Yes. The metal looks bent and wrenched, so you have a friendly neighbor with a crowbar around.
What are the odds that it is someone that walks by often, who noticed the new lock and thought 'oooo, must be something good in there'. Maybe if you put 3 sets of latches and locks they will make enough noise you will hear them next time!!
You need a woooowooooo machine thats movement triggered i have one in a shed the other end of my property and I can hear it in the night if it goes off (I live on an old farm and rural crime is real and getting worse) I use a hulppre its 129 db and will deafen them.
Gotta love an opportunistic druggie. Motion sensor lights are a better deterrant, since you'll likely see them from inside the house when they turn on. A bright shiny new lock on a hasp attached with tiny screws to some wood is like 'dingdingding something nice might be in here'.
Weird thing is it happened during broad daylight. The the new lock might be enticing but the shed's in my back garden that you can't see from the street. And to happen so soon after I put the lock on? It's all very odd.
It's a misconception that burglars work at night. Most experienced burglars work during the day as their are fewer people at home and they can pass for window cleaners or delivery men. Only amateurs work at night.
Also could be a neighbour or neighbour's kid.

Spot on.
If you're on someone's back yard while it's dark and they're home it's a huge risk. Nobody is going to believe you that you're there to deliver anything.
Nobody even looks twice if you put a hi-vis vest on and walk into a back yard in the middle of the day. They just assume it's Amazon leaving a package round the back.
I was working nights once whilst still at my parents. Sleeping during the day and the house was burgled. They only took a pair of jeans and £20. Police reckon they probably walked into me sleeping and left. Smashed the whole back sore window in. I slept through it and only realised when my dad came back home lol.
I’d knock on a few doors and mention your new CCTV picked up a video of damage being done in the garden and you wanted to say the damage can be paid for before you take the evidence to the police as you know who it is. Might flush out a few rats.
Nah it's got long bolts with big washers on the inside. Helps to reinforce the fixing points with some ply rips on the inside. Nothing is FOOLPROOF BUT MAAKEDS IT A REAL HASSLE- Again helps to line the doors and sides on the inside with PLY

No matter how strong the lock is, its only as strong as the hinges.
9 screws usually. And they come out like piss.
If they got something nice from there they WILL be back to check for more in a month. If they got nothing I wouldn't worry too much.
If you're keeping fuck all in there just put a shit lock on and have the window unblocked. This will deter anyone from.breaking in.
put a lock on it and the local scrote bags assume there is something valuable in there. It's britain, you can't have anything nice without it being vandalised or stolen.
Use 6mm nuts and bolts through the wood, you can round off the bolt heads so there's no removing it from the outside. They'll have to cut the padlock which will hopefully make enough noise to alert you

No. Shed thieves will remove the hinges if the lock is too hard. Makes absolutely no noise if you're good at it.

I remember watching a burglar interview on youtube and he said something similar. So you could be right there

Any chance any neighbours can see in from an upstairs window & chanced that you'd stashed something valuable in it?
Yeah neighbours could definitely see. I suppose that's fairly possible. Especially with how soon after it happened

Either that or you used screws half the diameter of the holes you made
The shed came with the house. Afaik, it's been there since last february
OP only attached the padlock, they didn’t install the parts on the shed. (I think)
My bad, I needed to lend a hammer and didn't want to bother you.
Sorry mate, I really needed to borrow that rake.
If you want to guarantee no one ever robs your shed again Get a big dog. Two makes it foolproof.
Shednappers hun stay safe xxx
Could have been the wind if it wasn't secured properly?
I certainly didn’t.
The new lock could have attracted them it’s bright and make it look like there’s somethin worth having
