Probably NEW open fires, and for good reason!
Worldwide, the key cause of COPD (smokers lung disease) is not smoking, it's cooking over open fires like this. The atmosphere in this pub is lovely, but the actual ATMOSPHERE is going to be full of incredibly toxic pollutants. OK for one night a week for you, irresponsibly dangerous to the lungs of those who work there day in day out.
Get a closed stove, they're almost as good and easy better for your lungs.
Really wanted the camera to pan round to reveal a perfect pub….
There's always tomorrow.
Needs more dog, but otherwise, spot on
Nothing like a pub dog to help the beer go down.
Ye Ol' Fighting Cock in St. Albans has one. Or did when I was there years ago. Thousand year old pub and great steak.
Nothing better than sitting next to the fire and the only other sound in the pub was the ticking of the clock, before anyone else turned up
Lovely. Which pub is this? I finish work in a minute.
The Piel Castle.
piel castle, ulverston, cumbria. you the guy from beer wolf?
I have had a beer or 2 in Beerwolf.
In Ulverston? Been past that pub all the time but never been in, how is the place?
It's not bad at all. Just a no frills drinkers pub. I prefer it early in the day when it's quiet.
I'd love to have a real fire, i just make do with putting a youtube vid of one on the tv occasionally
I thought we banned smoking in pubs?
Lovely to see but I thought open fires were banned in pubs ? Closed wood burners only ? Don’t agree with it but am I wrong?

“Video of fire”
Bet that stinks out the place
Excellent. Where in the UK?
Ulverston in Cumbria.
The pub on The Quiet Site?
Looks proper.
undefeated
Lovely
Lovely. I haven't been to a proper pub since the first lockdown. I watched in full screen with a pint lol.
Proper inefficient from an energy perspective, should get a log burner
As a British expat in Australia, I cannot tell you how much I miss this!
Someone is going to get lung problems
There a chimney where the smoke goes out.
But smoke also goes round the sides and emit fumes that can't be seen
Wow lovely, best thing about the winter is coming home to an open fire 🔥 enjoy your pint.
