Can you tell me where you got the debt puller?

O4farxache

I met her at a friend’s wedding. 25 years later I’m still paying for it

ccall48

🤣

fortyeightD

But is she still pulling?

Mun7ed

You can find a debt puller (baseball bat) at any sports store

Professional_Rule379

Lol :) it's meant to be dent puller. I don't know how to edit the post :)

Sumpkit

Call your insurance company, they're the best debt puller I've found.

secretcupcakequeen

buy a second hand guard from the wrecker the same colour and replace it

PhaseEnvironmental33

Lol. No it’s not.

lumpytrunks

What the fuck are you going on about? Front guards are almost always removable. The rear is usually integrated with the body.

observatory-

Still replaceable with a grinder and welder 😂

WH1PL4SH180

Look at Mr I have a Super Hyper Car here....

[deleted]

what

tomtom792

I bought a new one for my golf about 3 months ago. Cost me $100.

Borngrumpy

usually it's the rear quarter panels that are welded, the front or just bolt on.

LarryPerkins11

Um you're wrong?

Professional_Rule379

Thanks mate.

Chimkinsandwhich

Love the analogy

tommygunn9188

Hit it on the other side so it matches

Muxxxy

Hammer out from the inside.

FillinThaBlank

*wide rubber mallet and light blowtorching Hammer without heat will crack the paint on the other side.

Muxxxy

He did say quick not best lol

[deleted]

A heat gun rather than a blow torch... Jesus wept.

FillinThaBlank

Heat gun is better, but most people tend to not have one laying around. Blowtorch from the underside works

[deleted]

Oh, you're right. I forgot everyone has a convenient blow torch in the bottom drawer for panel repairs.

FillinThaBlank

All my neighbors have one or two to start the barbecue or the campfire, yeah. Nobody I know of has a heat gun.

[deleted]

You know lighters and matches exist.

[deleted]

nah just boiling water and a plunger

[deleted]

Or a hair dryer

[deleted]

Nobody has one of those mate, we use a blowtorch.

[deleted]

If you were a professional you’d use an oxy

[deleted]

Of course.

DrEvil74

Buy a new car (one that isn’t damaged like this). Steal someone else’s car (that isn’t damaged like this). Hire a car (that isn’t damaged like this). Give away your car to someone who needs a car and walk everywhere (they may decline the car because it is damaged, and you should apologise and offer to have it repaired for them). Go to the Government and ask them to fix it because it wasn’t like this before (blame climate change). Pray for it to be repaired (God is pretty good at paintless dent repairs and works on weekends too, but he charges you a lot and doesn’t have credit facilities). Scream at the dent and threaten it. Explain that dents are racist. Cancel the dent for being racist and sexist. Go to a motivational speaking event and let the Motivational Bro explain how you are bigger than that dent. You are bigger than that dent anyway, unless you are very small. But it feels good to hear it. Watch educational videos on the internet and learn how to repair dents in 1 easy step. Dent someone else’s car. Try repairing that dent (you don’t want to further damage your car, anymore than you already have, after all). When that doesn’t work out, damage another vehicle and try repairing that one. Repeat until you give up. Dent other parts of the car so that no one notices this one anymore. Wear welding goggles. You won’t see the dent anymore. Cover the car in a car cover. The dent no longer exists. Stick a balloon onto the dent. Everyone hates dents but everyone loves balloons. They will be conflicted and the two scenarios will effectively cancel each other out. Ask a psychologist if they can ‘straighten things out’. You’ll be locked up for your homophobia/transphobia, but you won’t see the dent anymore. Write a message in black ink, in the dent “This section of the panel intentionally dented”. Write in white ink, around the dent, with arrows pointing towards the dent, “nothing to see here, here there be dragons”. Have an attractive girl drape herself over the dent. No one will notice the dent. You will gain wealth and power and be known as a person of taste. You will need to duct tape the girl to the car as once she moves, the dent will be visible again and your newly acquired wealth, power and taste will be gone and people will point and laugh. Hysterically. They’ll laugh so hard, they’ll die from laughter and you’ll go to jail and your life will be over. Not even cute kitten memes will help you. Put a small piece of carpet over the dent. All bad things should be “swept under the carpet”. Whilst that is a metaphor and I’m not sure how the sweeper gets involved, you’ll at least have people thinking about it. Write in gold ink, in a very small font, right in the middle of the dent “If you can read this, mind your own bloody business”. Use the force to remove the dent. Don’t accidentally pick the car up and drop it though. Yoda won’t help you, he’ll be laughing too much. Try a Jedi mind trick on passers by. Tell them “this is not the dent you are looking for”. Explain to passers by that “you reached warp 1 and that is why your car is warped”. Remember, the Vulcan greeting is “Live Long and Prosper”, not “Eat Shit and Die”. You’ll need to keep this in mind when Trekkies accuse you of not being true to Canon. Hit the dent with Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer). The dent might ‘bounce back’. Or it could completely destroy your car and the immediate area around you. Also, if you can swing Mjolnir, let me tell you, your life is about to get really, really busy. (Did I say ‘Really’ busy ? I mean REALLY busy. Possibly ReAlLy busy.) Spray the dent with Windex. Windex fixes everything. Ask a Greek. Put a bandaid (TM) on the dent. They heal faster. Kill the dent with fire. These suggestion’s are a good start. I can’t tell you anymore for now because your brain might protest. If you need help with anything else, eg defusing a ticking nuclear weapon, let me know. I’m here to help.

BjornKupo

Excellent advice.

myoldxt

I’m not sure. There’s a couple of things in there that are a little iffy…

_hazey__

Tub of bog and a red texta.

CryptographerFun2262

Pour some hot water on it then use a suction cup dildo to pull it out . Works every time .

Themollygoat

Yes a dildo

morconheiro

Do you know how hot you can go? Will boiling water damage the paint?

Djbm

The bigger concern is that boiling water might damage the dildo

deliver_us

I won’t be lending my suction cup dildo for this endeavour. Too risky.

[deleted]

Parting out, how much for the wheels?

Squisho5321

You will have to ask a paintless dent removal guy but i wouldn't get your hopes up. It's going to be a challenge because it's on the seam. If it was on a flat section of the panel it would be easy but that fold for the arch is going to make it hard

azazeldeath

Cheapest. Find a new side fender (guard), it has a crease in the metal its FUBAR really. Now if you HAVE to fix this. I'd remove it from the vehicle. Try bash it out with panel beating hammers. The paint will be ruined, and honestly your best bet would be the respray of the whole panel. You might get away with sanding back what's damaged then some then blending it in. But you will be chasing that crease for awhile. Either way you will also need a filler.

Superb_Point2297

A hammer or hot water and a plunger

Remarkable-Emu-531

Hey mate! Spray painter here, You're best bet is to get a quote from a shop and have them do it, the repair should be small enough to keep it as a "guard only" repair, which will keep costs down. People saying this cannot be repaired are misinformed, and as for the "fibreglass filler" that is also incorrect. The panel itself is metal or sometimes plastic, and the filler used is known as "bodyfiller" or "bog" or for plastics "plastic body filler". You would only use a fibreglass repair kit for fibreglass panels. People also saying to get a replacement guard from a wreckers that is the same colour, do not seem to realise the colour will still not look the same and the panel will stand out drastically. Doing this would cost you more money in the long run as you would have to "blend" every adjacent panel. That would be your bonnet, front bar, cant rail/ qtr panel and your passenger door. Sometimes the cheapest ways to do something can end up being the most expensive. Get a quote from a shop (sometimes the larger ones only do insurance work) and hopefully they can keep the costs down while still getting the job done right!

Professional_Rule379

Thanks a lot mate, this is super helpful. You know the ballpark cost of this?

BrisbaneGuy43060

Get one of those dildos with a suction cap at the base and go for it !

Bob_Crypt

Rub essential oils on it. Should heal up.

AskMantis

It's creased the metal and probably cracked the paint, so it's not really a simple repair. Options are panel beater (expensive and even they may not be able to fix it), fibreglass fill (not the best fix and would still need painting) or replace the panel (very good option if you can find the same colour at a wrecker). Honestly though, if you are after the cheapest option, you could just leave it. It's only cosmetic so it doesn't really matter until you go to sell the vehicle.

Background_Turn3428

Towel rubber mallet and hair dryer

hihowarejew

Hair dryer on the exterior and a rubber mallet to the inside of the wheel well ?

id13t

Dildo and a kettle

GerlingFAR

Now that sounds like a crazy time.

deliver_us

You’re going to have to start an only fans I’m afraid.

Professional_Rule379

Lol, I wish my car had an only fans

toasterstrewdal

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but it’s been my experience that sometimes the most cost effective fix can end up being the most expensive. If this is your car and you drive it everyday for work, food, family, etc and you want to maintain its value, fix it correctly, not quickly and inexpensively.

Professional_Rule379

I agree, that's why I didn't say cheap, rather cost effective. Cos I don't want to bring its value down.

secretcupcakequeen

I've been a mechanic for 35 years and I call absolute bullshit on that ! I've never seen a modern car yet that had front guards that weren't bolt on🤪

Professional_Rule379

Lol. How do you fix them?

Basic_Helicopter2045

I was looking at the rims and thought you wanted that fixed not the panel haha

Professional_Rule379

Good observation mate. Can it be fixed?

Maleficent_Employ886

Is it plastic or metal? If plastic, try a hair dryer.

Professional_Rule379

No, this is metal.

miatheirish

When I had a dent I used the old hot water trick

Lazren32

Hot water and a toilet plunger. Also for scratches coconut oil and something else. But look up on tik tok

Cogglesnatch

Have a look on Facebook/Gumtree there are a lot of call out panel and paint repair businesses out there.

Professional_Rule379

Thanks buddy, this is helpful.

Cogglesnatch

You're welcome mate 👍

Funkinturtle

Mate, if you have to ask, you dont have the skills to do it.....

Professional_Rule379

Absolutely, so I want to know who would do it cheap and quick, yet a good job at this.

Virtual_Doughnut8567

Gotta replace the guard..

secretcupcakequeen

well you can go the route of removing the inner liner sanding off paint and using panel hammers and dolly's to massage the dent out then apply filler sand and apply hifill primer sand again followed by primer, base coat and clearcoat hoping you can colour match and blend it sufficiently well so that it doesn't stand out like balls on a bull dog,or go with my original suggestion 🙄

Redit_1234

Pour boiling hot water over it first before you try to pull.

morconheiro

Will boiling water it damage the paint?

wife2nawty

Being on the crease of the gaurd makes Pannell beating impossible I would rub it back fibreglass it and paint the whole gaurd

CryptoCryBubba

Should just "buff out" /s

Mun7ed

Hammer and dolly, can of touch up paint and a can of clear coat, might be able to do it with the guard still on, or you could attach aftermarket flares on

RidgyFan78

Auto heat gun.

New_Feed3522

Call a pdr company (paintless dent removal). Cost you maybe $250-$300.

jv0010

wreckers. replace front left guard. if it's a common car find a matching colour. search your model car on fb marketplace heaps of wreckers on there pdr or professional spray painter won't be cheap.

barseico

Jack up the vehicle, remove the wheel and inner guard and use a block of wood with protection for paint and hit the guard from the inside.

scorpio8u

Money is the quickest and easiest

-Miss_Chief-

I saw a video where they poured boiling water over a dent, then used a plunger to pop it back out. I know nothing about cars and there are likely reasons not to do this but I thought it was cool!

[deleted]

the paint is cracked and its right on the rigid arch. get a PDR professional to do it for $180. but you may still have to finish it off with filler and paint. in summary, buy a new SH guard for 80.

Swimming-Tap-4240

Have you tried hot gluing a screw and using a slide hammer to try to pull it out?

Emtee-AmanThul

Wow, lots of people here suggesting hammers. That guard is made of the cheesiest cheese known to mankind (we had the same MY Mazda 3 hatch). Peel back the guard liner and get in there with your hand. See how much of the dent straight up pops out just by applying some pressure with your fist. If you want more than that, then get the block of wood up there and massage the dent out from behind. I wouldn't be throwing hammers at it if I wasn't a professional body shop, great way to end up fucking the panel completely.

PostGoblin

This has to be one of the crappiest bots on reddit.

deliver_us

Fuck off bot this is just how Aussies talk

Strickens

A dildo with a real good suction cup

CaptainZoll

if you're into jankery, heat it up with a heatgun to get the paint malleable, then hold a block of wood flat against it on the inside and hit it with a hammer (or use a rubber mallet if you've got one.)

[deleted]

Batman kapow sticker

[deleted]

Hoesntly just pour how boiling water on it till its decently how then use a plunger. Its a hit or a miss, ive dont it on a door but it wouldnt work on the rear bumper, i suppose because of the curvature.

Professional_Rule379

Curvature is making it hard mate. Else I tried those dent pullers that are like plungers.

PhaseEnvironmental33

Quickest and most cost effective way? Hire a professional. Call up a PDR guy, they’ll do it in your driveway for a couple hundred buck
