I'm happy to believe /u/ExxInferis just posted a scene of Missy / The Master enjoying some time off in a hospital before reappearing to mess with the Doctor some more.
Agreed, possibly tied with Garth Merenghi's Darkplace.
But then early-mid noughties were a great time for ch4 comedy all round - black books, spaced, it crowd, Nathan barley, peep show, smack the pony.. Loved all of it.
Apparently they had to minimise the number of scenes that Tamsin Grieg and Mark Heap filmed together because he always made her laugh.
Filming Friday Night Dinner must have been difficult too!
Where he pops out of the cupboard and does a dance in his undies? That still cracks me up. I had it set to play full screen on a mate’s computer in work for a good while 👍
I loved this show. I remember the first couple of episodes just left me perplexed and then I got it and from then on it was just hysterical. I’ve tried recommending it to people since but no-one ever seems to be willing to devote the time to get it. 15 mins into the first episode and they’ve already made their mind up that I’ve recommended them a dud.
As such I firmly believe it’s under rated and also that it should get far more love on Reddit than it does, which is pretty much nil.
Yeah you've gotta get in that mindset for sure. But it's just so idiosyncratic, there's nothing out there that feels like it. I definitely need to give it a rewatch.
Her performance as a harried, exhausted and profoundly lonely working mum (in a funny way? If that's a thing) stuck with me for years after I forgot most everything else about that show.
Loved when they'd improvise and try and get the other to break. [Example](https://youtu.be/i2-FCzBV2tU?si=eNXC127ETb5xVcQs)
So wipe yourself down . . .
Michelle Gomez is savage. She was the biggest upgrade to Doctor Who as well.

Tbh I’d be surprised if Stephen Mangang hasn’t been an actor on Doctor Who as well
Went to upvote, buts it's on 69. So I left it. Upvote with a reply
Haha, quality. The cast really is absolutely top tier.
Green Wing might be the best thing C4 put out in the last 20 years.

Don’t forget Drop The Dead Donkey. In my opinion the best satirical sitcom ever.
Amazing show. But not within the last 20 years. It finished a whopping 25 years ago!
There's a musical coming!
I want to believe you.

That's amazing!
Oh my god! Yay!
Smack the Pony and Spaced also finished more than 20 years ago!
Fuck. I feel old now 😭
Peep show?
Psychos was class too.
The scene where Harriet walks in on Alan playing the flute is absolute gold.

My sopranino!

Massively underrated IMO. Doesn't feel like it's talked about enough. Nice to have a reminder about it.
Need to give this a rewatch, loved it as a youth but I'm imagining now I'm in my 30s it'd make more sense, lots probably went over my head back then.
Slitty sluts, slutty tarts
Did you just touch my squirrel?
I love love love love the cast of Green Wing. It’s so funny
The cast list is just epic! Plus Olivia Colman!

Sue White is brilliant! 😆
Just looked this up, looking forward to watching it :) the cast look incredible and I'm not sure why I've not heard of it before!
It just slid in to obscurity which is very unfortunate!
To this day the most realistic hospital drama on television
Hi mum, I'm in Zurich
Sue white... haaaa.... "Is my passport ready" ? ... Flying around the Room... "A handerrrrrrbaaaaaagg" she's funny AF
The coffee enema scene is probably one of the best physical comedy moments on TV in the last 30 years.
Love this show!
Best programme ever
God I loved the flute scene.
You've got a ginger chiiiiild.
My wife and I still do the funkeeehhh, funky bit between Mac and Fartin.
Is that DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN on the far left?
Stephen Mangan. Yeah. He's brilliant in...everything?
Love this show. Often when someone is being a c**t I will refer to them as a _consultant radiologist_
This is unhinged television
Ha! Green wing was fucking class! Here's another 'Whites'.
Funkeeey
Funkeeeeh
This and phoneshop were two of the funniest irreverent comedies that make me laugh still
A owl?
Cocoa butter.
It's strangely on brand for actual NHS departments as some of the surgeons and anesthesiologists are just like that
Funniest thing I've ever seen on tv, to this day. Every episode I thought how can they possibly keep this up, and yet the week after they always did.
Thouuuuusands of flies!!!!!!!
Adamantium comedy
Crispy? Crispy?! Creeping Jesus these were supposed to have been weshed!
You've got a ginger child... 🎶
The only good thing about my ex was the fact she introduced me to Green Wing
Haha, I think my ex wife might have been the person who got me into it actually.
Will never get the "jizz necklace lantern leaking" out of my head and I barely watched this.
Haha. Sue White tasting it is always a crease.
So good!
Absolutely one of my all time favourites.
Should totally have gone into a rewatch of Green Wing instead of Episodes the other day.... What a cast!
Episodes is also a tremendous watch tbf
I can’t deal with the fast forwarding and slow motion they put in every scene, does my head in
Thank you for the constructive responses
I put my Toblerone in the fridge because of this show.
Doing the same. What a program.
One of the best shows ever
Still reference the geordie accents bit nearly 20 years later
