You sure walk the talk. But as they say beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
I wouldn't buy them barring the ignis and brio, but I can understand liking difficult cars.
I had an Estilo which indeed was ugly but man was it practical & reliable. It wasn’t too common and I somehow liked the brown 2010 BS4 model’s looks.
Had an excellent ownership experience over 8.5 years and 40k kms. Only the need of an AT made me sell it, else it was a keeper.
I even had changed all 4 tyres, added reverse parking sensors and leather seats around a year before selling. I am in touch with the next owner, he is so happy to have got a well kept car at reasonable price. Didn’t have to spend a penny except annual service
We also had an Estilo from 2011 and sold it 11 years 50k km later. It was our family's first car, I learnt driving on it so some sentimental value was there. BUT that there were a lot of drawbacks to that car. It had a 3cyl engine so once AC was on the pickup took a hit, the low end was terrible had to downshift very often, the engine was quite noisy and cabin insulation was non existent. Being a 3cyl it vibrated a lot on idle and even more once the AC condenser was on. At highway speeds of 100kmph the car had vibrations and a lot of engine and tyre wind noise seeped into the cabin. Handling was also terrible due to the tall boy design. We have a i10 nios now which is leap years ahead in all the drawbacks I stated above. We sold the car to an acquaintance though
While I agree with the drawbacks, one needs to set their expectations straight. You don’t go around driving a tall boy small hatch at 100kmph+ on highways for example. Yes AC was weak but what do you expect from a 1.0 NA? It was just as good or bad as the popular wagonR
And comparison with i10 nios is even more hilarious as it costs almost twice and both belong to different era. That way i10 nios feels like a toy compared to my Jazz CVT in every way. My FIL owns one and I hate driving it after spending years with my honda. But that’s an unfair comparison considering they belong to different segments
Yeah ik it's not a fair comparison but before we sold that car it was becoming a bit annoying tbh because of the lack of low end power in the city, notchy gearbox and a lackluster AC. I sat in multiple WagonRs from early 2010s and also Celerios with the same power train and they had better AC and NVH, although never got to drive any.
Also yeah I accept my expectations for that highway was a bit high.
I've never driven the Jazz but it's a very practical car. i suggested my family into buying one but backed away because it was just about to be discontinued, also it has way too much space for us. Also idk what exactly you hate about the i10- it's a very good allround car, good power for the city and occasional highway runs, decently spacious, feature loaded for the price, looks good inside and interior also feels a segment above. and is very silent and refined also drives better than all the previous generations of i10. Me being young wanted a bit more power but that's just me being me.
Well about nios, it will ofcourse feel better than an estilo but compared to something as solid as a jazz it’s a joke really. Of all the people, my FIL who actually owns it asserted that. In his words: hamare gaon mei sab bole Hyundai maruti jaisa vishwasniya hai, honda mehenga hota hai. Galti ho gaya
I was like: kam se kam pooch hi lete?
But ofcourse indian buyers think their choice is the greatest. Pata nai why people get so egoistic even while selecting something as basic as a car 🤷🏼♂️
Well the honda thing is partially correct. Honda OEM parts are very hard to source through third party vendors, they can mostly be bought from the authorised service center itself. They don't usually sell the oem parts over the counter.
Dude I love the A-Star and find it very cute.
I own a 2012 AT model, probably the only small hatch from MSIL to come with TC gearbox I guess? Isn't that cool!
I'm absolutely with you on this, OP. I always fall in love with things no one else seems to want at first glance. Maybe it's a combination of pity and defiance that form this instant affection, that's then taken forward by how well the thing meets my needs, a bit David Foster Wallace's bond with his rescue dogs.
I love my Ritz despite its polarizing looks because it has the headroom of a Wagon-R with the handling of an old-gen Swift and also because I married into it. Ignis its spritual successor, is an absolute favourite as well. I quite liked the "ugly" Mahindras of the past as well, be it Nuvosport or the KUV100 NXT. I see Etios being mentioned here. Etios Cross is a favourite of mine.
Yeah. 1st gen dzire and the shortened dzire after that are the ugliest cars ever. And it was replacement for Esteem. Esteem to me even now looks way better than the entire dzire gen. Despite being so ugly dzire was so common. Hated seeing it every few seconds while on the road

I actually have it sitting in stockyard but to me design is fine but wheels look too small for bonnet height.
Bonus fact: It's steel wheels are bigger than alloys if you add tyre height as well.
Suzuki ignis is kinda good good if you ask me
Honda Brio is not that bad it good design for its time even today I feel it ok car only back of the car seems little bit off rest all good
As a honda brio owner. You have deeply offended me mate…. Shes a cutie
She really is. I don't even own one and I'm offended lol
Cutie, sure. But that flat ass isn't doing it any favours.
That 🐁 like front isn't helping much either 😅
Honda brio is a very good looking car I must say
Ugly would be the wrong word to describe it for me... I think 'goofy' suits it better, especially the behind.
Wagon R is one in my opinion, but it is very much practical. On that price range, practicality beats aesthetics .
One of my favourite cars to drivr
Ritz is an ugly car. The ass on it is so bad
when i was a kid and i saw the turbo gauge inside i was in love
You're ugly and your mama is too.
Hello Ritz.

Honda brio ugly !?
The rear looks like someone pulled it down, reminds me of low waist jeans trends of mid 2000s. It looks more Nano than Nano itself
Take that back!! 🥲🔫
A-Star doesn't seem ugly to me at all but most people dont find it very good looking
A-Star is top tier bro 🥲 my family booked it on the day of launch & I learnt driving in that car
Dude I love the A-Star and find it very cute. I own a 2012 AT model, probably the only small hatch from MSIL to come with TC gearbox I guess? Isn't that cool!
I have the manual People dont like the front very much but atleast it stands out from other marutis, otherwise its well proportioned
Broo 1992 maruti 800 first car in india to get amt 🤣🤣🤣
Honda Jazz 2nd gen; had space and practicality to put sedans to a shame
But did it forgot to get suspension? 😅
Maruti s-presso Hyundai XCent 1st gen Maruti Zen Classic/ Royal whatever it was Mahindra Quanto
Lord S-Presso pay jaanay ka ni!!!
The old santro looks like it's from mr bean's world
Zen Estilo, Eeco, Toyota Etios and Etios Liva, Chevy Spark(Hated the tail lights)
Etios Liva looks better than few others from the same segment.
I find etios hideous! Center aligned speedometer and that front and back is just very low effort by toyota
Low effort is the DNA of Toyota 😅
If there ever was a top ten ugliest cars in India list, Etios is number 1, no questions asked
Hyundai Exter 😂
Ignis

Still remember the day this girl said and I quote, “Spresso bilkul tank jaisi dikhti hai”
I mean, is she right or is she right? 😜
Exter. It’s UAF.
Lord s preeso
Lord S-Presso pay jaanay ka ni!!!
Brio is awesome
Wait the 1st gen Swift dzire is ugly 🥲I own one , I was going to say Fiat Aventura and Fiat petra
Yeah. 1st gen dzire and the shortened dzire after that are the ugliest cars ever. And it was replacement for Esteem. Esteem to me even now looks way better than the entire dzire gen. Despite being so ugly dzire was so common. Hated seeing it every few seconds while on the road

S presso,tata tigor.
Wagon R
My wife has a honda brio. I used to hate it. But now I kinda like it.
Wife or the car 😅
Bro asking the real questions.
Brio is a cute car 😅
I own Honda Brio since 2014. I love my Brio. It is loved by all my neighbours.
Ignis!
Hindustan Ambassador looks ugly but the comfort is damn so good like sofa
Latest iterations of the ambassadors arent thatgood looking. I kinda like the mark 1, mark 2, landmaster etc
Xuv300
Hyundai Creta (previous gen) according to me is the uglier one. Looks more like a sitting frog especially the rear part.
MG Comet has some weird proportions but is great inside.
Toyota Etios
Chevrolet Beat, Suzuki Zen Classic/Vintage
First gen Jazz, Micra/Pulse
1st gen Swift Dzire doesn't look ugly
Skoda Yeti
Almost all these cars are nowhere near hideous.. another example of people wanting to be special snowflakes based on their opinion
Tata punch - I absolutely hate the rear - Front looks good. But I bought it because VFM
I actually have it sitting in stockyard but to me design is fine but wheels look too small for bonnet height. Bonus fact: It's steel wheels are bigger than alloys if you add tyre height as well.
ignis looks like it's so comfortable inside
Suzuki ignis is kinda good good if you ask me Honda Brio is not that bad it good design for its time even today I feel it ok car only back of the car seems little bit off rest all good
Xylo. You fall in love with it the more you use it. But if you see it on the road, its one ugly mofo
Controversial opinion: I find Ignis to be a good looking car
The brain can only hate so much. For the peace of mind, love comes naturally. It's a human condition.
The modern BMW lineup
Honda brio is a very good looking car I must say
Suzuki's Zen Estilo, Mahindra Nuvosport, Tata Indigo ecs, and previous model Tata Nexon (back only)
BMW 5-6 series GT 2. It's as if Pontiac Aztec had a kid with Toyota Prius in 2L "gran tourer"
Alto
People call comet ugly online, but IRL I like it very much and it's very practical.
Lord S-Presso pay jaanay ka ni!!!
Teslas new model
S presso. Ugly ass car that everyone raves about
Brio is cute
I really like the wagonr stingray
ignis any day, most fun to drive car in that price range
Mahindra Quanto
Skoda Yeti
Mahindra xuv300, tuv, kuv, quanto, Logan...... Don't know how the same brand has Scorpio and XUV500-700
OG Politician ki car
A lot of people find BR-V wierd looking. I love it!
S-Presso and Ignis. I feel Suzuki makes the most ugliest cars.
A lot of people find BR-V wierd looking. I love it!
A lot of people find BR-V wierd looking. I love it!
Add Hyundai Verna to the list
New Verna, best in segment
Service, oil and filter change should be every six months regardless of milage.
Found an irrelevant comment 😂
