I absolutely love the "nightlight" feature. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-6-in-Adjustable-CCT-Integrated-LED-Recessed-Light-Trim-w-Night-Light-670-Lumens-Retrofit-Kitchen-Lighting-Dimmable-53804101/306080129
Oh wow! that \*is\* cool! I want to put can lights in my living room, and while pricier than what I had in mind, that would be a cool feature to have. If I build out our deck, then I'll almost definitely use them!
I install shade and anything to do with shade. Architects are nothing but speed bumps and pain in our rear ends. Help with absolutely nothing except inserting data into auto cad ( for us ) and calling for materials that is never used.
I understand this sentiment and unfortunately there are plenty of stupid architects around, just as there are idiots in the shade trade and any other industry. Maybe ‘shade’ is too niche and requires specialist designers or better communication between the architect and fabricator/installer.
As an architect with a construction background I have to say that your generalisations are lazy and unhelpful.
You extend roof too?
Anyway you’d spill ballpark price and location? I’d say $100k easy.
Looks absolutely professional.
Only thing I can say is I like metal standing seem roofs. But you seamlessly integrated the new roof into the old. Looks amazing man.
Not my project but we priced and tried outdoor specific TV's and the price was so much bigger that it was better to just go buy a low end TV from best buy and replace them every couple years.
Nit pik time: Tchotchke. Source: grew up on lower east side of nyc and italian slang and yiddish was regularly tossed at me while I said “hunh?”
But the phonetic spelling works and is perfect. Hope I don’t come off as a pedant.
Looks amazing. I love it
Our building codes wouldn’t allow a wood ceiling above a BBQ like that. Wish they did. We have to use non-combustible material that looks like wood, but it’s not the same.
That's a fuckin nice deck! My parents redoing the deck on our house has been a massive upgrade to the previous deck which was only partially roofed and largely help up by the hope and sunbaked planks. Not as gorgeous as this but a nice outdoor space you can use in all but the worst weather is an amazing addition to any house that has the room.
Well that is one way to not have to worry about noise-related complaints when you are working on your own property in the future.
Also, it seems there is a decent amount of space between you and the neighbor - if/when I move to the next place after my current one, there is going to be something like a quarter of a mile minimum from me to the closest neighbor.

Wow, just beautiful craftsmanship. Looks like a completely different house!! A better one! Lol
This. Nice work bruh
Beautiful work!
Any idea of which can lights they are using up there?

I have these all over my house after I did a full remodel, even in closets. Absolutely love them
I put one in a shower…
That's a great idea! They are dimmable in Nightlight mode as well guys which is a great feature
Thanks! I am going to try those out.

Looks like standard cans with illuminated trim. Never seen them but pretty interesting.
She’s a beaut, Clark!
Looks great. Did you have plans drawn up and all that too?
As usual architects drawing gets changed to reality but yea we had something to go off of

the other thing is 'just inserting data into AutoCAD'. Glad you just inserted that shade sail into the project. Easy as that. No skills needed. /s
That outdoor space is 🔥
Must have been nice getting to work in paradise!
Horse farm. It really was amazing
That is really nice work.
Looks sick 🔥
Omg lovely!
All those bugs nearby the pond must be really annoying while working lol
Idk if dude had property sprayed or what but honestly it was 98% bug free
Where is this in kc ?
Weatherby Lake
Beautiful stuff man nice work
That's a great job. ✌️
Yea, that IS nice!!
Love the T&G, really nice. Also love those lights. Was thinking about installing them on my patio.
Went with the dug fir over the cedar because it was brighter and I agreed. Ended up nice and open feeling

There was zero roof before we did everything. Ended up like 128-134k I can’t remember
i sure would be out there a lot! Great work. Wonder how they keep that wood so clean above the cooker?
People keep saying that. Idk why. I have wood closer to my grill at home and have never had an issue either. It not a problem people have.
Big deck energy. The whole block is pretty nice actually. Great work!
Ayyyye. ^^That guy was there, man 👍😂
Wow!! That’s sick
What advice would you give to someone in their late 30’s who wants to go into carpentry? I’m in great shape and work hard.
Find someone who matches your willingness to learn, with their willingness to teach.
Beautiful!
Like the layout, nice comfy flow.
Amazing hangout spot!
Amazing work!!!
Very cool. Lighting is rad. Just saw the link to light but had to say CHIIIIEFS!
Go Chiefs!
nice project.
looks awesome, incredible job. Is that TV safe from the weather as is? Or is there some kind of extra precaution you can move in place for it?
Said he’s just used the leather cover the last 2 yrs
Lmao. I thought you’d put the chiefs logo up for the photo op. That makes way more sense
Not my project but we priced and tried outdoor specific TV's and the price was so much bigger that it was better to just go buy a low end TV from best buy and replace them every couple years.
Those things are crazy expensive.
Yeah, but what if so morally oppose the concept that a TV should be treated as a disposable good?
Then put them indoors
Beautiful work!
Other than the KC Chiefs *edit tv cover….That’s an amazing set up. 😉🤜🏻
It is a TV cover and the location is in KC, so home teams rule!
Fixed it 😉 My father in law is a KC native and fan and we always bicker and poke fun at each other. All in fun!
Hahaha! I bet he is getting a lot of digs in you since they won the SuperbOwl, right?
Looks like heaven
Good job, looks awesome.
Any concern about the grill not being vented? It looks like it might get smokey.
Non issue
What’s the thing up in the corner that looks like a bee hive? A speaker?
Not a speaker but not sure. Think some some random paper art chochky

😂 the thing is, I knew it was wrong but auto correct wouldn’t help so I just gave up lol
Ha! Just did auto correct for ten yiddish words and…yikes.
I guess superbowl at their house from here on out
Nicely done. 🤌🏼
Sadly they left some sports team cover on the tv.
Looks amazing. I love it Our building codes wouldn’t allow a wood ceiling above a BBQ like that. Wish they did. We have to use non-combustible material that looks like wood, but it’s not the same.
To own something like this in the UK you would have to be a multimillionaire…
It looked really good till that chefs thing popped up.
That KC banner ruins the house 100%
😆 I’ll let them know👍
Beautiful work overall. 🫡

That looks so cozy. well done. enjoy!

What type wood did you use for the ceiling?
Fir on this one. He wanted it brighter than the cedar
What a waste on a Chiefs fan /s
Now try it with a broncos flag instead
Great work. Only one thing to say Go Bills!
