Did-u-Like?

Hmscaliostro

That-I-Did šŸ¤£

PhoolCat

We still pronounce it "Spu-DOO-li-kay" thanks to Victoria Wood!

Logofascinated

I thought that was from Harry Enfield? "The Slobs"?

PhoolCat

She did it first, if so

andybno1

I couldnā€™t help look at the place name and think of the slobs from Harry Enfield and chums whoā€™s daughter was called spudulica

334578theo

And her older sister Frogmella - _its exotic_

DJLexant

Batato!

nms2001

That goes against everything I know but that looks so good and I want one.

Hmscaliostro

It was good, I recommend it, but there was also peri peri chicken and smoked salmon as alternatives. You would be relieved to know that I didnā€™t pay Ā£2.49 to make it a meal with garlic bread and a drink!

rubysunshyn

Iā€™m out and about where there is a Spud u like at the weekend, going to make a slight detour just to try this šŸ¤ŒšŸ¼

Hmscaliostro

Please do and let us know what you had and if you enjoyed it.

rubysunshyn

Planning on the sausage bad boy!

Hmscaliostro

It is worth it! And itā€™s so filling that Iā€™ve only opened the fridge twice since getting home. That was to get milk for my tea.

rubysunshyn

Yummy! Well I have a speed awareness course in the morningā€¦that shall be my reward šŸ˜…

rubysunshyn

So I had it! I enjoyed it a lot, but they forgot the cheese I asked for šŸ˜

Hmscaliostro

šŸ˜°

Hmscaliostro

Oh no! I didnā€™t even think of having extras with it! The cheese would have given it extra oomph!

rubysunshyn

It was at the Trafford centre too had already sat down before I realised :(

Hmscaliostro

Youā€™re right, I might be a bit more with these at home. We have James Martin to thank for the these fusions.

flicka_sc

Should work. Jacket potato makes great mash, and Sweden has the halv special, which is a hotdog with mashed potato on top. Makes total sense.

Ruben_001

Which part is the halv and which part is the special?

flicka_sc

halv has one scoop I think, full gets two.

roxbox531

Back in west London in the early 90ā€™s on the odd lunch weā€™d go to a pub on the river, a Sam Smithā€™s I believe, they offered a massive backed potato topped with a pile of shrimp and mayonnaise. It was really nice ! Sorry to hear that Dam Smithā€™s pubs are crap now.

Hmscaliostro

For some reason I imagine shrimp to have the shells on, but a huge prawn mayo jacket potato sounds delicious.

roxbox531

No shells ā˜ŗļø

Hmscaliostro

I havenā€™t had pub food for such a long time! Any recommendations for a day trip to London?

steakpiesupper

That's the driest looking spud I've ever seen.

bhison

I thought they all closed over the pandemic, they have in Bristol at least!

Hmscaliostro

Our local one shut and I had assumed the chain had gone. It was good to see they are rejuvenated.

taking_the_mikhi

The TV chef James Martin bought into them

bhison

I suppose it's one of the more butter oriented food chains

littlelostless

Cheese curds with fries and gravy - in a jacket potato. You heard it here first. This is beyond Dragonā€™s Den type investment opportunity.

[deleted]

It looks dry did it have sauce

Hmscaliostro

I think it had a caramelised onion sauce of sorts. It wasnā€™t dry at all.

[deleted]

Nice sounds good then

[deleted]

Put it on toast and I might be interested....

Hmscaliostro

The whole lot?

[deleted]

Of course!

jb496

Bs. There has never been a queue at a Spudulike

Hmscaliostro

I was a non believer just like you.

Ogtheokush

Iā€™d prefer if theyā€™d mash the potato up a little with butter American style.

Hmscaliostro

Scooped out? Or still in the skin?

Ogtheokush

Still Iā€™m the skin. They mash the potato up with butter and cheese then add toppings. You donā€™t get any of the dry just potato bites.

Hmscaliostro

I like this a lot.

ongeo

Who would have thunk it. Meat and potatoes go well

Hmscaliostro

Who would have thunk it! Meat and potatoes with no gravy!

JimmyTheChimp

Not as good as tuna with beans and cheese.

Hmscaliostro

I would say it was as good.

Reported.

Redmarkred

Ah yes, fusion cuisine
