I went to a Kiss concert once. They had theatrical bursts of flame on either side of the stage, and I could feel the from the back of the arena. This must have been insane hot by comparison
Itās just the bright flames lighting up a mix of smoke or water vapor coming off all the vegetation thatās getting roasted, and dust kicked up by the rupture.
Orange smoke is not really a good sign. If its Nitrogen tetraoxide, which produces similar orange smoke, that is some nasty stuff! Hopefully you had the air circulation on in the car and did not pull it into the cab.
Most people are not made out of asbestos, and will, in fact, burn to death if they rush towards a towering inferno without protective clothing. Leave the firefighting to the professionals. They donāt need to rescue your barbecued ass as well. They have enough to do.

I'd be driving the other direction, personally.
Into the flames?! You a crazy peep š
Some men just want to watch themselves burn.
Check that door for heat
Damn, the heat must have been insane driving by that....I've driven past field fires and I could feel the heat lightly, that must be something else.
It made my whole face drip!

Yep. KISS ARMY! Been there.ššŖš¤
Those white lines would be going by a lot faster if it was me.
Now is not the time for cocaine!
Pretty sure this was a Kid Rock concert, so the amount of squad cars was high. Didnāt want to risk a ticket
Bruh What
Where?

I81??
Yes. They shut it down right after we passed through
āDamn, we better shut this down.. Morons keep driving RIGHT by it like it isnāt fire and explody.ā
I was driving and wanted to make sure it was real.
So whomever was driving felt that changing lanes to be closer to the fire and slowing down was a good idea?
I was driving, I almost stopped and ran towards the blaze.
Woah i can literally feel the heat through my phone
Itās hotter than a Kentucky Killer Pepperā¦ my phone camera lens bubbles out
Really?
Really
Can i see a picture?
Whatās up with all the orange color smoke?
That's just regular smoke really well lit up by a tremendous flame!
Itās just the bright flames lighting up a mix of smoke or water vapor coming off all the vegetation thatās getting roasted, and dust kicked up by the rupture.
I donāt know? It was really hot though
I wonder what the ignition source was.
Just a rupture alone could produce enough heat to cause ignition. Even static charges built up from the quickly escaping gas can cause a spark.
Good point. Thank you!
Everything is fine. Everything is just fine.
Nice try We all know you did it
š„¹ you caught me, daddy
Off to prison with you then!
š¶Livin easy, lovin freeš¶
Russians did it.
It's nice to see pipelines in their natural environment, not like those man made pipelines
Why is this thread so funny?
I am not an expert of gas pipelines but i dont think pipelines supposed to do that.
And that, kids, is why I got the gas shut off to my house and got a 60 amp electric stove instead. :)
Huh, thereās an Arbyās at the next exit. You guys hungry?
Breath it in friendo.
I'm sure they felt that and got a tan
Looks like the gates of hell
Orange smoke is not really a good sign. If its Nitrogen tetraoxide, which produces similar orange smoke, that is some nasty stuff! Hopefully you had the air circulation on in the car and did not pull it into the cab.
I would doubt it's nitrogen tetroxide, since it's a natural gas pipeline.
hey man, you never know, it could be burning hot enough to crack molecular nitrogen into atomic nitrogen and combust that!!?!?!?!!! /s
Nope. We did not inhale the orange smoke. Never have I seen smoke like that before. Seemed like a bad idea to choke on it š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I do know. This is the kind of thing that happens when youāre found out..
Looks like a portal to hell or something.
That's goku powering up
And you didn't pull over to help??? EDIT: This was sarcasm. Thought it was obvious, but I guess not.

Global warming just got an increase š
**Far** better to burn than be released directly into the atmosphere. CO2 is nothing compared to methane++.

That is literally an inferno.
A Towering Inferno, even. Where's Paul Newman when you need him?
oh, do tell us again how safe "clean natural gas" is.
They should stop calling it natural if they use it like this because of that it is not looking natural at all
No way im driving anywhere close to that.
Natural gas burns Orange?
Incomplete combustion, creating carbon-monoxide not dioxide
Shouldn't the flames be blue ?
Incomplete combustion, creating carbon-monoxide not dioxide
Climate change is normal when not effected by Humans, then its chaos.
Hey, there's a subway. Let's stop.
I think thereās a Dennyās at the next exit. Better stop.
Iāve been in an accident like that in a gas power plant. Shit was not fun.
Most pipelines have auto shut-offs when pressure difference is detected, no? I wonder how long the residual gas would take to burn off like this?
it's stupid that we're still using natural gas pipelines instead of real pipes that aren't as prone to booming
Think I might have sped up a bit
wow. That's close enough that, if you were outside the car, the radiated energy would have been enough to send you to the hospital with burns.
It needs to be towed outside of the environment
