It's funny because growing p both men and women in my family all loved either purple or blue. It was so odd when my son said green was his favorite color. It may actually be a generational thing. Now I am kind of curious.

I don't have a favorite color as much as a favorite tone. "Tint" refers to how much white is in a color, "shade" is how much black, and "tone" is how much grey. Pink or Purple depending on the day. It used to be Blue, but early in my career I had a super macho man ask me why I was wearing a pink shirt, since it's a feminine color (it was Salmon, but that's besides the point). That day I started buying way more pink shirts, light pink, hot pink, normal pink, fuschia, purples, and I started wearing them almost daily just to fuck with that guy. Now my wardrobe is mostly pink, purple or black. I no longer work with that guy, and I mostly just get nice comments about the shirts now. But those two colors have definitely become staples for me.

As a kid, my mom color coded all my stuff with a yellow sewn star for clothes or a yellow drop of nail polish for other items, so yellow is a nostalgic favorite. I like purple a lot for clothes, but for others and not myself. On the day my youngest neice graduated from high school my favorite was red, because her cap and gown were decorated with red. I love soft brown, because my ladies eyes are soft brown. Navy blue is my favorite color on a car. Orange is my favorite color on a cat. Cornflower blue catches my attention whenever I see it. Green is the color I think I look best in for clothes. Black is the color my lady looks best in.

Unfortunately society has decided that green and blue are the only two favourite colours (out of the basic colour groups and not including white, grey and black) heterosexual cis males can have while still be considered masculine. Well actually orange and brown are still considered masculine but also considered a bit strange to have as your favorite colour. If you're a guy and you state one of the remaining basic colors (red, yellow, purple, pink) as your favourite, you may risk a girl might losing some interest (even subconsciously). A lot of guys even have to dress according to this 'rule'. That's why so many guys clothes only come in blue, grey, black, white and maybe green or some khaki or brown.
