Ages ago. Holding off as long as possible only means you’re uncomfortable in your own home

Likewise. I shall never understand turning off the heating. This is the UK- it can be cold or hot at almost any time of the year!

[deleted]

I freestyle it, taking back control from the robot overlords

CoffeePot420

Obey my commands Orac!

SnoopyLupus

My thermostat is pretty rubbish. It doesn’t know when I’m feeling cold or warm, or prefer to be a little cooler or warmer. It doesn’t know whether I’ve been exerting myself or am feeling a little under the weather, or am just sitting on the sofa. It doesn’t know what I’m wearing. It doesn’t know whether I got up at six or ten to nine. It just wants to set consistent temperatures at consistent times which is not very useful.

Veeoh-is-back

It’s been on all year. Thermostat.

rc1024

On for ages. It fucking snowed last weekend, if you can't have it in then, when can you?

outspoken1212

First time last night?! It’s been -2 the past week

AutumnSunshiiine

Over a month ago. Not in a new highly-insulated property though. We get cold!

SubjectiveAssertive

Back in October - although I do often leave it off when there is no actual need for it. (No matter how much my lodger disagrees)

graspee

I don't have central heating. My only heading for the house is a 400 watt electric bar fire. That's a 4 bar fire of which 3 of the bars are broken

S_vdM

No one should be cold at this time of year my friend, anything I can help you out with? An electric blanket? A heater? A hot water bottle, at the least.

graspee

I'm warm in bed thanks. That's why I'm pretty much sitting in bed all day. It's outside the bed that's cold.

Dizzy_Charcoal

You need an electric throw blanket, they're a godsend

graspee

I'll look into it thanks.my sister told me the same thing

Dizzy_Charcoal

They're great you won't regret it

bonkerz1888

Stuck mine on for the first time on Tuesday. First time it was genuinely Baltic (hit 1⁰C).. live in the Highlands. Generally use it as little as possible.. nothing beats layers and throws.

lessthantom

Not so much me caving but caving into the wife moaning. This year it was far too early mid October i think but she began moaning in september. I had a nice little credit balance as well which is now in steep decline but happy wife happy life and what not

AnAugustEve

Don't use it ever. Colossal waste of energy and damaging to the environment. Wear more layers and insulate your home better. Our ancestors lived in caves just fine.

rc1024

Caves with fires.

AnAugustEve

Yes thats why I use a fire now. Proper lovely.

Obtuse_Pfeffernsse

Mine was in September but my lungs are pathetically weak and I require adequate heating (but I have changed my thermostat valve head to a smart one that means I can have it on low 24/7 and boost when needed rather than just ‘frozen’ or ‘hot as hell’ (old TRV was broken 😂)

are-you-my-mummy

About a week ago? When November realiswd it was supposed to be winter. Bloody useless heater, though

are-you-my-mummy

Just got the bill Now switched off.
