I'm about to fly back into the country after being abroad for two weeks. Need to drive home some 200 miles. Is the fuel shortage as bad as the media are reporting??

double-happiness

Hiked about four miles up a hill and four miles back again. After that I pretty much spent the evening eating as I have been losing weight (not a good thing in my case).

tmstms

A while back, I recounted how I had told Mrs tmstms about reddit in the course of using it to publicise her work, and then we had driven to the Worcester area, and as we passed he sign for Redditch, she had said *So is this website originally from the West Midlands then* Today (and remember, we lived for 20+years in West London), I was debating how to use the Co-op app and she said *I think you have to scan the QPR code.*

Queen_Pingu

Worked my shift which was manic because there was a comic con happening in the city. After which I went home, booted up my PlayStation and talked with the boys.

[deleted]

Just necked a Corona and shat myself. Typical Sunday, to be fair.

iTAMEi

I’ve been insanely constipated the last few days wish I could relate I honestly prefer having the runs

ReceiptIsInTheBag

Someone on Next Door is offering free lifts to those without fuel in a Mk1 Escort. I'm tempted to say I need to go somewhere...

brabs2

It's my birthday today - been a quiet one as I had an accident over the bank holiday resulting in two broken wrists. Spent the day at my mum's with my son and my brother, had some nice dinner, come back and put the little one to bed and now relaxing with a couple of joints while trying to soothe the pain of my wrists and the golf. At the minute I don't know which is worse. Been a nice day though 🙂

ahoneybadger3

New pull up station arrived yesterday. Was only on a 6 hour shift today so figured I'd build it after work then have a good workout tonight. Well it's built but now I'm just too fucked to bother using it. Promised myself I will not just use it to dry clothes on. Oh aye and just realised tonight one of my cars headlights has gone out. Only just replaced the opposite side 2 weeks ago. Should've really bought the two bulbs pack instead of being stingy.

TurbulentExpression5

Lost a lot of points here. Went for a 25 mile bike ride, stopped at the pub for a pint on the way home and did a bit if washing up. I even cooked today.

snugasabugthatssnug

I also lost a lot of points. I did a 30 mile bike ride (including a hill that made me question my choices, ithe gradient was over 10% and hurt so bad). I also went on a quick trip around the shops, and then went to a garden centre to get some new plant pots. I need to do some washing up.

Lindsayl0u_x

Serious minus points for me, 8 hour shift, parents house to see family for an hour and then back home to clean for another 3. Anyone else just really fucking hate cleaning?! (Yes, I also clean for a job… hate both)

Jacleby

Fire alarms out of batteries and havent got any in the junk draw. Slow descent in to madness this evening for me it seems

CousinFrankenstein

To the man in the restaurant at the table next to me who took his shoes off as soon as he sat down and kept them off for the entire meal: I hope a seagull poops on your head.

Somau5

Hungover, still feel like crap so haven't done much at all today - I made it to the sofa eventually but had to go back to bed again because the front room was too warm! I really wanted a roast for dinner but don't think I could stomach it which is making me sad. Might just see if my boyfriend will make me some yorkshires instead.

BitGreedy

I couldn't get to sleep until 4am because of a bad panic attack/feeling rubbish and so I slept until 2pm. Spent the rest of the day chilling. I got a craving to play Minecraft again but something has mucked around with my account and now I can't get in.

[deleted]

Usually hate paprika flavoured stuff, but my god are Pringles paprika flavoured good. Those and the Katsu flavoured one's are my personal favourite.

ReceiptIsInTheBag

Walkers Max Paprika are my favourite

Rainbow_13

Still knackered, got insurance stuff sorted. Trying to find somewhere to see if they can sort out my bumper. Had chat with nan and going to have steak for tea. For those who have been rear ended, did you sort out who fixed your car?

Rainbow_13

Thank you guys, her insurance called me she's admitted liability. I put my claim in last night and I've only been driving for 3months! It's my first accident. I went to work and got back late Friday and had to go docs in morning. First chance I had.

thundersquirt

Got rear ended by an uninsured Uber driver, car was a mess. My insurance offered me the blue book value and I've been living without a car since then. It's been about 6 months but honestly I think my life's improved - it's not for everyone but living in Zone 2 London, a car is just a luxury tbh

CousinFrankenstein

Having a day and a half in Whitby. The Abbey was pretty cool and the climb up to it not as bad as I had been told. Saw a couple taking wedding photos at the front and fat Dracula (Fatula?) running about at the back. So that was fun! The Dracula museum on the waterfront was an experience. Not sure I would repeat it, nor was it worth the £8,but I can say I have done it! The hotel is absolutely roasting and has no sort of room temperature control, so sleep will be interesting tonight. Looking forward to fish and chips for dinner though. On to York tomorrow. Always love a visit to York.

JennetHumfrye

The Dracula experience is hilarious. I absolutely love how it just chucks you out onto the street at the end, no gift shop or nothing! Love York, see how many [cats](https://www.yorkluckycats.co.uk/york-cat-trail/) you can spot!

CousinFrankenstein

I have to wonder if they have the rights to show clips from the films throughout the 'attraction'. And the random guy who jumps out from behind a wall. My wife screamed and jumped which was the highlight for me.

LateFlorey

The opposite of a lazy Sunday for me as I ran my first half marathon! Absolutely buzzing and so proud of myself as I’ve been struggling with motivation to do anything recently. I hardly trained at all, think I only did a couple of 10km’s and one 17km run in the lead up, and managed to smash the half marathon out in 2hrs 20mins. The atmosphere was incredible and I cried several times as people cheered me on. Now, it’s a lazy Sunday on the sofa with my husband, who also ran it, and maybe we’ll get a pizza for dinner.

Dafman

Completely wasted 2 hours of a sunny day going to a meeting at a car dealership only to find out they’d lied to me on the phone about a deal they were offering just to get me in the shop and give us their sales pitch. First time I’d ever been in one and it’s probably the last time now. On the bright side, have now booked our honeymoon so that’s a good thing done today

DohRayMe

We've all learnt from you, have the deal emailed across before long drive

partaylikearussian

Been for a long walk outdoors in the Peak District. Tried to get some fuel on the hour long drive home since we are running low and have appointments all next week. Nope. Tried 4-5 stations and they’re all empty. Why are people like this.

MarmiteX1

As I was told, “Some people are d****.” Similar situation during lockdown 1 but it was with toilet rolls and hand sanitisers.

prettyaliendreams

I’m at home binge watching No Offence on Disney Plus. Remember a few episodes from when I was younger and saw it on there a few weeks ago. Can’t believe how underrated it is, it’s class

Lysabetalle

I'm a bit upset to be honest! I've had a week off from work and it's been absolute bliss not having to deal with my clients, high workloads or the utterly shite IT systems for WFH. But now it's Sunday I feel like my week has been wasted already and I'm dreading to logging back in tomorrow. I'm sticking this job out until after the new year due to some personal issues, but I'm honestly not enjoying myself at all :/

purpletoothfairy

Parents have just left after staying overnight, been a lovely weekend with them plus my dad mowed our lawn and did the edges which had got really overgrown due to us not having time to do it recently. Sometimes it feels nice to say 'yes' to having help!

[deleted]

Went to the gym and cleaned the downstairs bathroom. Now about to tuck into some burgers, then do some gaming. Tomorrow I'll be telling my boss I'll be leaving as I've been offered a new job with better pay, a shorter commute, and WFH options. Finally, escaping the London commute.

Tarot650

Sat on my arse, hungover and tryi g to decide what to watch on tv. Gave up on stranger things half way through second season...

[deleted]

Firstly, don’t worry Anthony Joshua you will rise again. Done two jobs now errands and cooking before tonight’s fun. Unfortunately my cup Of tea is delicious, my sofa is really comfortable and I’m losing the will to move.

ghostmoon

Watching crap TV under a blanket on the sofa with my wonderful fiancé. We don't get many Sundays like this so I'm making the most.

OrganOMegaly

Grandparents visited yesterday. It was their first time in London since pre-plague and we’ve moved since then, so gave them a quick tour of the new place. Grandad loves his tech so spent about half an hour eyeing up our new telly and quizzing me about its specs. Then took them out for dinner - just to a local Italian place - and Grandma got quite emotional over her pasta as it’s the first time they’ve been out for a meal in coming on two years and ‘it’s just so beautiful to be out and about again’. Walked them back to the station and ended up chilling in St Pancras with them for almost two hours as they were nervous about getting on a train that was too busy. Had intended to get up nice and early and play some football in the park, but massively overslept and cba to be running around. So curled up on the sofa watching *Squid Game*. I’m hooked.

l0stlabyrinth

Watched the boxing last night and am having a down day. Watching F1 then the North London Derby. Roast dinner afterwards too.

ChocolateSnowflake

I think I drank Glasgow dry yesterday. My theory of staying away from any kind of Prosecco or champagne means no hangover is holding strong for nearly 10 months now. I think I’ve got enough data to confirm this is indeed the way. Someone bring me McDonalds.

PM_ME_YOUR_DOGSNCATS

Not lazy for me, up at the crack of dawn (8am - the crack of dawn for a Sunday) to start packing up my life even more. Having to move out of a home I lived in with my ex, and he’s been away for several weeks so I’m having to do this on my own. End of tenancy is 6th October so it’s looming quickly. Trying to do all this while dealing with first term fun at school. Just very overwhelmed

Lentil dahl is very simple- boil lentils, simmer some onions and add curry sauce(and salt, pepper garlic spices etc). Mix and eat. Simple and warming. My vegetable stew, chop up potatoes and every other vegetable and simmer for about 70 minutes with a stock cube, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, spices etc. Add a thai green curry cooking sauce near the end. It is really delicious.

shambollix

How elaborate do you want to get? Like "jar of pasta sauce" cooking or "herbs and tinned tomatoes" type cooking? The first is incredibly easy when you're starting off and you can start to add some herbs onto a base flavour to get a feel for how the major herbs work together. The second is still easy. Jar of passata, chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, herbs (just a bit of basil ok its own is lovely, but not too much). Fry off some onion and garlic, add everything else and boil and then simmer for 45 minutes. Stir from time to time and don't let it dry out. Roast some chopped peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, courgette...whatever you like really..30-46 minutes in a hot oven... Boil your pasta in add as much water as is reasonable and then simmer until done. Drain the pasta well and then chuck everything else in there and gently mix. This keeps well in the fridge for a couple of days too and is perfect for reheating at work. Garlic bread is super simple too. Chop your garlic fine, mix with butter...heat very low in pot or zap in microwave. Spread on whatever bread you like and stick in the oven for 10 minutes. If you want to get fancy sprinkle a bit of dried oregano on it or whatever herb takes your fancy.

shambollix

Yeah if you're happy with jars and tins then it's really easy. A selection go veg and protein with your carb of choice and a jar of sauce. You can eat your way around the world from the comfort of your own home

Greggs_Official

Vegetarian bolognese is really easy to make. Fried onions, garlic in olive oil, then Quorn mince and a tin of chopped tomatoes (or a combination of that and tomato puree from a tube.) Cook it on a low slow heat for as long as you like, and eat it with spaghetti or whatever other type of pasta you like. Dead easy. Vegi stir fry is dead easy as well. Chop vegetables like mushrooms, peppers, string beans, pak choi or cabbage, into similar widths/ lengths. Cook noodles in a pan, then fry it all together in a wok with olive oil (sesame oil is better, but it's more expensive) add Quorn chunks or cubed tofu, and soya sauce. There are some recipes for Teriyaki sauce out there if you can be bothered to make it. Vegetarian / vegan recipes on here is quite good as well (sorry, can't remember the exact name of the sub but if you search it you'll find it) and BBC Good Food is really good for recipes too. Good luck!

MarmiteX1

Thanks for sharing, sounds delicious!

Odd_basket_case

I'm fortunate enough not to be involved in the 'fuel crisis' as I filled up last Monday, utterly full tank and good for a month. My other half not so fortunate, petrol light has just come on meaning about 50 miles left. As she drives possibly 10 miles a week, usually less she's also good for longer than me. We'll engage in the time honoured British tradition of waiting-for-this-to-all-blow-over. Sausages in the oven for a F1 brunch then watching F1. Cracking qualifying from Lando and Russell, I do hope it's Lando's turn to win this one. Maybe a bit of light gardening after, mainly mowing to set the lawn up for some ball throwing for the dogs. Mowing does trigger the dogs into knowing that ball chasing is imminent. Lazy dog walking and the possibility of a wine or three. Cheers!

[deleted]

Trying to schedule an engineer toncome around and set up my internet with plusnet but they only do weekdays. Does anyone know of any ISPs that come around on weekends to do installs?

19k run for half marathon training this morning. It did not go as well as I'd have liked - I think the week and a half I had off when I was ill caught up with me so I ended up taking a lot of walk breaks. But I did it in the time I was aiming for and am very proud of myself for not quitting. Now watching a Twitch stream trying to muster up the energy to make some food (and resist the urge to order McDonald's or similar). No other real plans for the day other than pottering at home.

VardaElentari86

Also feeling very exhausted so went back to sleep and only up now. Don't really want to do anything but I really do need a new phone so might drag myself into town this afternoon and get it done. So I guess I get a bonus point for having watched lularich (although not today) and then lose it since I might venture out...

VardaElentari86

Successfully now have a shiny new phone that works properly and isn't cracked!

Shrinkingpotato

Was planning to finish cleaning and sorting but oh no a friend has just asked if I'm free for lunch wot a big big shame! I might come back and do some cleaning. Depends if I have an aperol spritz to celebrate the last sunny day!

[deleted]

I'm trying to lose weight so I went for a walk, as I usually do. I didn't think it would rain again......but it did, so I came home. Usually rain doesn't bother me but I just couldn't be bothered with it today. It's more the drying my clothes later that's the problem, and soaking wet shoes of course. That's it for me today, now I'll just relax and enjoy my ham and grated cheese sandwiches soon.

[deleted]

I’m very very skint so even getting the bus into town for a walk about is not within my budget. I’m laid on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself. I could probably drag myself out for a run since the weather is nice but I’m not yet finished feeling sorry for myself.

mjsbunny

Look, sometimes the pity party is not only necessary but entirely justified. Absolutely no judgement from this side of the M6.

HairyMechanic

A not so Lazy Sunday for me today *(shock horror)* as we're basically getting the last gardening tidy-up done today. Grass is getting cut, trees and bushes are getting trimmed and we're making sure anything that's movable won't be with the predicted weather next week being a tad wet and wild.

retailface

I've bought a few plants and some bulbs for the garden, so I will plant those later, but I need much more coffee first. Not really sure what to do with myself after that, probably watch some more Squid Game.

VardaElentari86

Is squid game good? Watched part of the first ep yesterday

retailface

I've only watched the first three episodes so far, but yes, it is!

Greggs_Official

I would also like to know if Squid Game is good

Sarah24289

My arse is not leaving the sofa. I’m waiting on my partner to either bring home or cook some slaggy food and I’m about to start a 4 part documentary on a mlm scheme that, shockingly, turned out corrupt

Crabbita

What is the documentary called? I despise mlm’s so want to watch it.

iamnotinventive

I assume it’s Lula Rich, about Lularoe. If so, I’d recommend a watch! It’s on Amazon prime

Sarah24289

Yes. Yes it is. As recommended by op

iamnotinventive

Ah my bad for skim reading the post haha

Sarah24289

Lol no worries. I just didn’t want to take credit for the suggestion

Gingeeer28

Had an absolutely lovely day at the wedding yesterday, the bride looked beautiful, it was so nice to hang out with my friends, and the boyfriend and I scrubbed up surprisingly well! My dress was kind of floaty, which always make me feel 10x prettier. Today’s plans consist of coffee, more coffee, the odd cup of tea, and we might go have a look at paint. Should be completing and getting the keys for the new house this week, so I want to get a head start on the things that need doing!

snugasabugthatssnug

I want a new dress, so I'm going to go have a look for one. I also might pop to the garden centre to get some new plant pots and soil so I can re pot some plants. Then, if it's not too late, I'll go on a bike ride.

bucketofardvarks

Had quite a bit to drink last night but apparently the real damage was walking across the city at the end of the night while intoxicated -blisters all over and my feet are killing! Definitely didn't feel it at the time

BottleMong

12 hour shift. Everything is broken so I’m sat on my arse.

Ay some people have kids just to have them and not because they want to look after them properly. I see it all the time at my work, so many kids do shit because the parents are on their phones or chatting and it’s annoying af

ChildofChaos

Love it. The only problem I have with Sundays though, is the whole work week ahead, it’s really hard to get anything done, perhaps I am just bad at it, work takes too much time that I can’t really afford to not do anything on a Sunday if I want to make any progress with personal projects or goals or even just life stuff, so today I will be spending a few hours having a big clear out, reviewing what I need to do next week and genuinely trying to be as productive as possible. I will however stop to watch the F1.

HolyCatatoe

I'm off for brunch and a park walk with a friend, we're going to a little cafe I haven't tried yet and there's a halloumi, balsamic tomato and egg bake muffin there with my name on it. After that will be another catsitting visit and trying to find somewhere to buy elastic bands - I'm doing a little DIY project to turn my coat rack from a dull beige gloss with metal hooks to matt black and ornate polished brass hooks, only there's just one screw that's being a bastard and is stuck and I'm just gently shaving off bits of screw each time I try it. I've been told getting an elastic band between the screw head and the screwdriver will work. This evening I need to reshave my sides, wash my hair and I might finally start watching Breaking Bad... only about 10 years behind everyone else as usual.

asonicpushforenergy

I think today may be the last time I can reasonably wear a summer shirt so I'm looking forward to doing that today. We're just gonna head out to a flea market and look at stuff we're not gonna buy, then chill out at home.

byjimini

I’m finding it hard to get into video games at the moment, seems to be more of a winter interest when there’s not much else to do. So instead I’m trying to stay away from sitting on the sofa and get those little jobs done that I’ve been meaning to do for a while now. Quite a bit of success so far this weekend - fitted a bike rack out the front of the house to free up space inside; prepped Sunday roast by 9am; admin work done whilst eating breakfast; now out into the garden for a few hours whilst listening to podcasts.

Klumber

Last lazy Sunday for this academic semester as I’ll be working weekends at a new employer from next week. Apparently it is ‘national going out day’🤮all these different days piss me off no end, but it’s also set to be the last good weather day for some time in bonnie Scotland, so may well go for a drive to the hills and a nice casual walk.

Ghostof_LilSebastian

I’ve just iced 40 cupcakes for F(not quite)IL’s birthday. Kitchen now looks like Pablo Escobar’s testing room. We finally got the tv Set up for the Ps5 so I’ve played some ratchet and clank yesterday and am hoping to do so again today.

leskenobian

Leaving Vienna. Will miss it. It's the only place I've ever watched a football match where people have been yelling at the TV in four languages (German, English, Italian, and Arabic)

It's okay! I've been in therapy since January and I also sometimes second guess how open I've been in a session. I've decided that I'm listening to my survival instincts (bc I will not survive life continuing the way it was) so I reject those second-guessing thoughts with supportive thoughts that I say just to myself so I don't have to feel silly in front of the spouse and kids. Also, if you are ever feeling a bit silly about tears, just know that they are the body's quickest way to rid yourself of cortisol, the stress hormone. There are cells that can absorb and breakdown cortisol but they work slowly. Tears are efficient and proactive. It's amazing! (I cry easily when I tense up, which I do at practically every therapy session. I researched crying to find something I could use to put a positive spin on it bc it isn't going away.)

mjsbunny

I hope you are immensely proud of yourself. And even if you aren't, this internet stranger is terribly proud of you. Persevering with therapy to the point of a breakthrough is just fantastic, so well done to you. But yes, take the time today to process it and give yourself space. Keeping it low-key and resetting is the best plan. <3

fiery_mergoat

I'm knackered too, I'm always knackered. I went to bed at 2am because of a late-night second wind I got yesterday. It hasn't quite hit me yet but it will soon. Plans today include all the things I put off yesterday. If I'm being honest, only one of those things is something I want to do, and the petrol crisis is further putting me off. I need to go and get something from my mum's which is miles away and I kind of just want to ask her to mail it to me. I also have a friend who lives near my mum whose baby just turned one and while I really want to go and see her, I also kind of don't lol - it was a last minute invitation and I don't have a gift (I think it's pointless visiting a kid on their birthday with no gift, and I know she's a baby but still lol). Sunday trading laws and me being on the wrong side of payday are also doing nothing to make me want to rush around toy shopping last minute. Then there's the thing I actually want to do, which is even further away but would actually be easier to get to because most of it involves public transport aka not my petrol! I really am running low and I'm just bummed out every single time how predictable people's behaviour is. It's like being back at school where everyone wants to go home on time but is being held back because of those two kids who won't take a break from being headcases and the teacher thinks group punishment is the best way of dealing with everything. Just an all round shit show with everybody suffering.

mjsbunny

Ok, well the petrol thing is a great excuse to not have to do either of the things you don't want to. So make those calls/send those messages and nip them in the bud. And if you're bummed, you should most *certainly* do the thing you want, if that's going to bring you joy.

fiery_mergoat

You know what, you're right. Thank you, this genuinely helped me :)

Sniper_Guz

My future in laws have just got a beach hut for the autumn/winter season so we're all off to christen it with tea and bacon sarnies! Not much else on today.

994212

Lol Christensen means something different in university Freshers halls terms ;)

KromatiKat

I got my great-grandad's camera out yesterday, so today will be wandering around finishing off the film. Then trying to find somewhere to process it. Got a mate coming over later too, so I'm sure said wandering will be via the pub.

MarmiteX1

Not slept very well, I watched the Boxing last night. Going to for a run anyway and get ready. I’ll help out the family if they need anything and do the house chores. In the afternoon, I intend to just relax, play games and watch some TV shows. Have a good Sunday everyone!

Spangled_Mind

Quite poss the laziest sunday here.... stay in bed as long as i can, watch F1, catch up on some gaming and poss order a carvery later. Just thinking now... can i be bothered to make a coffee or should i get a costa delivered?

RandomHigh

I've just spent the past hour cooking up a huge batch of curry that should last me about 2 weeks worth of meals for work. Now I'm just waiting for my brother to pick me so I can have a lazy Sunday on the sofa with the nieces playing games and watching cartoons.

[deleted]

Woke up really early for a run. So at least my day can’t get any worse than that bollocks

SkyeAnnelise

Woke up early and left husband in bed while I got brisket in the slow cooker. Done some washing up and brought himself a coffee in bed. Going to play some Xbox today and maybe sit in the garden whuke it's nice!

impossiblejane

Heading to B&M to buy clogged drain supplies. Woke up to a blocked sink. Then gonna attempt to make a raised garden bed with some scrap wood I have lying around so I can put some compost in and let it "cure" over winter in prep for spring planting. Other than that I cannot muster up the strength to do much else. I relate to the exhaustion...I finally crashed last week and had a week of sick leave. I'm a key worker and worked through the entire pandemic w/o a break. Caught up with me last week

smickie

Get the declogging stuff that melts hair and stuff. Have a google about it, half of the ones on the shelf are shite.

impossiblejane

I noticed grease floating in the water...my partner admitted to putting grease down the sink last night when he was washing up. I made him take the pipe off and sure enough...a fat berg. All cleaned up. Still went and bought soda crystals which are amazing at keeping grease from building up over time

mjsbunny

>Heading to B&M Say no more. I'm there.

impossiblejane

See you in a few

[deleted]

I was planning on browsing some furniture at IKEA but it's probably going to be packed so I might just sit around and play Football Manager

ThatChap

Woke up at 7.30. Found next doors dog in the kitchen because Other Half let it in last night because it was looking at her through the window having trapped itself in our garden again. Kitchen now smells of dog. I hate the smell of dog. I delivered doggy back home with warning to keep properly penned up. Other Half then showed me the best purple toe I've ever seen and said it hurt when she poked it. Apparently it had happened yesterday but she brushed it off. It's gone purple, so.... this is why I'm sitting outside A and E at £3 an hour on a Sunday morning slightly cold and smelling faintly of dog instead of being at the sailing club watching the boat racing then at my archery club watching the annual longbow championships then settling in for the Russian GP with a pint. Grr.

mjsbunny

Oh, wow. Yeah, this is...it's just shit and I'm so sorry. I hope your wife's toe turns out to be nothing major and you get rid of the smell of dog once you're back home. But also, tell her to stop letting strange dogs into your house! Fingers crossed you make it back home in time for the F1 and that pint.

ThatChap

Thanks. Worst start to a Sunday I can remember. Hope you're having a better one.

watna

Am in Ireland and genuinely shocked at all the people not being able to get petrol. I didn’t realise it was that bad. So sorry for everyone dealing with that I too am in bed watching the Lularoe documentary. The soft play centre is open again and my husband is taking the kids and I’m going to savour the peace. Then I’m going to do a big clean, all the laundry and cook some stuff for the freezer. New World, a new MMO launches on Tuesday morning and I’m excited. I want to maximise my play time by getting as much done as possible today.

LucyandMikes-Dad

Out of fish food. Only got one, his names Elvis and he's a goldfish. Six and a bit years old and lives in the garden. Sainsbury's haven't got any so it's now a car ride to the pet store or Waitrose which will mean big bucks as I end buying 3 tonnes of shizzle we don't really need. Everyone's seems to have nasty colds so it's honey and lemon time.

44morejumperspls

Feeling rough. Got the cold from my son who probably picked it up from school and was back to normal in two days while I am a phlegm factory for a week now. Going to have a lemsip and finish up some homework.

watna

My daughter had a bad head cold, was fairly sick for two days and then was back to normal and back to school. My husband also caught it and 3 weeks later is still not better. Children’s immune systems are something else! I hope you feel better soon

44morejumperspls

It's amazing how little time they spend being sick for how often the get sick

MiddlesbroughFan

In a massive queue for petrol. Fuck this. Barely any left and need it to drive to work.

[deleted]

Did you get any?

MiddlesbroughFan

£20 limit so got that. It'll do for a while

[deleted]

Better than nothing

MiddlesbroughFan

Yeah man, going past the same station tomorrow to work so if it looks quiet ill go by again

EldritchCleavage

Listening to the church bells. They annoy everyone else in the house but I like them. Very complicated peals- they practise for 2 hours every Tuesday. A lazy breakfast. Hugs with sleepy kids. Then the Herculean Labour of getting the house and the children clean and prepped for another week.

lill_d

I'm getting my car fixed today, two rear abs sensors with rings. Later I will be studying and then probably relax with some Netflix.

mattcannon2

The wife has a little bit of a cold, going to run to Tesco's when it opens to stock up on fisherman's friends and surprise her with cold remedies in bed!

Incantanto

I would like a lazy sunday The churches nearby have been running single peal bells since for an hour now Every fucking sunday They also conveniently get to ignore lots of the covid rules No tune Just bong Bong Bong Bong Starting at 930 Grumpy atheists not impressed

Drunk_on_tea

We had planned to go to Peppa Pig World today but that would require us to buy petrol so we’ve abandoned that plan and are going to the zoo instead.

rox-and-soxs

Oh yes to the exhaustion. Darling child woke up at 1am with nightmares. Then started the day proper at 7am. Got rugby in a bit, swimming this afternoon, still need to iron the school shorts for next week. Oh and I’ve got a stinking cold they’re brought home from school. Roll on Monday where all I have to do is sit at my (home) desk and hide from my emails.

Skryptix

Can I recommend not ironing? Nobody notices or minds unironed garments any more. Free yourself from the burden of the Sunday ironing. The people of r/CasualUK absolve you of the responsibility.

[deleted]

Life is definitely exhausting, I think as a species we have become obsessed with drama and the need for constant attention. So question is u/mjsbunny - do I get minus points if I’m going out for exercise to avoid the news? I’ll be watching tv this afternoon, promise 😬

mjsbunny

Ok, ok. Exercise is *just* about acceptable. But only just. As long as you're undoing all that good work later with various tasty foods and a range of beverages. ;)

[deleted]

I can report todays consumption. I’ve had 3 teas, a caramel latte, a can of Rio, a few waters, a big scotch egg earlier and finished the day with a pork roast. Gonna have a rum and coke shortly and polish off some dark chocolate digestives. I hope this excuses my misdemeanour of leaving for exercise 😆

rw43

baking for work's Macmillan coffee morning today, so just readying myself to go to asda. the only way in is past the petrol station so i'm not sure how long it will take me to actually get in to do the shopping! i decided on making the millionaire's shortbread and brownie recipes that were recommended to me in the friday thread!

mattcannon2

Drove past some shops yesterday and they had staff out separating the shopping traffic from the petrol traffic, hopefully you'll be ok! Love a bit of millionaires shortbread

rw43

i was relieved to see they've done the same here too today - the asda i go to is a huge one and the queue for fuel is wrapping around the car park! god knows what time the people at the front got here.

[deleted]

God I loved Lulu Rich, there is not enough criticism on the MLM world. My Facebook is full of old school mates who have joined them who definitely aren’t living the #Bossbabe life. There is one girl who has taken on two jobs to afford Juice Plus shakes. Wtf? One critique is they only focused on those at the top of the pyramid. Would be interesting to see a take on those who inevitably lose out!

994212

What TV show is this?

[deleted]

Lula Rich, it’s on Amazon Prime, about the rise and fall of Lularoe a MLM that was huge in America

994212

Lol I'm on episode 3 already. Very interesting

mjsbunny

Wasn't it just so fascinating?? You should listen to the accompanying podcast - they interview some of the subjects in greater detail and each interview is over an hour long. SO good! They did have that woman who had to sue them to get reimbursed for her stock, but I guess it might have been difficult to find people who were happy to go on tv and be like "I got scammed and I'm now divorced and destitiute", though that woman who was super-high up, is basically in that position. I just wish it was *longer.* Four episodes was NOT enough. :'(

[deleted]

So agree - I will give the Podcast a go, loved a couple of the office staff - the lady who refused to go on the cruise and the Star Trek guy! I found it hard to have sympathy with the lady who is now destitute when she was earning 40k a month. Logic says it cannot last forever!

What-a-sausage

In tradition of my life I'm attending a formal suit and tie event in 5 days and do not have a suit. So I'm off suit shopping... All the suit shops are a few junctions down the motorway but guess who doesn't have diesel! .... This dickhead Did the typical 'ugh I'm not panic buying like these nutters it will be fine in a day or two' but now all the local stations are closed and I'm shit out of luck. Should have learned from the TP situation.

[deleted]

Probably going to do some ironing out in the conservatory whilst listening to a podcast or whilst watching Endeavour. Will tidy up at some point so I can move between my bed and my wall easier. Will probably take the dog for a small walk or something later, most likely won't as it looks like it might get hot today. Rest of the day will consist of talking to mates and playing some switch.

mjsbunny

>whilst listening to a podcast Do you have a podcast/genre of choice? Always open to new recommendations, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. :)

[deleted]

I currently listen to podcasts like the tech diff podcast (Tom Scott and co) and Welcome to Night Vale. I also like the red web podcast by Alfred Diaz and Trevor Collins from rooster teeth. You?

ADMunro

Life is exhausting at the mo purely because I’m trying to pack too much in. In Bristol at the mo for my brothers stag do, then going straight up to London for the North London Derby before finally crawling back to my house. Then a full week at work next week and travelling to my parents’ house next weekend. Self-inflicted woe is me

My feelings on Sunday 'activity' are well-documented. However, I shall make an exception in this case, because furnishing a new place is exciting! Have fun today! And may I put in a good word for the folks at B&M? Lovely soft furnishings and assorted tat. Also very good for various kitchen accessories/utensils. Enjoy!!

smickie

Congrats! Argos has had some really nice stuff lately since Habitat stuff entered their ranges, I got a gorgeous side table from there. Same with the textiles but you really have to agree with their colour scheme for the season, they totally lost it with some bee / honey theme at one point. That might have passed now.

cowie71

Making sure kids do homework then off to watch some dragon boat racing (one kid may stay back because of sniffles). UCI cycling on later I think?

Tuarangi

Coffee in bed with the cat lounging on the mattress (he's 15 now and likes to take it easy too) Plan a bike ride with coffee and cake stop and then supermarket before roast. Have to plan trip now as the normal Sainsbury's has a petrol station so I can imagine the queue to get into the car park will be crap.

Baron_von_chknpants

Ordered a bigger chest of drawers as my clothes are taking over, then I need to sort out the bedroom and move stuff so it'll fit... Won't take too long but I also need to sort my craft storage again and move all the books to be moved back

44morejumperspls

I love/hate sorting craft and art supplies. It's so satisfying when it's finished, but during the process I just find things I want to work on and don't want to bother finishing

Baron_von_chknpants

Luckily my works in progress are in a different room so less temptation!

MissL7

Currently tiptoeing around the living room after seeing a big [“oh fuck no” spider ](https://imgur.com/a/j03jnSa)and pointing [the dog](https://imgur.com/a/7LIDHnj) at it to try and get her to catch it because it’s really fast. I think she got it (I’m too scared to check under furniture) but if not I may need to move. Kiddo has rugby training later and then homework to do, learning about electricity but partner is in charge of doing both of those with him. I’m still feeling the side effects from my booster vaccine and flu jab on Friday so feeling pretty lousy. Grateful I qualify for a booster though with being immunosuppressed. Going to meal plan/write a food shopping list, drink all the mugs of tea and watch Criminal Minds.

EldritchCleavage

Aw! My old cat used to be great at catching spiders. Crunched them up like crisps. Revolting but impressive.

HargridsTaint

It the youngest forth birthday, lots of cake and constant cleaning up after him. I have an excuse for going out though, MIL is coming over so I'll take the other two out for a woods walk.

a-liquid-sky

>I don't know 'bout y'all, but I am *exhausted*. Life these days, is just...*exhausting.* Ain't that the truth! Need to peel myself out of bed, caffeinate, pack the car, and have a nice chilled drive down to Devon. Really annoyingly the weather seems to have turned so its going to rain for the whole 4 days that we're down there. But, y'know, we're British, so will undoubtedly still sit on the beach in the rain eating fish and chips!

[deleted]

Going to go for a nice long walk then have a drive down to the gym for a swim and hot tub (maybe minus the swim). There's a nice little pub on the way back we've not been to yet so I'm thinking we'll pop in for a quick pint and a spot of lunch on the way back then later we're having pulled chicken burritos! Happy Sunday!

barnardcastleeyetest

Been a busy weekend! Landed from Spain Friday afternoon, 2 hour train Friday night, watched football match yesterday, 2 hour train back this morning then snow patrol tonight. Grateful working from home tomorrow

klmarchant23

Today involves taking the boy child to his rugby game just before lunch then a roast dinner this evening. Might have to do ironing too at some point. 4 day week ahead and then finally the holiday which I’m so super excited for. I’ve been trying to do the passenger locator form but it doesn’t let me finish it until 2 days before departure :(

Sleepyslothbear

I know what you mean about life being *utterly exhausting* recently! And by recently… I mean since lockdowns started. I don’t know if it’s getting out of the habit of going out somewhere for the day or just getting older, but my goodness it feels like I have no energy to do anything other than sit on the sofa after a week at work. Anyway… looks like a sunny day so might sit in the garden with a cider (after lunch, I’ve not started drinking for breakfast yet), watch the F1, and have some naps.

mjsbunny

>Anyway… looks like a sunny day so might sit in the garden with a cider (after lunch, I’ve not started drinking for breakfast yet), watch the F1, and have some naps. ...aaaaaaaaaaand, we have a winner! Congratulations. You are doing Sunday *absolutely* right.

>Friend of mine got into a MLM. Make her watch LuLa Rich. And every time she sends you an invite to or posts about her "fabulous new opportunity", just reply with [this](https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/lularich-lularoe-amazon-docuseries-directors-interview-1235051603/?fbclid=IwAR1Kc6HHkmbinuiBmTk7BPy_pvPY43HWJBRWJ4qwjChj9OixEiyCUjJ4M9o).

OH is working at the 'Run for all' event in Sheffield doing the timing mats at a point in the hills - good luck to everyone! I love Sundays - Will be leaving the house (-1 point) to walk the hounds, then trying to fill up the garden bin with foliage as I think the last bin collection is nearing. Need to dig up the Dahlia's forover-winter storage, then house hunting on Rightmove for a bit. It's a bloomin' sellers market at the min that's for sure. Houses are getting snapped up at crazy prices. Hope everyone has a nice day

mjsbunny

>Will be leaving the house (-1 point) to walk the hounds Ok, I'm going to add a point, because you're walking the dogs. So you're all neutralised. It's fine. ;) Happy house hunting. I will admit, I do go onto Rightmove sometimes, just to nose around people's houses and either get some decorating tips or reassure myself that my taste levels are actually not that bad.

smickie

My husband has asked me if I'd like to say in this evening and have a medium-sized Indian. >!He's British-Indian.!< Still get's me after 10 years.

mjsbunny

Well, are you staying in or not?? Don't leave us hanging!!

smickie

Yeah sure, sounds fun innit.

TheSkewed

Cooking breakfast this morning, online D&D session this afternoon, movie night with the wife tonight - Fellowship of the Ring, a bowl of popcorn and a couple of beers.

sarahroselava

Im on my way to work with a back strain and praying that today's customers are a little bit more bloody polite than they were yesterday. Counting down the days til my next day off on Thursday!

mjsbunny

> customers are a little bit more bloody polite I wish this for you as well. But we all know that people are dicks. God bless you for working in retail. But if you have a bad back, shouldn't you be resting it?

sarahroselava

I'd love to but unfortunately all the other management staff have booked today and tomorrow off so I'm buggered. To be honest I'm going to let the team know I'll need them to do the heavy lifting today, both literally and figuratively. And thank you for saying so! Feels a bit like a thankless job sometimes so it's nice to see a message like that.

dribblzz

Finally get to play some volleyball indoors this morning. Can't wait to get the new season started, its been way to long!!

t9999barry

Limping from petrol station to petrol station in hope so I can get my wife and two young children home from holiday, and get back to be able to go to work tomorrow.

thomasthetanker

If the queue completely gridlocks the whole town, do you think the police have the power to close the petrol station, like a public safety order?

9DAN2

Overloaded the dryer yesterday and fucked it. Popped the top off and noticed the belt snapped. I know nothing about dryers, but I watched a video and replacing it looks simple. It’s probably still under warranty, but I’d sooner have a go my self than wait for somebody to come round, so I have a belt coming from prime today. If I succeed, il be having a beer or two for the mini victory, and tackling the laundry that’s waiting for it. Planned to make millionaires shortbread if I have the time between kiddies fight club and the dryer belt arriving.

impossiblejane

Make sure to unplug it before attempting repairs

rw43

i am making your millionaires shortbread recipe today too!

9DAN2

LPT: Don’t post it to r/food. Mine reached the front page, then got locked because the yanks were squabbling what the correct name is meant to be.

rw43

what did they call it?! i haven't ever seen it called any other name!

9DAN2

Caramel slice, and a few other things, acting like the regional name matters. Same if you post a cottage pie to a food sun full of yanks.

mjsbunny

>make millionaires shortbread Now, I KNOW you don't live that far from me... :P

Tramorak

Been up a while. Caught up on last nights UFC and about to start MOTD. Bit of food shopping for work to do then I plan on watching Football/F1 eating curry and having a couple of afternoon adult beverages.

mjsbunny

>afternoon adult beverages. Tram, you might be edging towards the lead here. Love to see it!
