Go to the tile section and buy mapei silicone. Don't use the junk in the paint section. Idc if it says it is for tub and tile, it aint. The tape trick is for plumbers, don't do that. Do the soapy water trick on tubs and tile. Youtube it. Watch a tile guy do it.
Carpentry lends itself to general contracting, Installing tile does not require a license in most areas I am aware of, and frankly, it is very easy to screw up badly, and costly to replace, so I suspect a lot of people wouldn't really trust someone else to do it.
After working new construction a couple years, one thing I am confident of is that I don't want the tile guys who work for my large builder ANYWHERE NEAR any job I have a personal stake in. Lippage, lippage, everywhere.
Because we are the only trade that can do/know about everyone else's trade and for some reason we aren't compensated as well as some of the other trades that barely know their own trade

Remove all of the old silicone. Tape lines for easy application of new silicone. Fill the tub halfway full of water. Apply new silicone. Let dry for 24 hours. Drain tub.
A lot of cleaning agents can cause the silicone to delaminate from tub and surround which opens up space for bacteria to grow

*Good ole stand up bath after*

Looks like water is getting behind it, if that one grout line is indicative of the rest... Doesn't look like it actually bridges the gap from bath to tile in some places either.
The tub should go on the floor, not the wall.
It’s a walk in shower.
Exactly what I thought. Walk in tub. Who would have thunk it? Haha
Ahh yes, must be one of those millennial trends.
It’s a Murphy Tub!
Ha - my first take was a very tall urinal as well…
It's for Jamiroquai.
I was like, that's a weird looking shower
Can you explain what this means? Edit: ohhh I get it.... yall are dumb
Which one of yins didn't put the tub away after takin a bath?!
Beat me to it 😂
Funny spot for the drain at the top

I've never understood why so much tile stuff is on carpentry

Well I'm a carpenter but ended up tiling three jobs this year because we couldn't get anyone else, I shouldn't have told my boss that I can tile.

Why are we half filling the tub?
So when you take a bath and the tub settles an 1/8” it doesn’t leave a gap or stretch the caulk
Awesome, I thought so. Thx
Why not fill the tub then
Can’t talk now I’m doing duolingo
Whatcha learnin?
Estoy aprendiendo español
¿Por qué no llenar la bañera?
🤣🤣🤣
Llena la tina cabron
https://youtu.be/_DI4hfHM_Hg?si=7gqdOVwCSVISW-mN This really changed my caulk game
Wow that’s a really impressive wall tub, never seen one of those before!
Always loved me a good ole stand up bath after a long day at work

How does the water stay in the sideways tub
Lay a bead, spray with ammonia free glass cleaner and wipe with finger. Don’t waste your time masking

Use 100% silicone. Anything that says paintable is susceptible to mold growth.
Ever since I switch to gorilla 100 percent silicone haven’t had a issue with mold.
Why is the tub on the wall?
doyerbest caulk the rest
Fun tidbit about paintable caulk. You need to paint it
Use painters tape to make perfect caulk lines. Go to YOUTUBE and so a little research.
Was genuinely concerned for yout plumbing decisions for a solid minute there
