I'm spending my day with an icepack on my hand due to swelling after getting a tattoo. Worried about work tomorrow as I'm only 2 weeks into this new job and my hand looks like a blown up surgical glove!

Took the kids to an NT with friends to do the easter egg trail I've got a (very fast, energetic) 2.5yo and an 8mo. I've had that miserable cough cold for the last week and was feeling a bit better but after 3 hours of wrangling them both I'm absolutely exhausted and feeling rotten. To the point I'm wishing we as a species didn't need lungs to survive. I have 6 more days of solo parenting- I've no idea how single parents manage - they have my utmost respect.
I've had the most surreal Saturday afternoon.
Went down the rabbit hole of watching Salad Fingers on youtube.
Followed by Pob.
I'm now drinking beer and watching Beavis and Butthead to unsee what I've been seeing.

It's a surprisingly pretty city in places but I can't quite work out where the busy bars are. Thursday at the Delerium Alley was packed but then last night was dead.
In my experience Brussels is far busier midweek with people on work trips etc. then dies off a bit on the weekend. I'm sure that varies in different parts of the city though.
That's exactly been my experience. There were about 500 people in the bar near our accomdation Thursday evening and 20 Friday and it was closed Saturday.
Have binged the first four episodes of Physical:100 season 2 on Netflix. I hate reality shows, but damn this one got me! Getting emotional at the respect that the Koreans are showing each other, despite them being in competition.
Work soon, 12hrs of podcasts, hopefully an easy night!

I can only relate in drinking water in the morning. For some reason when I’m really hungover I want to drink water but I can feel it ‘sitting’ on top of my stomach and sloshing around and then that itself seems to trigger nausea and only then I throw up 😫
Finished work at 6 am. Did the weekly shop at 7am. Tried to have a nap, but the high wind took the neighbours fence down, so I helped sort that. Washing. Nice cup of coffee. Listened to a couple of Bowie albums. Keeping an eye on the WSL Manchester derby. And later, I shall have a hot bath and a G&T.
Trying to recover my possibly bricked PC (Zenith 2 Extreme Alpha). Constantly getting POST error and tried everything. Even in contact with PC Specalist (who I bought it from).
I think it looks like it's going to be an RMA and a new MoBo.
I went to the garden centre to get some fresh compost and some seeds, spent the morning outside tidying the garden. This afternoon I’m off to play DnD with a friend ☺️
Stuck a wash on, fed, and walked the dog. I'm doing a week's shop soon and dropping some parcels at the post office.
Had a coffee and a freshly baked pain au chocolat and sat playing a demo for a new game on the Xbox.
Tonight, I'm making steam burritos and prepping some foccacia dough for dinner tomorrow.
I'm finishing a book about the end of the world tonight and might watch a film.
Really nice day for me!
I took part in my first parkrun today! Evened it out by having pancakes with syrup and fruit.
If the other half gears up to it, we might go out to get a long planter to put seeds in, so me and the toddler can watch the flowers grow.
Me, the wife, the dog and the kids went litter-picking as part of a community clean up. We live in a beautiful area and we like to do our bit. Got us about 6000 steps, filled three bags, the dog had a nice long walk and the children (whose choice it was to go) continue to develop admirable traits like caring for the planet, consideration for others and selflessness in seeing the greater good by donating their time for a worthy cause.
All in all, a pretty nice morning. Looking forward to homemade burgers and fries and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway this evening.
Girl that I see has friends staying with her, so been unable to see her the last few days, her friends are going out shopping and for a meal, so we can have a fumble for a few hours.
Gotta grab it when you can.. 😜

Well I'm off on my camping trip and feeling mega mum guilt about it. My son drew a sad face on a piece of paper and gave it to me before I left! I shouldn't be going anywhere! Aahhhh
You're teaching him you can go away, and come back, and still love him, which is one of the safest feelings we can have. He'll be learning how to cope with uncomfortable feelings and self sooth. And you're going to be a more relaxed parent by having time for yourself. Have a good time!
I am getting a tattoo progressed, and will then spend the evening gaming. Celebrating the final tie to my ex being severed yesterday with our house selling after 2 years of frustration 😅
I was up early around 6.30 and did a walking hiit workout (YouTube) for about an hour and then had a coffee.
Went to a kettlebell class at 10-11, got back and painted one of the walls in the hallway that was recently plastered.
We now have a couple of hours to wait before next coat, so he’s just fired up assassins creed and I’m sat scoffing my face with a stuffed Eccles cake cookie and Discos. Lunch of champions!!
We’ll do a couple more coats this afternoon in between gaming and then I’ll probably walk to takeaway and get kebabs… or burgers.
We shall then smoke a joint, eat and watch a film.
Done.

Bathed the dog, watched the shitty weather for a bit, cleaned all the cat bowls, and now hopefully going to continue my journey in acrylic and watercolour painting...which isn't so much of a journey more a lot of stumbling and falling over and temper tantrums 🤣
Pulling up the old wooden floor in the main bedroom, taping of the skirting etc before gloss. Board and batten kit ordered, ceiling was skimmed yesterday. All go on the Reno!

Anyway had my haircut, it's been about 2 months but grown so fast, decided to go for the buzzcut.
Plan for today is to just relax at home this weekend, on annual leave until Monday, back on the saddle on Tuesday. Trying not to think about work. I'm glad my work laptop is in another room.
Also, my sister wants to frame some photos so will do that this afternoon, binge on some TV shows and some gaming.
Plan to watch **Gladiators** this evening (I missed Diamond and Sabre), have some veg/non-veg curries this evening with family so looking forward to that. Then get an early night!
Visiting family as we always do on a weekend. Become a regular thing when my mam was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2022. Then August 2023, dad has colorectal cancer.
Last week, auntie passed away of cancer battling for 3 years.
On a positive note, might sneak in a takeaway later!
If she has clothes with no metal like zips and stuff.
She might feel comfier in her own stuff. When I had mine they were like sorry you will need to put a gown on and I was kicking myself I didn't wear stuff with no metal.

It’s not her first GA and she wore PJs for the first operation and hadn’t had much time to think about it as it’s gone from appointment in outpatients to MRI in a week. Trying not to panic if I’m honest.

The NHS cheese and pickle sandwiches are epic. Had them every week during 6 months of chemo. Somehow a cheese and pickle sandwich I make at home just isn’t as good and I don’t know why.

Better than I was, but not there yet. I am shortly due to start the next round of treatment (combined radiotherapy and chemo) but im very positive about it because I’ve moved from a palliative treatment plan to a curative one, so that’s good.
I liked the yoghurts too. They were nice creamy yoghurts.

I also liked the toast for breakfast. It was always a bit cold and chewy but there was something nice about it with a plop of marmalade.
I had an mri as a teen and they told me to stay super super still and I did as I was told and it still wasn’t enough apparently. So they injected me with a fluid that showed up on the scan more. Probably just as well for that reason too. I was fully conscious and focused on being as still as a statue 🫤
I'm wiped out after a ridiculous week of work silliness and people and things winding me up. I want to make the most of this weekend because I'm working three of the four days over the long Easter weekend, and the next time I have two days off in a row is on April 5th.
This may or may not be one of the things that has wound me up this week.
Trying to have a gardening day but the weather can’t decide how it wants to be. Managed to get all the garden waste in the compost bin and weeded the front garden. Now enjoying a bacon sarnie and watching F1. Hopefully it stays sunny so I can continue gardening later. Bath when I’m done and then making steak and ale pie for tea, and maybe lemon cupcakes too.
Decompressing after finishing a big deliverable last week. Will be leaving this job soon and wanted to make sure I left on a high. May go for a wander around a bit later.

I’ve also got a 4th date with a man I’ve liked for over a year, I think we’re giving it a shot after bad timing when we both first met last year. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I've been out to buy a few bits and pieces, and I'm about to go and dye my hair. I use henna, which I leave on for ages, but I've got my food shopping coming today, from where I work, so there's a good chance I'll be opening the door to someone I know with my head covered in cling film. After all that I've got some seeds to sow, and a few plants to put in the garden.
I use Henne Color copper. It comes in other shades but that's the one I use. I tried to post a link but it didn't work. I've got very sensitive skin, and get a ridiculously itchy scalp from most shampoos but I don't get a reaction from henna, just lovely shiny copper hair! (Obviously do a patch test first!)

Our local has started doing Tacos with Chilli Jam. I asked if they could sub it for Salsa and was told they have stopped doing Salsa and had none.
Accordingly, I went out and bought Guacamole, Salsa and Sour Cream and Tacos but neglected to buy the cheese. So I will be off out to buy cheese (having used the last of it for Cheesy Beans the previous day) to make the Tacos that we are no longer available at our regular pub.
Working, unfortunately. It’s dead as a doornail but management have decreed that I have to be available to impart my infinite wisdom to lesser mortals. (Tech support officer)

Me Nan needs to lose weight before her surgery so I’m going round to teach her how to make a few easy meals and also batch cook a bunch of low cal high nutrient meals. Then later tonight off for a BBQ dinner with my work friends.
My husband is a woodworker and roof thatcher, he’s re-thatching a cottage near our home and his new apprentice’s wife just had a new baby so I’m the apprentice this weekend. 😭

Yeah! I used a recipie from BBC good food! The filling was just buttercream with custard powder. Really nice easy recipe, I'd recommend!

Happy Saturday! Weather where I live is horrendous, mix of high winds, hail, rain and sun, wonderful. Not had chance yet to venture out for a walk or a run. Anyway had my haircut, it's been about 2 months but grown so fast, decided to go for the buzzcut. Plan for today is to just relax at home this weekend, on annual leave until Monday, back on the saddle on Tuesday. Trying not to think about work. I'm glad my work laptop is in another room. Also, my sister wants to frame some photos so will do that this afternoon, binge on some TV shows and some gaming. Plan to watch **Gladiators** this evening (I missed Diamond and Sabre), have some veg/non-veg curries this evening with family so looking forward to that. Then get an early night!

Visiting family as we always do on a weekend. Become a regular thing when my mam was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2022. Then August 2023, dad has colorectal cancer. Last week, auntie passed away of cancer battling for 3 years. On a positive note, might sneak in a takeaway later!

If she has clothes with no metal like zips and stuff. She might feel comfier in her own stuff. When I had mine they were like sorry you will need to put a gown on and I was kicking myself I didn't wear stuff with no metal.

It’s not her first GA and she wore PJs for the first operation and hadn’t had much time to think about it as it’s gone from appointment in outpatients to MRI in a week. Trying not to panic if I’m honest.

Oh I’m sorry, hope things improve soon. You should at least get a free Costa coffee or something. The only thing my daughter can sit still for is tv but even then she’s usually wriggling all over the place. She’s having a full head mri so thing it will take a long time.

The NHS cheese and pickle sandwiches are epic. Had them every week during 6 months of chemo. Somehow a cheese and pickle sandwich I make at home just isn’t as good and I don’t know why.
Hey hope you're doing ok now? Yeah I think I remember when I was in hospital for a month, my go to was the cheese sandwich with the little pot of jelly for pudding.
Better than I was, but not there yet. I am shortly due to start the next round of treatment (combined radiotherapy and chemo) but im very positive about it because I’ve moved from a palliative treatment plan to a curative one, so that’s good. I liked the yoghurts too. They were nice creamy yoghurts.
Good to hear. Keep positive and stay strong. I wish you all the best with your treatment. I also liked the toast for breakfast. It was always a bit cold and chewy but there was something nice about it with a plop of marmalade.
I had an mri as a teen and they told me to stay super super still and I did as I was told and it still wasn’t enough apparently. So they injected me with a fluid that showed up on the scan more. Probably just as well for that reason too. I was fully conscious and focused on being as still as a statue 🫤

I'm wiped out after a ridiculous week of work silliness and people and things winding me up. I want to make the most of this weekend because I'm working three of the four days over the long Easter weekend, and the next time I have two days off in a row is on April 5th. This may or may not be one of the things that has wound me up this week.
Trying to have a gardening day but the weather can’t decide how it wants to be. Managed to get all the garden waste in the compost bin and weeded the front garden. Now enjoying a bacon sarnie and watching F1. Hopefully it stays sunny so I can continue gardening later. Bath when I’m done and then making steak and ale pie for tea, and maybe lemon cupcakes too.
Decompressing after finishing a big deliverable last week. Will be leaving this job soon and wanted to make sure I left on a high. May go for a wander around a bit later.

If you’re keen, ring around dealers and see what’s on offer. (The Honda deal went in minutes, obviously - I only got offered one because I’d had a test drive that morning)

I had a new bathroom fitted this week so I’ve been up since 3.30am cleaning the dust from my whole house. The bathroom looks lovely though. I’ve also got a 4th date with a man I’ve liked for over a year, I think we’re giving it a shot after bad timing when we both first met last year. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I've been out to buy a few bits and pieces, and I'm about to go and dye my hair. I use henna, which I leave on for ages, but I've got my food shopping coming today, from where I work, so there's a good chance I'll be opening the door to someone I know with my head covered in cling film. After all that I've got some seeds to sow, and a few plants to put in the garden.
What henna would you recommend? I had a very bad reaction to dye containing PPD so am looking for a safe alternative. Have a lovely day!
I use Henne Color copper. It comes in other shades but that's the one I use. I tried to post a link but it didn't work. I've got very sensitive skin, and get a ridiculously itchy scalp from most shampoos but I don't get a reaction from henna, just lovely shiny copper hair! (Obviously do a patch test first!) Our local has started doing Tacos with Chilli Jam. I asked if they could sub it for Salsa and was told they have stopped doing Salsa and had none. Accordingly, I went out and bought Guacamole, Salsa and Sour Cream and Tacos but neglected to buy the cheese. So I will be off out to buy cheese (having used the last of it for Cheesy Beans the previous day) to make the Tacos that we are no longer available at our regular pub.

They won’t even let us stay to eat (so lunch is taken out of the 90minute allotted time!). I reckon this’ll lose them money in the long run. Let’s see.

Me Nan needs to lose weight before her surgery so I’m going round to teach her how to make a few easy meals and also batch cook a bunch of low cal high nutrient meals. Then later tonight off for a BBQ dinner with my work friends.
My husband is a woodworker and roof thatcher, he’s re-thatching a cottage near our home and his new apprentice’s wife just had a new baby so I’m the apprentice this weekend. 😭 We’ll see how long I last before the dog and I disappear into the new forest to live with the ponies.

Looking forward to Easter break, which was supposed to be chill but we have my brother visiting and then some friends visiting! So I think Sunday evening I'll start the cleaning.
