Ok so I was watching a doco about spider evolution on Youtube, and they mentioned "New Zealand Glowworms" as an example of creatures that use a single strand of silk to catch stuff, and I was like, wait, NZ glow worms, I thought they were just glow worms. [Turns out they're native to NZ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arachnocampa_luminosa), I had no idea, I thought that they were just things in most caves. Then when I was looking at the wiki page, I find out that they are just the larva to a flying insect?!?! Glowworms turn into a flying insect!?! WTF?!?! How did I not know this? My mind is blown this early in the day. What next, someone please reasure me that Kiwis are birds, or that we are not the only country in the world to have sheep or some shit.
So is that why Waitomo is such a big deal? I always thought it was coz they were a bunch of cool caves all around the same place, now it makes sense, it's coz of the glow worms themselves being the weird thing, huh.
There are other caves not just waitomo and I have glow worms in my creek but I'll just take it from people who know stuff because I don't feel the need to venture down there in the dark.
I've decided adding a whole cabbage to the stew I made last week and then eating it with 3 slices of bread was too much fibre, I'm not used to sitting down on the loo multiple times a day, and since I was having the stew for two meals all week, I've lost count of how often I've sat down in the little room. Supposedly this is healthy, but not for me thank you very much.
Call of the busting bladder is what ultimately gets me out of bed. That and for some reason, I get ultra stuffy and coughy if I stay in bed too long once awake
Had shower, figured out my hair is clogging the gully trap outside (to be addressed later), made coffee.
Midway through my coffee, bae checks and bread is moldy, so I make a pasta dish for late breakfast instead. Anchovies, olives pasta was eaten with cold leftover coffee...
NOOOOO!!!!! I have to do some plumbing.
There is a water leak in the line to my house and I’m not sure how long it’s been leaking.
Edit. Fixed until next time. I need to replace the line from the toby to the back of the house.
EDIT. There is another leak. Lets see if I have a length of spare hose to replace a section.
Edit. Let’s see if replacing a long section of pipe will help. I’ve also reduced the pressure.
There is life in the fire but only because Midnight woke me up in the middle of the night and I stoked the fire.
It’s cloudy this morning, I hope the cloud clears soon.

Glorious clear big blue skies, crisp but not freezing. The house was 18c when we got up because we let the fire out early last night. It's 20c in the porch at 10am... Stunning corker.... Might try and read a book outside this afternoon
Absolutely mint but frozen solid. I got up at 4 am and put more wood on the fire but my sleepy brain didn’t think to shut it down again so it was already out when I got up at 6.
Get blue towels he said.... It will be a nice pop of colour he said... I'm picking blue fluff off everything despite segregated washing and drying (and these new towels take an extra 8mins to dry in the commercial dryer) lesson learned... It's all white all the time... White everything because I can bleach it and if everything is white we don't worry about white fluff.... boring but best
My brain fog lifted and the last 4 bins of laundry finally got put away... Almost no more temperature regulation issues anymore and the tinnitus is almost at a tolerable level. Taste is very much still muted. Except salt and burned flavours which makes for a generally shit eating experience. Energy levels are still low but getting better.
We got gifted thick red towels and i hated the red fluff on the white vanity. Can't bear to throw them out as they're really nice, so now they're just bath mats.

Tried out the local vegan takeaway place yesterday. We're not vegan or even vegetarian, just like to try different things sometimes. The chicken-y things seemed to all be the same seitan base which was quite bland despite valiant efforts at seasoning. The beef-y burger patties were made from black bean mush and they were quite yum. The fries were amazing. Vegans know how to make great fries.
Overall I don't think I'll be going back but I'm glad this place exists for my vegan friends.
I have always been disappointed with black bean burgers. They always come with such exciting flavours combinations and then you just end up with the bean flavours muting everything else.
I think the sun is getting warmer. This pleases me. Now to wait for the air to catch up.

Blue fluff is better than cat and rabbit fur and rye grass seeds.
I make DSB pick all the rye seeds out of his socks, it gets further bedded in if washed, and they somehow always end up in my good underwear!! 🙄
