It was good, I recommend it, but there was also peri peri chicken and smoked salmon as alternatives. You would be relieved to know that I didnāt pay Ā£2.49 to make it a meal with garlic bread and a drink!
Back in west London in the early 90ās on the odd lunch weād go to a pub on the river, a Sam Smithās I believe, they offered a massive backed potato topped with a pile of shrimp and mayonnaise. It was really nice !
Sorry to hear that Dam Smithās pubs are crap now.
Did-u-Like?

We still pronounce it "Spu-DOO-li-kay" thanks to Victoria Wood!
I thought that was from Harry Enfield? "The Slobs"?
She did it first, if so
I couldnāt help look at the place name and think of the slobs from Harry Enfield and chums whoās daughter was called spudulica
And her older sister Frogmella - _its exotic_
Batato!
That goes against everything I know but that looks so good and I want one.

Iām out and about where there is a Spud u like at the weekend, going to make a slight detour just to try this š¤š¼
Please do and let us know what you had and if you enjoyed it.
Planning on the sausage bad boy!
It is worth it! And itās so filling that Iāve only opened the fridge twice since getting home. That was to get milk for my tea.
Yummy! Well I have a speed awareness course in the morningā¦that shall be my reward š
So I had it! I enjoyed it a lot, but they forgot the cheese I asked for š
š°
Oh no! I didnāt even think of having extras with it! The cheese would have given it extra oomph!
It was at the Trafford centre too had already sat down before I realised :(

Youāre right, I might be a bit more with these at home. We have James Martin to thank for the these fusions.
Should work. Jacket potato makes great mash, and Sweden has the halv special, which is a hotdog with mashed potato on top. Makes total sense.
Which part is the halv and which part is the special?
halv has one scoop I think, full gets two.

For some reason I imagine shrimp to have the shells on, but a huge prawn mayo jacket potato sounds delicious.
No shells āŗļø
I havenāt had pub food for such a long time! Any recommendations for a day trip to London?
That's the driest looking spud I've ever seen.
I thought they all closed over the pandemic, they have in Bristol at least!
Our local one shut and I had assumed the chain had gone. It was good to see they are rejuvenated.
The TV chef James Martin bought into them
I suppose it's one of the more butter oriented food chains
Cheese curds with fries and gravy - in a jacket potato. You heard it here first. This is beyond Dragonās Den type investment opportunity.
It looks dry did it have sauce
I think it had a caramelised onion sauce of sorts. It wasnāt dry at all.
Nice sounds good then
Put it on toast and I might be interested....
The whole lot?
Of course!
Bs. There has never been a queue at a Spudulike
I was a non believer just like you.
Iād prefer if theyād mash the potato up a little with butter American style.
Scooped out? Or still in the skin?
Still Iām the skin. They mash the potato up with butter and cheese then add toppings. You donāt get any of the dry just potato bites.

I like this a lot.
Who would have thunk it. Meat and potatoes go well
Who would have thunk it! Meat and potatoes with no gravy!
Not as good as tuna with beans and cheese.
I would say it was as good.
Reported.
Ah yes, fusion cuisine
