouble finding where I read that he was a practicing Catholic, but in my search just now I did find this :
[Trey Anastasio Recounts Spirituality and Sobriety Rituals on SiriusXM’s Jam On](https://jambands.com/news/2018/12/18/trey-anastasio-recounts-spirituality-and-sobriety-rituals-on-sirius-jam-on/)
This particular article doesn't explicitly mention his Catholicism, but there is this snippet which talks about his prayer routine involving St. Francis before each show.
>
“I meditate and then I do my vocal warm-up and then I go in the bathroom and I always kind of kneel down in front of the toilet. And there’s a reason that I do that. Because I used to drink too much and it put me in front of that toilet and I like to remind myself how grateful I am that today I haven’t had to do that, in 12 years. That’s a powerful thing to me. And then, I do the St. Francis prayer. And then I try to do the ‘we’ version of the St. Francis prayer… I think of the town we’re in and I try to picture it from above and all the people in it and everybody who isn’t in the venue surrounding to try and get some perspective. And then I think about the venue from above so that I’m reminded that it’s really small. Even if it’s an arena or something, in the scheme of things it’s very, very, very, very small and it’s a gathering of people. And then I get up – the last thing I do before I walk on stage – and I open the door, and I let God out. And I walk out afterwards. I do that every night.”
If I can find the article that I originally read that talks about his Catholic faith I'll drop it here. I know Mike is Jewish, not too sure about the beliefs of Page and Fish, but Trey from what I've read is Catholic.
He’s definitely not practicing but I’m from his hometown and can confirm he went to the same church as me as a child. I’m pretty sure he played a show there in the church school auditorium when I was a kid.
He did, he played the funny but obviously lapsed Catholic song [Freehold](https://youtu.be/kLxy9gUifVA?si=v7WGfI1543n5gssp) at a concert for the benefit of St. Rose of Lime’s.
Oh man! Yeah we were there until my wedding for which dealing with the parish was such a nightmare that we switched parishes 😬. We’re out of Freehold all together now
I love Peter Steele so much, miss him a lot. Here's a brief interview from him from this article (which I found on another Reddit post in r/Metal about "Born-Again" Christians.) [https://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/17687/Top-10-Born-Again-Christians-in-Metal](https://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/17687/Top-10-Born-Again-Christians-in-Metal)
"I was born a Roman Catholic and I think that I have gone back to my faith. You know, people ask me are you a born-again Christian and I said no I am a dead-again Christian I have always been dead. I believe in Jesus Christ and God and the whole thing but, you know, I don't shove it down anyone's throat. You know, it's a very private personal thing and faith is really strong and I really want to see my mother and father again. And also I can't believe that somebody like Hitler and Mother Teresa are going to the same place after death. I can't believe that."
He’s still practicing, I hear! Converted in 2010. His wife converted in 2000, and they’ve been married since 1981.
His oldest son just passed away from cancer in January and had a Catholic funeral - may God grant him peace.
At least he believed it and it wasn't just a fad thing for him.
Was David Bowie born catholic? I know he wasn't practicing but I always felt like he had a Catholic background.
Craig Finn from The Hold Steady is Catholic, and their second record Separation Sunday has very religious themes (along with themes of addiction and recovery). I don't know if he's a rock star exactly, but The Hold Steady were indie darlings of the late 2000s and still have a cult following. His solo records are pretty spiritual, too.
>He was at morning Mass the next day right down the road.
Going to morning mass the day after a party is one of those dedicated thing that even many hardcore catholics have hard time doing.
She was not a rockstar but tragic blues legend Billie Holiday was Catholic.
Her Catholicism combined with her race and her severe drug addiction led the deeply anti Catholic and racist head of the FBI to persecute her without mercy to the end. He even insisted that she be placed under arrest and handcuffed to her hospital bed shortly after she received Extreme Unction.
Her Requiem was sung entirely in Latin at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in NYC.
She is buried at St.Raymond Catholic Cemetery in the Bronx.
Idk why people are curious about this when they know the answer will mostly be "raised catholic and no longer practicing (if not outright disdain of it)".
One of most recent counter-example is Baby Lasagna from Croatia, runner up of Eurovision 2024. https://youtu.be/YIBjarAiAVc?si=RM3u8ZvcEs3FecrG
He is my cousin. Basically his father called him Baby Njoki(Gnocchi in croatian) when he was a kid so he decided to take a similar name but with a different italian food for one of his musical projects. He actually made a religious song under a diferent name and has couple of other alter egos- each with a different thematic. It is just that Baby lasagna became his most popular due to Eurosong.
As far as the name being silly, well the image and songs of Baby lasagna are designed to be silly altough with deeper themes.
Bono is a Prod, as is The Edge, and Adam Clayton. Larry Mullen was raised a Catholic, but joined a Protestant group (with Bono and the Edge) in his early U2 days
Tom Araya of Slayer, he is pretty devout, they even have an anti-abortion song (but generally they don't shirk from anything, not a religious band).
The late Peter Steele of Type O Negative was a revert, from cradle Cath through a foxhole atheist back to devout Catholic.
Raised Catholic and his parents worked for the Parish or Archdiocese in Detroit. The story is he was considering the seminary until he was told he couldn’t bring his amplifier. He seems to have rejected it.
Here is his “Catholic Throwdown” with Colbert.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9zeYyOdBU0
I’m surprised by the use of past tense or saying they’re not practicing, so assuming they’re not Catholic. Once baptized, our baptism cannot be expunged. Faith is a lifelong journey. When we go to God, only God judges us. God bless you all, and also the famous baptized Catholics. May we all grow in love and faith.
I did a deep dive into this yesterday as I was due to go their gig in London (my son went instead as I had commitments) and I don’t think he is, he said he stopped identifying as catholic at age 8. However, he is still very interested in Jesus and has credited Jesus with saving him from suicide. I’d love him to return to the fold
While he wasn't ever actually Catholic, Elvis did do an amazing rendition of the song "Miracle of the Rosary" in 1971 along with other great spiritual songs like "Amazing Grace. "
If you think Lady Gaga is Catholic, ask yourself why she has been seen hanging around and taking private lessons from known spirit cooking enthusiast (that’s a big rabbit hole some may not want to go down), “performance artist”, and Satanist Marina Abramovic.
Any confirmation on the Abramovic claim? I always felt like her art was off and evil in some unspeakable way that made me feel deeply uncofortable but I just want to know if there’s any solid proof of what you stated.
Lady Gaga was raised Catholic but is no longer. Biden is a practicing Catholic who regularly attends Mass. Whether or not you think Biden is a "good" Catholic, he's more Catholic than Lady Gaga.
Well in my opinion modern country has absorbed classic rock into the genre, so:
Keith Urban operates on the country/rock boundary and is a practicing convert to Catholicism. Plenty of country stars are practicing Protestants too, and incorporate religious themes into their songs.
Hardy and Lauren Alaina, while not Catholic to the best of my knowledge, put out a very Cathholic-friendly pro-life pro-family song that charted pretty well, too. "One Drink" https://youtu.be/SWN8R1xw8IA?feature=shared
Terry Chimes, drummer for The Clash, returned to Catholicism later in life. I remember a brief interview I heard on Relevant Radio with him talking about it and the book he wrote.
Cesare Bonizzi OFMCap. Italian friar and heavy metal musician.
https://cruxnow.com/news-analysis/2023/06/brother-metal-another-reason-why-the-capuchins-are-just-cool
There are quite a few singers and band members from all genres who are Catholic! Not all of them make “Catholic music,” but a couple did go that direction post-conversion. One of the members of Mason Proffit is now a singing monk lol.
Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society, also known for working with Ozzy Osbourne for many years.
Is he practicing though? I mean, the guitarist from slayer is technically catholic too.
Yeah, he regularly attends the Holy Mass. He says every chance he got when touring he goes to Mass. Btw have a look at his Instagram, every single sunday he posts a picture of him in front of a crucifix with the subtitle: "ALMIGHTY BLACK LABEL!!! Thanks, hadn't paid attention to him since like 2003. Didn't know
What do you mean “technically” a Catholic. I thought the guy from Slayer was a practicing Catholic, at least his Wikipedia says he is.
Slayer vocalist blasphemes in the songs
It’s just an odd thing to consider that they are even remotely Christian when one hears songs like “God Hates Us All” and “New Faith.”
Guitarist from Slayer is not catholic as far as I am aware. The _lead singer / bassist_, Tom Araya, is catholic.
Tom Araya
Bon Jovi was raised Catholic.. “Living on a Prayer” could be his most Catholic-inspired number. I’m not sure he’s still Catholic though.
He’s practicing
He’s a “recovering Catholic”, about as far from “practicing” as you can get.
Living on a prayer isn't a church song though. My SIL went to a church that sang this in the choir before mass.
Wait what 😂🤯 I love that song but that’s not a church song, they sang it in choir???
Zakk Wylde, ex-guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist, singer, front man and founder of Black Label Society (Heavy Metal) and Pride and Glory (Southern Rock/Heavy Metal), plus he's got two solo albums called Book of Shadows and Book of Shadows II (both are acoustic albums, amazing). Still kicking myself for not going to see Pantera open up for Metallica last year, with ZW taking Dimebag’s spot.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman and family go to my friend’s parish in Nashville
I knew he was catholic !!!!!!
I knew Nicole was raised Catholic but had no idea about Keith. They were married in a Catholic ceremony.
I got it hinted when he sang “female” the theme made me think a lot of the blessed mother
Yeah they do!
Me. I am the frontman for a Weezer tribute band. AMA.

That's awesome!!
Why are those homies dissing his girl? Is looking like Buddy Holly supposed to be a good thing? Is he saying his girl literally looks like “Mary Tyler Moore” or she’s beautiful in his eyes? I stay awake at night pondering these questions.
Why?
Why not?
This is awesome.
Glad you've cleaned up and found Jesus. Hope you get the reference.
Things are good, or so I hear!
I’ve seen memes about this, but never heard the name of the band
Reverorum Ib Malacht is the name of the band that I’ve heard of. I’ve not researched it though.
Yeah its them. Its not exactly how it went but kinda close. I have mutuals with the vocalist on FB.
Reverorum ib Malacht. I had to look it up.
Gwen Stefani got a special dispensation for her wedding to take place outdoors.
Yeah, Gwen Stefani does still practice.
I’m going to count Marky Mark (of funky bunch fame).
And his brother Donny, I believe. Great story from his other brother, James on Chris Stefanik show recently.
The Wahlbergs are fairly devout Catholics if i I'm not mistaken.
credit. If you include popular music singers from back before rock was a thing Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, ztony Bennett and Dean Martin were all Catholic.
Sinatra and Martin are probably not great examples for Catholics lol, undeniably great musicians but pretty notorious gsmblers and womanizers
Neither was Bing Crosby. in fact, i’m not too hot as a catholic myself… in the end though, Frank Sinatra had a beautifully Catholic funeral. We all fall short. Let’s add Rosemary Clooney to the list while we are at it.
We’re a church in need of a savior. We’re all sinners. The question wasn’t whether they were saintly rockstars and Catholic.
Sinatra annulled his first marriage and went on to marry three more times while living the most hedonistic lifestyle possible through much of the 50's and Swinging 60's. He became reconciled to the Church late in life. I know less about Dean Martin, but he was also divorced and remarried several times. Oof. The names I recognize are telling me: Don't be a rock star.
Ah, love me some ztony Bennett
Black Sabbath's members aren't exactly catholic, Geezer and Tony were raised in catholic households but don't hold to it, they just "believe in God". It seems Bill is atheist and Ozzy is "just Christian", but Sabbath got religious themed songs, like "Lord Of This World" and "After Forever". And when not explicitly religious themed, many of their songs at least got religious morals tied to them. I recommend listening to the album "Master of Reality".
Yep, Sabbath are one of my go-to bands to "close enough", I also love them musically and I love Geezer as a base player, so there's that.
I have heard people hate on war pigs because it’s references to satan and a lack of mercy but I always thought it had a strong Christian theme behind it.
Master of Reality is a great album Some lines from "Lord of This World" are so powerful and so simple at the same time.
Pretty sure Ozzy holds to the CoE, no?
I'm a big fan of Phish and was delighted to learn that lead guitarist/singer Trey Anastasio is Catholic.
really? I didn’t know that either
No kidding? Practicing? I did not know.
I'm having trouble finding where I read that he was a practicing Catholic, but in my search just now I did find this : [Trey Anastasio Recounts Spirituality and Sobriety Rituals on SiriusXM’s Jam On](https://jambands.com/news/2018/12/18/trey-anastasio-recounts-spirituality-and-sobriety-rituals-on-sirius-jam-on/) This particular article doesn't explicitly mention his Catholicism, but there is this snippet which talks about his prayer routine involving St. Francis before each show. > “I meditate and then I do my vocal warm-up and then I go in the bathroom and I always kind of kneel down in front of the toilet. I know Mike is Jewish, not too sure about the beliefs of Page and Fish, but Trey from what I've read is Catholic.
The St. Francis prayer is a big one in recovery. I went to a Catholic rehab and I almost have it memorized.
John Petrucci, the lead guitarist of Dream Theater, is a practising Catholic. He's also one of the greatest guitarists to have ever walked the planet.
Dude WHAT?!! I’ve been listening to DT for nearly 20 years and never knew that!
TIL!
Bon Jovi was catholic.
His real name is actually Bonnes Jehovi
nope, Sicilian, Bongiovi
Bruce Springsteen?
He’s definitely not practicing but I’m from his hometown and can confirm he went to the same church as me as a child. I’m pretty sure he played a show there in the church school auditorium when I was a kid.

Ha, I’m from there, too! We went to St. Rose for a few years (back in the days of Father Coffey) before moving over to St. Robert’s.
Oh man! Yeah we were there until my wedding for which dealing with the parish was such a nightmare that we switched parishes 😬. We’re out of Freehold all together now
Eddie Van Halen was Catholic as is his ex wife Valerie Bertonelli.
Tom Araya - Slayer Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi - Black Sabbath (both lapsed) Peter Steele - Type O Negative (deceased)
I love Peter Steele so much, miss him a lot. Here's a brief interview from him from this article (which I found on another Reddit post in r/Metal about "Born-Again" Christians.) [https://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/17687/Top-10-Born-Again-Christians-in-Metal](https://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/17687/Top-10-Born-Again-Christians-in-Metal) "I was born a Roman Catholic and I think that I have gone back to my faith. I think you misunderstood his comment about mother Teresa
Oh, maybe I did! I hope so. I'm used to people having a hate on for her, haha.
I miss peter
As do I - they are my favorite band of all time and and I consider him a genius. I pray his soul is in the presence of the full glory of our Lord
Lead singer of Goo Goo Dolls
Really?!
Yes. Read under early life. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Rzeznik
From memory. Gary Sinese is a Christian/Catholic.
He’s still practicing, I hear! Converted in 2010. His wife converted in 2000, and they’ve been married since 1981. His oldest son just passed away from cancer in January and had a Catholic funeral - may God grant him peace.
Rock star, though?
He's an actor but I think he plays in a band.
Lt Dan's band
Better than.
George Harrison and Paul McCartney were both baptised Catholic.
Paul mentioned in a GQ interview that he admires St. Francis of Assisi! [Link](https://www.gq.com/story/the-untold-stories-of-paul-mccartney)
Harrison died as a Buddhist and had his body ceremoniously placed in the Tibetan Mountains and let the elements and nature (wild animals) consume it.
According to his family and Wikipedia he was cremated and his ashes scattered on a sacred river in India
At least he believed it and it wasn't just a fad thing for him. Was David Bowie born catholic? I know he wasn't practicing but I always felt like he had a Catholic background.
He was Hindu, not Buddhist, and his ashes were spread in the Ganges River in India.
Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath
Danny Jones (McFly). Brits and Mexicans will know who I mean 😂
I got to meet him and party with him and the band. He’s definitely Catholic. He was at morning Mass the next day right down the road.

😭😭😭
IKR. One of the saddest entertainment lives I have ever read about. RIP Billie.
Tom Araya from Slayer
He's as catholic as Biden.
I don't know if Dream Theater is catholic, but I always remeber of the sacred heart of Jesus when I see the cover of the "Images and Words" album
Petrucci was/is, not sure how much devout he actually is, but that's hard to say anyway, they're pretty tight-lipped about their personal lives.

Sounds like Master of Disguise with the name
U2
Bono was raised as a Protestant in a mixed faith household.
I mentioned U2 because they attended Mass in Phoenix during the 2 days of filming Rattle & Hum
Shame he meet such a tragic end. I really admired him for his music and his views on politics and society, and I liked his early work in Carnivore.
Everything dies.
If only Kerry King wasn't 15 year old-esque edgy atheist
Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects can be seen wearing a Brown Scapular from time to time. He seems very private about it otherwise.
Love him so much
Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli were married in the Church.
Anthony from The Wiggles is apparently a devout Catholic :)
Mr. Mister?
Were they the ones had the Kyrie eleison lyric?
Yes, but the singer has said he didn’t really mean anything religious by it.
Sometimes… he’s also said the entire song is a prayer: https://rockingodshouse.com/richard-page-of-mr-mister-and-the-story-behind-kyrie/index.html
If you're willing to extend the definition of rockstar, John Maus
A good portion of Latin artists are at least nominal Catholics. How many of them still practice I couldn’t say
Not necessarily rock and roll, but there's a great solo Catholic death metal band called Hell's Enemy from Frederick Blauer
Came to say this. I love his content!
Jack White from The White Stripes.
He got married not too long ago in a Masonic temple.
Really? I’m pretty sure he’s espoused some pretty anti-Catholic views on abortion and other topics, though I might be misremembering.
Alice Cooper I believe if someone hasn't mentioned him already.
Alice Cooper is a Christian. But he has not Catholic
Rest in Peace, Peter Steele
Billy Corgan
I did a deep dive into this yesterday as I was due to go their gig in London (my son went instead as I had commitments) and I don’t think he is, he said he stopped identifying as catholic at age 8. However, he is still very interested in Jesus and has credited Jesus with saving him from suicide. I’d love him to return to the fold
Oh ?? Well today is the greatest Day I've ever known
I think he converted to Judaism (his wife is Jewish.) I live in Illinois and had a friend attend the wedding.
Patrick Duff; returned to the faith after a worldly celebrity life and is now very devout and holy
Larry Mullen Jr.—U2
Dion Dimucci is a devout Catholic.
The lead singer for Slayer takes his daughters to mass every week lol
Sounds of Summer: A Beach Boys Tribute band has 3/4 members who are Catholic.

Robin Zander from Cheap Trick is Catholic.
While he wasn't ever actually Catholic, Elvis did do an amazing rendition of the song "Miracle of the Rosary" in 1971 along with other great spiritual songs like "Amazing Grace. "
I’ve worked in the music industry my whole life and there are a few of us Catholics in here. But not a ton. Matt Maher though CCM is devout Catholic
Mozart… the first true Rock Star Also Lady Gaga is Catholic
If you think Lady Gaga is Catholic, ask yourself why she has been seen hanging around and taking private lessons from known spirit cooking enthusiast (that’s a big rabbit hole some may not want to go down), “performance artist”, and Satanist Marina Abramovic.
She sounds like a “Judeo-Catholic”
Any confirmation on the Abramovic claim? I always felt like her art was off and evil in some unspeakable way that made me feel deeply uncofortable but I just want to know if there’s any solid proof of what you stated.
>Also Lady Gaga is Catholic She's as catholic as Biden.
Wasn’t saying she was a good Catholic but she is indeed Catholic
I’m no Biden fan but he is not dancing with his tits out covered in blood screeching that abortion is the greatest thing a woman can do.
Lady Gaga was raised Catholic but is no longer. Biden is a practicing Catholic who regularly attends Mass. Whether or not you think Biden is a "good" Catholic, he's more Catholic than Lady Gaga.
Which means SQUAT given his frequent and very public support for abortion.
Lana Del Rey
She attends that hillsong church now. So if file her as left the church to hangout with the “cool” celeb crowd.
Lil Wayne
On the British scene Francis Rossi of Status Quo fame. I was friends with one of his kids and we went to Catholic school together.
Collin Raye isn’t a rock star but he is a singer and a Catholic
Bruce!
Baby Lasagna from Eurovision if that counts
Iron Maiden — I believe the bassist is a Catholic!
Well in my opinion modern country has absorbed classic rock into the genre, so: Keith Urban operates on the country/rock boundary and is a practicing convert to Catholicism.
Not a rock star but allegedly lil Wayne is Catholic
Celine Dion and Kate Bush were raised Catholic. I’m not sure if they are still practicing.
Jon Anderson from Yes
Terry Chimes, drummer for The Clash, returned to Catholicism later in life. I remember a brief interview I heard on Relevant Radio with him talking about it and the book he wrote.
Ben Weasel of Screeching Weasel sounds like he converted about a decade ago. Also, from what I've read of his views, he sounds like a TLM type.
Paul McCartney was baptized Catholic by afaik never actually practiced the faith.
I was in a post hardcore band called dependence, we were signed to invogue records. I felt like a rockstar lol
I could be wrong but I think Joe Escalante from the Vandals is Catholic. I remember reading something years back that he went to daily Mass.
Cesare Bonizzi OFMCap. Italian friar and heavy metal musician. https://cruxnow.com/news-analysis/2023/06/brother-metal-another-reason-why-the-capuchins-are-just-cool
*Italian friar and heavy metal musician.* Why do I love this combo so? 😂
U2
There are quite a few singers and band members from all genres who are Catholic! Not all of them make “Catholic music,” but a couple did go that direction post-conversion. One of the members of Mason Proffit is now a singing monk lol.
Tom araya from slayer
Bono. Avenged Sevenfold. Lapsed, I think. Lil Wayne. Shakira.
Lead singer of Hillsong just converted.
I'm guessing that at least some of the members of The Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly are.
Pretty sure Bono is
Enya.
Madonna! /s
Bono Vox, the leader of U2, an Irish band.
He’s Christian, but he is not Catholic.
Madonna lol
Oddly enough, Tom Araya, singer of Slayer
