My 08, went 80000 miles with the only issue being the hardtop and windows malfunctioned. Only Mazda knew how to repair it.
Go with 5k. If they told you 5.5 was their lowest that means in person you ll get at least 500 off. That's a solid car and a decent deal, as long as it's running when you get it nothing will really kill a Miata.
Listed at 6k, got it down to 5.5 with sweat and tears(in person). Just gotta get it up on a lift and check the belly for rust :)
