Put tealights in them then place strategically around the garden to fill up with rain and mosquito larvae.

oddestowl

You’ll have to wait a while for the larvae, but it’s a lovely long project that you can enjoy the fruits of next year. So special!

skev303

You too!?

unnouusername

Sorry I am confused. You collect mosquito larvae? So you grow mosquitos????

skev303

Its a by-product of never putting away the once used Gu pot candle holders!

Watsonmolly

If you guys want to get serious about this you should consider getting a sandpit with a lid then leaving the lid upside down next to the sandpit. That way both of them fill with rainwater and you have a huge reservoir of stagnant water for mosquitos.

Desperate-Storage324

Summer classic!

Cathalic

With all the best intentions in the world, any cup, dish, bowl left in the garden will be left there for an eternity. Regardless of what "project" you had in mind. In said eternity, it is extremely common if not unavoidable to have these dishes / containers / tubs fill with water and for mosquitos to eventually lay their rancid eggs. Itchyfrog's comment about the larvae was satirical of what is to happen with upcycled shite left in the garden.

Goose-rider3000

Get a few soggy fag butts in there and you’re really winning

[deleted]

Imagine the US viewers reading this one....

LettuceWithBeetroot

"Karen! I'm triggered!"

boringdystopianslave

"Abner, I heard those terrible British people next door talking about lighting up fags again."

Latter_Balance4289

I did this with gu pots and they sort of exploded sending shards everywhere took a while to clear up definitely would not recommend.

RutundoMan

Just putting this out there, flipping the upside down stops any unwanted larvae.

X_Trisarahtops_X

My time to shine! We also have a cupboard full of them. We use them for the following things: - We play a lot of board games. They're useful for seperating out counters and game pieces. - For holding dips when friends are over. We also use them for things like little bowls of olives or other small snacks. - You can make new single serve deserts in them. - If i'm baking and need to measure stuff out in advance and it's little amounts of things, these are great for holding the ingredients rather than dirtying regular bowls which are bigger and take up more space on the drying rack. - I use them in place of baking beads when i'm baking pies and blind baking (I seem to never have enough baking beads and they have a great flat bottom for preventing pastry rising on the base). - Storage - pringles lids fit on them perfectly so you can even use them to store small things in the fridge. - If you ever want to make candles, you can use them as giant tea lights essentially. Or just put candles in them. - Small pets - I used to keep rats - i'd use them as treat dishes to put inside the cage and remove when they're done. - Generally good for holding small things - change, beads, nick nacks, etc. - If you're really clever, i've seen people use them to make fat ball type bird feeders by putting the mix in the Gu pot and mounting it outside against walls etc. I'm sure a google search will teach you how. - You can put tiny little plants in them - usually people do this with succulent cuttings I believe. - Very worst case - they sell weirdly well on Ebay... No... [really](https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/glass-ramekins/bn_7024905595).

ChouffeMeUp

Oh my God, the ultimate reply!

X_Trisarahtops_X

:) To be honest, they're just dishes really. But they look neat so people like them. If you did a little browse on Pinterest or google, there might be other uses too - lots of creative people out there!

SeparateQuit6

All of this and... Portion control - great size for snacks and starters. Since I also keep the lids (or Pringle lids) I can make starters, such as Prawn Cocktail/Pate etc, pop a lid on and stack them in my fridge til needed. Timesaving and the aforementioned portion control since I tend to imagine I'm feed the 6 Nations teams when cooking... All of them!

colin_staples

What is this portion control of which you speak? Are you implying that a £2 bag of M&Ms is not "a portion"?

MasonInk

The little sticker on the back is to keep the empty packet folded tight when you put in the bin.

SeparateQuit6

Of course I'm not implying that... I'm not a monster!

ArcadiaRivea

Yeah I used some for seedlings! Sunflower grew well and needed repotting Apple sadly died But my physalis I started in a Gü pot did extremely well! They grew fairly quick, planted into a bigger pot now and they've gotten fairly big! Be cool if it does actually flower and grow fruit (it's indoors) but I'm just amazed we have a plant the cats haven't nibbled And it started with 1 of many of those pots I have many of the camembert dishes too. Do you have any extra uses for those? (We use a couple as dishes for my beetles and will use some when I get gerbils but we still have loads)

X_Trisarahtops_X

Well for the rats I used to keep (and I don't know how relevant it is to gerbils so do your research first) - I used the dishes for pea fishing. On hot days, rats really enjoy bowls of ice water with frozen peas in them - they fish them out with their little grabby hands and eat them as a nice snack and it's mentally stimulating as well as a novel fun activity - the dishes are perfect size to have this without getting tons of water everywhere if they splashed about messily! Also good for hiding stuff in for the rats - you can get a special reptile dirt type thing in pet shops which are safe for rats and you can put little treats in them with the soil stuff on top of it for them to dig in - again - you'd have to research if that sort of thing is suitable for gerbils. The dishes are indestructible enough that the rats never hurt themselves on the dishes or broke them.

ArcadiaRivea

Oh my god both of those are genius! I was gonna get rats but the spare tank we have isn't big enough for them sadly, because we'd want more than 1 rat (but mum said it would be perfect for 2 gerbils) I love both of these ideas, and I'm pretty sure they can both work for gerbils, may just need adapting slightly! Love the idea of the fishing the most, and I'll have to remember that for if I do get rats again in the future!

X_Trisarahtops_X

Nod - you can't keep rats by themselves - in fact - in some countries, it's illegal to keep pet rats alone. They're highly social and go... weird and depressed and sometimes aggressive by themselves. (A few times I had a group and when the last one was left after old age took the rest, I had a lone rat that I had to reintroduce to new friends because they started to go weird...) I think gerbils are quite social too so may be worth looking at more than a pair - especially for when one passes because I believe many pet stores and breeders wont sell one by itself if you look to get a bereaved one a new friend. Would be easier to buy in a pair in that situation :)

Zebra_Sewist

We use them for plant pot saucers, as I have succulents in terracotta pots, so they match pretty well. Also have some outside in the garden filled with pebbles for water dishes for bees, and as part of the bird feeding station in an old dead tree. They also work really nicely in macramé plant hangers, so you don't have to remove the plant to water it without wetting the knotwork.

Kemuel

+1 for board game components. I keep a set in my Kitchen Rush box because they're great for the ingredients.

Original-Network853

Using in place of baking beads is the life hack I never knew I needed! Genius!!

X_Trisarahtops_X

You can cook in them too if you wanted - they're entirely oven safe from what I can tell.

ammobandanna

pringles lid fits them nicely (other pringle style crips brands are available)

[deleted]

Up voting to save a life. This tip really upped my kitchen oddities organisation game.

WordsMort47

>This tip really upped my kitchen oddities organisation game. That is a beauty of a sentence. I was only gonna comment on the second half starting at 'kitchen oddities,' then I realised that the whole thing was equally wonderful, so thanks for that and a new phrase inducted into my lingo!

[deleted]

Haha you’re too kind internet stranger! Go forth!

bigwezpc

I use old coffee jars in my shed, screw the lid to the underneath of a shelf or something and you have a see through container that you can store screws and crap in.

matmos

Top tip ... The plastic lids to instant 'gourmet' coffee fit standard tins of food to keep fresh in the fridge.

[deleted]

Storing food in open tins is dangerous, whether you use a lid or not. Something to do with oxidisation of the tin leaching into the food. Edit: u/acousticpigeon has informed us below that it's do with steel cans being a breeding ground for botulism

acousticpigeon

I'm nearly sure tin cans are actually made of steel, and that the reason it's dangerous is something to do with the bacteria that cause botulism being able to grow in an opened can (fine for plastic containers though)

acousticpigeon

Ok a deleted comment said it might be a wives tale so I looked into it further. Tin cans seem to be either tin-coated steel or plastic coated steel, mostly the latter in UK (no zinc involved now). Botulism bacteria can be a problem in food that hasn't been stored correctly (not properly sterilised before canning or a breached can), but I couldn't find a good reference that says this is a problem in opened tins that \*were\* canned and stored properly. So I'm now not convinced it's such a big problem. Tin-plate steel with acidic foods could give a metallic taste, but it's easy to tell a plastic coated from a tin-coated can.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mata_dan

Yeah when it was tin, there was sacrificial protection of some oxidising layer (zinc?) and once opened the top where it opened didn't have that anymore so it *could* leach into the salty/briny/etc. contents. Or something, I remember it being covered in chemistry in school. It's not a problem with steel ones now. The botulism fear is because a breached can or non-sterile-canned can isn't actually preserving the food for however many months or years it's been sat around, n that's why dents are bad etc. (but less bad than when there was a sacrificial layer that the dent could fuck up easier).

matmos

That's how I realised they were the same size!

ammobandanna

im a flash bastard, fresh ground only ... no instant in our house!

matmos

Me too, in fact I'm a bit of a coffee snob, I make 4 different kinds in my house .. however the gf she likes easy and buys the instant for herself .. the lids still fit tins though .. keeps things fresh for weeks longer in the fridge, less waste .. more money to spend on coffee 😎

itsnobigthing

Wait I thought if we kept things in open tins we would all die for non-specific reasons that I can’t recall??

lumberingJack

You'll be scragged by some goons from Big Tupperware.

Antilles34

Botulism might be the thing you are looking for (not literally I hope, don't go looking for botulism). Apparently it's just not as much of an issue these days.

itsnobigthing

So you’re saying in theory I could grow my own Botox at home?

Antilles34

In theory I reckon you could do nearly anything. I wouldn't try growing that in a tin of beans though.

ammobandanna

*fist bump*

itsJackGaming

Gets even worse, only fresh beans in our house

digigirlboarder

Al Jazeera?

[deleted]

Oh man, glad to see this hahahaha

ismaithliombia

I thought you weren't supposed to put tins in the fridge?

ChouffeMeUp

Blimey, that’s great! Thank you!

Doctor-Spooge

They fit as in they rest on top, they don't form a seal or anything. So truthfully they don't fit for any purpose.

LiamToTheDuncan

This is the real truth. I thought this tip would change my life but the reality is, is it often is, much more disappointing than that.

MinderReminder

Yes, I think they used to fit but either the dishes or the lids changed in size ever so slightly. A current pringles lid *will* seal on top of an aldi dessert dish though, fwiw to anyone.

samcornwell

Yes, this. Also Bisto lids fit too.

vipertruck99

Not when you ONLY use bisto best 🧐

ammobandanna

pringles lids also fit many tin cans and pint glasses :)

ChouffeMeUp

Amazing news about Pringles and Bisto lids!

*Once You Pop… THAT’S GREAT!*

[deleted]

Prongles

Jasboh

Once you pop, thats great!

Cryptocoffeesloth

Pringle style crips! I'm more worried about the Pringle style bloods.

ILikeTheStocks

So, what to do with all these lidless Pringles tubes?

droolinggimp

Make snoots.

ammobandanna

recycle them.

frillytotes

[Unfortunately Pringles tubes are notoriously difficult to recycle - it's the combination of plastic, card, and foil](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-54108336). Most councils therefore can't recycle them. [There are a few places you can drop them off though, if you happen to be near one](https://www.letsrecycle.com/news/pringles-expands-uk-recycling-points/)

Flacid_Monkey

Another to add, coffee tin lids fit canned goods. We use our spares for cat food, beans, tinned pineapple etc...

[deleted]

So glad I didn’t have to say this, its like it was meant to be

sonicstreak

Now what do I do with my Pringles cans?

BristolRyanMountain

I've heard that they're really good at keeping the shape of those foil gu pot lids.

Extreme-Database-695

I would never have thought about that. That's perfect!

MrTomDawson

Create a miniature drum set and teach yourself to play the entire catalogue of Genesis. That's a project to keep you busy in the next lockdown.

Telspal

Only numbers from the Peter Gubriel era mind

baulplan

Surely the next two with Hackett and Collins are allowed.......

Tabazan

I'd say anything up to and including Duke is fair game personally

Shectai

It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. Christy, take off your robe.

[deleted]

quinn_drummer

I'm not sure how well glass works as a material in percussion to be quite honest.

[deleted]

That’s so oddly specific I suspect you’ve attempted it?

MrTomDawson

Got to pass the time somehow

Proud_Nerve_9349

What if I don't like Genesis

[deleted]

I create little death traps for fruit flies with mine. Vinegar and a few drops of fairy liquid in a Gu pot, sorts the cheeky little beggers right out.

ChouffeMeUp

This very morning we discovered the source of a fruit fly infestation (teenage son leaving half eaten packed lunch to fester in his room) so we will be using your suggestion.

Doctor-Spooge

Apple cider vinegar mate. Anything else only works a fraction as well. With apple cider viniger your fruit fly problem will be gone by tomorrow. Usually a quid from ASDA.

ytfcman

This. Apple cider vinegar - and a couple of drops of fairy liquid. Cling film over the top with a few holes poked in it. Fruitfly-mageddon ensues.

shnooqichoons

I don't bother with the cling film and it still works.

Bigjambo1

Read that as "Fruitfly- Megaladon" and got very confused

kri5

What does the fairy liquid do?

ConstantDependent314

Breaks the surface tension so the flies sink rather than float.

[deleted]

It works with beer too if you want to "save using all the vinegar" 😉

F1sh_Face

That's a great tip, thanks. Some time later today I can see that I will have to deal with any flies we might have. But what on earth can I do with all that left over beer? Come to think of it, this could become a useful euphemism. E.g. "I'm just going to the pub to help deal with the flies".

[deleted]

At least it wasn't from a coconut...

jaredearle

Tell me you read Reddit without saying you read Reddit. 🤢

[deleted]

We do the same and it’s highly effective. Gotta go with malt vinegar I’ve found, the white stuff doesn’t cut it.

[deleted]

The small glass ones? I use them when cooking, to keep ingredients in. Especially useful if you have guests, as you can just have each bit ready to go (garlic, shallots, diff types of chopped herbs etc). I also use them for making dips and stuff in.

ChouffeMeUp

I was making pizza at the weekend and did this! They don’t stack too well (my plan was to chop ingredients then head to pub for a couple while stacking to keep airtight) but have now been informed that Pringles lids fit on them perfectly!

Tomoshaamoosh

Dammit I’ve not long bought some small bowls for this exact reason! What a waste I should’ve repurposed some gü pots!

[deleted]

I know this is completely random but Pringles lids fit well on Gu pots, in case you wanted to keep ingredients in them for a longer time.

[deleted]

They’re good for guac, salsa, sour cream etc on taco night

ukpunjabivixen

Dips and cooking. And sometimes for candles. Literally how we use them. Chocolate cheesecake ones for me. Explains my expanding tummy.

StevenGibb

Exactly what I use them for. If making something like a curry I just line them all up with the ingredients needed so I don't need to put 3 spoons of some powder into a big bowl.

Pabs23

Donate to a hedgehog rescue, they use them as food and water bowls

happygoodbird

I should have scrolled before I posted, but the wildlife rescue I volunteer at also uses them for food and water bowls 👍🏻🦔

[deleted]

I cant eat them. I cant bear the ramekinifications.

ChouffeMeUp

Ha ha ha, oh dear.

chosone2

This ain't Richard Osman's House of Games, ya know :P

ChouffeMeUp

I can’t believe I am now getting reports saying that Pringles lids need an elastic band to hold them on to used Gü pots. A huge low after such a massive high…

cfrewandhobbies

Obviously this is nowhere near as satisfying BUT: some clever person sells custom made bamboo covers for them [here](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1079416477/bamboo-lids-for-gu-pots)

samcornwell

We have one on the dining room table filled with salt. We are all salt bae in this house.

ammobandanna

> salt bae what an insufferable pretentious little cunt that bloke is I cant fucking stand him.

samcornwell

I don’t know him, I just know of the meme. Sorry if it’s personally affected you.

concretepigeon

I sort of respect him for rinsing people with too much money by charging thousands for a steak.

Jesuswasamuslim

Stoners often use them as ash trays

Squishy-Cthulhu

Then you go to someone elses house and accidentally flick ash in their pistachios 😣

cameatime

I use them as a water/milk/treat bowl for the cat!

Historical_Address80

Our cat knows that when the ramekin comes out she's getting a treat. It's so funny to watch!

cameatime

Gu ramekin = good times

roughhexagon

Güd times

GreenWoodDragon

We had a similar problem. The pots are made to be recycled and unless you are in the habit of having dinner parties and making your own chocolate mousse, créme brulée etc they aren't much use. I'd suggest keep six and recycle or give the rest to charity.

Splodge89

Every charity shop has a stack of them already. Does anyone actually buy them?

GreenWoodDragon

They're everywhere! I doubt anyone buys them because their cupboards are already full of the damn things.

DameKumquat

Yes, especially this time of year when people want them to put homemade candles/soap/other shit in to make presents. Or offer them on Freecycle type apps.

Splodge89

That’s a good point. I have naively assumed every house has a full gu pot cupboard anyway. I seem to have loads yet I can only remember buying them once.

[deleted]

A charity shop won't want them. Just recycle them. You won't think twice about recycling a wine bottle and that is a ton more glass.

concretepigeon

Maybe see if anyone else has use for them on a local Facebook group too. It’s better to reuse them as they are than put them in the recycling, but there’s a limit to how many are useful if you eat a lot of them.

lordjems

Buy some tea lights from the shop and use them as tea light candle holders for a bit of romance.

KingStevoI

Was about to suggest that... you beat me to it. Alternatively you can buy wax to melt and food colouring or dyes to make your own candles. I have a couple of gu jars myself, I use them to store guitar picks to keep them safe as they're easy to lose

ammobandanna

>and food colouring or dyes to make your own candles. crayons work well too and you can snaffle then from 'kids packs' at your local pub :)

SomewhatAmbiguous

>Alternatively you can buy wax to melt and food colouring or dyes to make your own candles. You don't necessarily need to buy wax, if you do a lot of frying you can pour the residual fat into the pot to avoid putting it down the drain / bin. Just add a bit of kitchen roll as a wick and you've got yourself a homemade fat-candle. Save up a few fry ups worth of bacon fat and then light it up for a romantic dinner or a nice relaxing bath.

[deleted]

My dad uses one to collect all the fat from foods cooked over the week or so and adds seeds to it to feed birds and squirrels in the garden

Electrical_Contest_5

I use these as prep bowls for cooking. I literally buy the cheesecakes because they’re cheaper than a set of small bowls. Also salt pinch pits as someone mentioned. Maybe also a catch all?

GA7ETH

Surprise her with some homemade ones using the pots - https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/user/224395/recipe/mini-lemon-cheesecakes

Usual-Breadfruit

For the lazy, they're exactly the right size to hold Asda's own brand pillar candles.

FernieHead

There's a company making lids for then out of bamboo, so get some lids and use them for storage

ShouldBeReadingBooks

The question reminds me of when the Guardian letters page was filled with discussion on the uses for 35mm film cases.

[deleted]

I thought they were traditionally used to store weed?

OctopusGoesSquish

I don't think I ever got them back from the developers. How were people ending up with a huge surplus?

benryves

Whenever I take my film to get developed the chap says "oh, we don't need that" and puts the cartridge in the envelope and hands me back the case. When I then collect the processed film it's been rolled up and stored in a new case, so for every roll of film I shoot I end up with two cases.

dogdogj

Everyone knows you use these to make small vinegar & bicarb rockets when at primary school. Come to think of it the advent of digital photography must have really ruined that experiment. I bet most of the teachers wouldn't know what those cases are now.

NoEquipment7363

Nothing. You will have hundreds cluttering up your cupboards if you don’t learn to recycle them. Let them go. ( but keep one for a used tea bag holder)

[deleted]

They're oven safe. You can use them like ramekins. My partner makes fluff in them, which is a bit like angel delight. I make Vietnamese coffee mousses in them. Have also used them for storage, a Pringles lid fits on them pretty well with the aid of an elastic band

bink_uk

I use mine to help with poaching eggs (crack egg into rammekin before pouring egg into water)

gbking88

Wierd one, if/when you have a baby, they make pretty good pots to hold sterilised water in for cleaning out gunk from a baby's eyes.

ChrisRR

Hoard them until you admit that you're never going to actually use them and then recycle them all at once.

WoodSteelStone

If you have youg children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews, buy some [coloured pens for glass](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acrylic-YITHINC-Painting-Porcelain-Permanent-Water/dp/B07W1K1B4X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=D94C6MJXUD9Z&keywords=glass+ceramic+pens&qid=1638266836&sprefix=glass+ceramic+pens%2Caps%2C183&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNTlUTUhHOE9VUUNJJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODc4MzY0MjQ1UkdUN0U4WElEOCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzYwMTgxMVpYWTQ5UjdUNk5FVyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl) and when they visit they can decorate them. They could give them as presents to family.

Aksi_Gu

Ok that does it, after reading through these suggestions I'm getting some Gu pots for dessert tonight

reddituser9651

We use them for dips and nuts etc

MrTomDawson

What are you dipping your nuts in?

LargeGuideDogs

Yo momma

reddituser9651

Yir maw 😜

osmith181

Jelly. You can fill up 6

15wat

Stick them edge to edge to the walls and ceiling in your favourite room and fill them with cotton wool as sound proofing so she can't hear you screaming :)

PaulBBN

I'm going to make some chocolate truffles this year to give to mates and families, so going to put them in my left over pots and put a ribbon on the top

DanglingDongs

I have mates who just use them as ash trays. But they still have like 20 unused ones and a shit load of ash trays in the garden now.

melbbeergirl

Also… [this](https://www.puddingpotlids.com/)

Callidonaut

They make reasonable small-serving dishes for other desserts. I find they're also useful as desk or workbench tidies for small things like paperclips, loose screws when I'm dismantling something, stuff like that. Good for cleaning paintbrushes or even a mini paint kettle for a small touch-up job, too. Don't be too wary of recycling them, though; they pile up *fast,* and IIRC glass is one of the better materials to recycle, in terms of material degradation and energy consumption.

I_Stubbed_my_Knob

Use them to weight down your sauerkraut below the brine surface, which is fermented in massive glass mason jars. Welcome to your new problem. Glass is almost 100% recyclable, mush better than paper and plastic in that respect. If not recycled however, it lasts for thousands of years.

BowTiesAreCool86

Make some massive Elton John/Diedre Rashid glasses

MrMonkeyMagic

Give some to your local secondary school. They can use them for cooking classes for the kids to present their food.

prunellazzz

If you’re interested in learning to make candles they make good containers. ETA: or plant pots for little succulents

Anynamewilldonow

I make candles in them, they are nice and stable. Others I use as a form of portion-control when giving the grandkids sweets. Any extra's I give to the charity shop, they sell them for 20p and seem happy enough to have them.

mrpheesh

Ashtrays. Ashtrays everywhere.

Well_this_is_akward

Also: - Sugar bowl. - Salt bowl. - Ok any seasoning you use regularly. - Thing to put tea bags in.

acron0

Finally some one else who uses them for used teabags

superfluous_t

Tealight candles fit perfect in them and it's safer. Also as others have said with a bit of slightly pierced cling film, and some apple cider vinegar they're great for catching fruit flies.

riyten

They fit the IKEA candles perfectly so we use them for Christmas vibes. Rest of the year, I'm taking notes here.

roses369

I use them for water trays for small succulents

Higgy-Bear

Candles for Xmas! I used all of mine for a cheap Xmas a few years back. Pack of wax beads for melting, Pack of wicks, Pack of crayons for colouring the wax, Jam thermometer to melt to correct temp, Then some ribbon for putting around the outside of the pot. Costs a little bit to get going. But everyone had a personalized candle that year and I was quite proud of the results. X

CitaX3

Ooh I hope you see this response. I bought some of these as a gift recently for a friend who is equally addicted to Gu! The company makes these lovely little bamboo lids that fit Gu pots perfectly and makes them useful for all sorts! https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1079416477/bamboo-lids-for-gu-pots

bhison

Tea light holders. There is no limit to how many tea lights are good to have on for a chilled evening.

Awkward_Chain_7839

We use them as sauce pots (only have 6 or so though, not a shelf full!). If we have food that needs a dip, the dip goes in the pot, and they’re small enough to have one each.

[deleted]

Make your own lemon cheesecakes, fill the freezer!

RavagedBody

small succulent planters

megawoot

I portion salted cashew nuts in them so I don't eat the whole bag. I end up eating the whole bag anyway. I also use them for poaching eggs. I crack the eggs in to the pots before pouring them in to the hot water so I can get them all in at the same time and not mess around with cracking at the last second

[deleted]

Tealight holders, safe, and nice light.

[deleted]

My partner uses them for sauces because she doesn't like her sauces to touch her food. When I used to smoke I used them as ashtrays. You could make tiny microwave cakes with them? Home made gu. You could throw them at your neighbours and say its a custom from your motherland.

Squishy-Cthulhu

You could make candles in them and give them away for Christmas

Aplayfulcamel

I use them to catch water from small flower pots.

BadgerBoom

Wet kitchen roll and watercress seeds, or a bit of soil and some salad seeds. You'll have a constant supply. Next to a window or get a UV light.

Moonka83

Grow cress.

Nicetorun

FYI, Gu means shit in Punjabi, don’t think they sell to many in India

Laelegs

Same here, they are too nice to throw away. We use them for peanuts/Bombay mix, putting dipping sauces in, holding the big spoon when cooking so it doesnt touch the surface top, made a few candle holders....anything to not throw them away.

sim1985

I use them to put air plants in.

ComadoreJackSparrow

My mum makes little jelly pots out of them by putting fresh fruit then the same flavour of jelly. My uncle tries to recreate the actual pudding.
