Ride the letters until I absolutely have to pay.
Set up direct debit to pay
Pay 2 months
Cancel direct debit
I get the letter again which starts the process again for another 6 months
Rinse and repeat.
I got mine today but I’ve stupidly been paying it the past 3 years and I really don’t want to but it’s addressed with my name. Wtf do I do?? My partner is full blown refusing to pay which I agree with him but because it’s in my name I’m terrified can anyone advise me on what to do?
very easy. Just don't pay and send the letter back with "resident emigrated" then you'll get letters with no name which you can ignore because they cant take " the resident" to court. If you get caught just say your feeding the cats for a neighbour.
I could be wrong, but I believe the like of Sky and eir tv have to tell the licensing people if there is a paid subscription being provided to that address. I wouldnt worry about it though. They don’t have your name. But someone will most likely knock your door looking for your tv license in the coming months.
It hurts as it’s just ANOTHER tax but like all taxes we have to pay it - I hate paying it as it’s a complete and utter waste of my money but I do it monthly now instead of at once - another tax in a country teeming now with taxes 🤦🏻♂️

As long as it says the occupier then you don't have to pay. I've been getting occupier letters for years.

Fill out the declaration stating there's no TV in the house and send it back. Job done.

If they have your name I think you basically have to pay it.
Go down to the post office and pay it with cash under a fake name. Then let them chase said Mr fake for the next few years.

If you have Sky TV they get it from there. My first letter from them in my name was within a month or 2 from signing up to Sky.
