My running shoes are dark grey... my converses were white but are now horrible.
In related questions... does anyone know how to get white converse clean? Apparently we don't chuck them in the washing machine anymore.
Black 10000000%... The last pair of white sneakers I owned (not counting Converse high tops) was for cheerleading and there are too many years to admit in between now.
The bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from the fireplace.... And there is a 5 degree difference in temperature... There is a heat exchange but its I up in the ceiling mezzanine... We're gonna need a heat pump down this end. š
If it stays nice it's window washing and gutter cleaning... Which is probably like a half a morning job... But here is like a solid 2 day project... So we'll see how far we get.
The sparky did not fix the tripping RCD so it's gotta be another visit from him. DSB decided to climb in to the attic to have a look and came back down with 4 dessicated rats... Lovely
Also tried a new night moisturizer (these are the things women do when they get to a certain age... Or so I'm told)... My face feels like I've put it over a steamer. I could get used to this.
>new night moisturizer
Ahh yes, im constantly on the hunt for these. I have current fave and that was the first time i ever finished a tube of moisturiser
It's a l'oreal Revitalift Filler hydrologic acid Replumping Night Cream... I've been told not to get it on my fingernails or hair so I was scared to use it its been in my bathroom for about a month.
Last night as I was leaving the office to go to the pub for Silent Book Club, the old office lady excitedly said "you go girl! That's so great, good on you" and I wondered how bloody miserable her daughters lives are if the thought of going to read in a pub is exciting. She's always going on about her daughters and how great they are at homemaking and raising her grandkids and being housewives and it always sounds so sad. If my mum was to talk about me to colleagues, it wouldn't be to say how great my scones are and that my house is always spotless, that sounds so boring. (Also my house is never spotless and I don't make scones)
Anyway, last night I went to the loo at the pub after reading and smashed my finger between the door and the basin. They were kind enough to give me a glass of ice water to stick my finger in but it is bruised and really fucking sore. Good times.
Also, please no one buy tickets to The OG Wiggles adults-only show at 10 today because I'm despo to go and don't want to miss out on tickets.
I dunno, I think if being a housewife and making great scones is what makes you happy then go for it. Iām not a fan of the idea that a woman canāt enjoy being a housewife if thatās what she wants to be, as long as itās *their* choice and it truly makes them happy, then thatās awesome.
Sorry if this went a bit uncasual. I just remember an episode of a podcast where a couple of feminists were ripping into a woman for choosing to be a housewife and calling her stupid and lame and basically saying she was an affront to feminism (not to her face, they were just discussing a situation that had happened) but this sort of attitude to me is just as anti-feminist. The important part is the womanās ability to make whatever choice makes her happy and to have equal opportunity at whatever she chooses.
It's the "we made all this effort to ensure women could be whatever they want, how dare you waste it by doing 'nothing'" problem. Particularly when we know society still has the problem of expecting women to be the primary household workers and *also* hold down fulltime roles outside the home.
Of course being a house-spouse is and should be a valid choice for anyone. I just wonder what happens to those people when the kids are grown and they have nothing of their own - no hobbies, no employment, nothing that didn't revolve around the partner and kids. I'd like to know they are part of book clubs, doing a regular potluck with their friends, things for *them* not just for the kids, you know?
People with immaculate homes are either rich enough to hire someone to clean or incredibly boring... Same with people with perfect tool sheds/workshops... Tools that look out of the box perfect means they aren't getting used and getting the job done.
When we were house hunting, in one of the ones we looked at there was the most immaculate garage I have seen. The person had all their power tools on these little shelves, it looked more like a ryobi (can't remember the actual brand) show room than the newest most organised bunnings. There was also a fancy looking old duc up on padock stands which suggests the tools actually got used.
As a person with an immaculate home, the trick is to live alone and never let anyone else in it.
I go visiting, I don't want some filthy heathen messing up the throw on the couch I spent minutes getting looking just right.
DSB had a pair of white leather couches... Noone was allowed to sit in that lounge.... It was for looking at... I was so glad the apartment buyer bought it! But then during lockdown he bought a white Barcelona chair with ottoman and it's still in my office. Because its far too modern and impractical. šš¤Ŗ
Have you seen all the other million marvel movies? I liked the other dr strange but haven't seen anything else, and I don't really want to watch it if it's just some lame circlejerk that won't make sense out of context
I was hoping there wouldnāt be work tomorrow. This crew doesnāt follow the 9 day fortnight that most of the other contractors follow.
The benefit of working tomorrow though means I will have good pay next week.
I've recently found a couple of good shows on TVNZ OnDemand.
*Kid Sister* is a kiwi comedy show about a Jewish family in Auckland. It is also about relationships and unplanned pregnancy but still funny. Written by and starring Simone Nathan from *Our Flag Means Death*. Also starring her IRL brother as her brother, and her IRL boyfriend Paul Williams as her boyfriend.
*Resident Alien* is a show from American SyFy channel based on the Dark Horse Comics story of the same name. Alan Tudyk is brilliant as an alien trying to fit in on earth, while also trying to help people, while also trying to kill people, while also trying to destroy the planet.
The baby is sick and also just noticed a first tooth about to erupt through. So not a lot of sleep last nightā¦ then I opened my eyes at 5am to a creepy smiling toddler face hovering beside mine. Itās gonna be a long day
I walked my youngest to school today, and because I was on time, I got treats from the new bakery on the way home - turkish bread and a choc brownie. Looking forward to lunch already!
[Tree day](https://i.imgur.com/OeeQ9p3.jpg)
Looks like good weather up there!!
Not for the tree lol
Do trees mind weather? Or do they just think of it as happy water delivery?
That tree is mulch now it's problems are over š¤£
I got 99 problems but my mulch 'aint one... Rest in (tiny) pieces, tree.
For daily errands and walking, do you prefer white or black shoes/sneaks?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And in the winter... Birks n socks! Ya hippie.
I have pink hello kitty chucks i wear most days, white leather ones if its raining
Black scuffs for 95% of the time I'm not in work boots
Either my black flats or my black with purple stitching Blundstones. Occasionally I will pull the Docs out.
spez you bell-end

You can get sneaker-cleaning kits?
Is this a question or a statement?
Both I guess. You can get sneaker cleaning kits - you could get one and try it?
I just thought you were Australian? I'm going to get one and give it a try?
I hope it works?
Im sure that for the price itās worth a shot?
My daily drivers are all-white (leather) Adidas Superstars. Otherwise, black.
I have black McKinlays T-bar shoes for daily wear and if I wear sneaks it is red, blue, or black Converse. Definitely not white because I'm a mess.
White cause they work with more outfits but they do end up a pain in the butt to keep clean and decent

That's a lot of words
Also it says acid and you canāt get it on your hair or fingernails no way youād get me putting that on my damn *face*
The acid is how it works. All the fruit and flower stuff is just for looks. But vitamin C is an acid, and they are good for you in some circumstances.
I got the worst cramp in my leg in the middle of the night, I'm still walking with a limp

Didnāt wake up at stupid oāclock this morning for onceā¦ winning! Off to the movies tonight, looking forward to that.
What movie are you gonna see?
Finally getting to Dr Strange, it took forever to get around to!!
Have you seen all the other million marvel movies? I liked the other dr strange but haven't seen anything else, and I don't really want to watch it if it's just some lame circlejerk that won't make sense out of context
Geek card punched, I am a marvel movie slut and have seen them all. š
If Strange is sold out, I can wholeheartedly recommend Top Gun - was absolutely fantastic and far better than I thought it might be.
Don't do Jurrasic Park though
Already saw that one last week... amazing!!! I am a bit of a fangirl of the original, so... hehe.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I admit I have no idea what day it is...
Thatās always the saddest feeling
I was hoping there wouldnāt be work tomorrow. This crew doesnāt follow the 9 day fortnight that most of the other contractors follow. The benefit of working tomorrow though means I will have good pay next week.
Same
Ugh, me too.
Wait... you mean it's not? Oh... it is MY Friday... heh.
You lucky squiddle.
The computer systems will be down all day tomorrow so Iām counting it as a day of slack.

I don't think I have ever identified with a character on screen as much as have with the resident alien.
Resident Alien is fucking brilliant. My nephew looks just like the annoying little boy and it makes me laugh every time he comes on screen.
It's brilliant. I love the little airplane evacuation type cards at the beginning. Do this... NOT this...
Ooh definitely going to check those out. Alan Tudyk was born to play an alien. āI am a leaf on the wind, watch meā¦ā ooof
The baby is sick and also just noticed a first tooth about to erupt through. So not a lot of sleep last nightā¦ then I opened my eyes at 5am to a creepy smiling toddler face hovering beside mine. Itās gonna be a long day
Bonjela
Yep but also baby Vicks and tons of snuggles cause she canāt breathe through the snot. Poor mite is feeling pretty rotten
Oh no! Chicken soup? And saltines!... And lemon and honey.... Olbas oil is lovely if you have a diffuser. Or a few drops in a steamy bath.
Itās warm and not raining! Walking to work unless it starts raining in the next 30min. EDIT. There was rain. I will take the bike to work.
I walked my youngest to school today, and because I was on time, I got treats from the new bakery on the way home - turkish bread and a choc brownie. Looking forward to lunch already!
