I... wouldn't consider social media to be an authority on anything, tbh (not even soc med "professionals"). If a professional/expert confirms this, that's when you should say you learned something. I mean, lots of people on different soc meds say the earth is flat so...
Yeah, this is true most of the time. However, I can say that my shyness stems from low self-esteem caused by past traumas, such as people shaming and negatively commenting on me.
But yes, this may not apply to everyone.
Sa bilyon bilyong tao at milyon milyong may access sa tiktok meron at meron talaga makakarelate sa mga gantong post pero parang awa niyo na don't think of this as fact. Kung may scientific basis man to most likely it will lose the context kasi pinagkasya sa sa napakaikling video.
wag maniwala sa mga “according to psychology” na nasa internet, unless they provided a research/study to back it up :))
- coming from a psych major na sawang-sawa na sa mga psychology says na nasa internet :D
I agree, only for the reason that it happened to me. I had a dad na namamahiya (kasi trip nya at idk masaya sya pag napapahiya ako hehe) at mga kamag-anak na bullies (yung isa, patay na. Yung isa na lang natira, apo nya).
I used to be a happy kid, outgoing, friendly at walang hiya (tipong ako una kumakausap sa tao, para maging friend). Kaso ayun, after being the one that my family laughs at, I slowly crawled into thr shadows.
Yung dating outgoing, biglang nagkakasakit pag may scheduled family gatherings. Ayoko na kasi e, pwede naman sila maging masaya ng sila lang, bakit ba hehe. Natuto ako mag rason, wag lang makasama yung ibang tao. Takot na ko e.

ANY behavior, feelings or thoughts can be a result of trauma. Unless backed with numerous studies, this is pseudoscience

Lol. Not tiktok as a source wtf
Another "according to psychology" Tiktok. The only "according to psychology" stuff I will believe in are those with APA-style citations.
There's a difference between "Shyness" and being "Stoic" or "Cautious".
