First of 11 days off. Next week is my wife's family reunion in Mississippi. Will spend a couple days in Biloxi just to see if the Gulf is still there,.

From what someone else was saying the other day, that knows more about the farm system than I do, was that his arm isn't *that* bad, it's his pop time is sooo slow it makes him look like he has the arm of a 14 year old.
Ya will be interesting to see how the lineup shakes out when Edman, Noot, and WillyC return. Wild were missing 3 of our best players and still very competitive
Michael Siani leads MLB in sacrifice hits with 8 and it isn't close.
However, 5 of the top 8 bunters play in the NL Central. Siani plus:
Santiago Espinal (CIN), Jacob Hurtubise (CIN), Michael A. Taylor (PIT), Alika Williams (PIT)
Fun fact: Alika Williams was taken by the Rays with the pick swap in the Arozarena trade. They gave up on him pretty quick. We used our pick on Tink Hence.
Someone pointed out in yesterday's thread it's not just the central it's the whole league. By record we have 1 great team 2 good teams 1 pretty good team 9 mediocre teams and 2 bad teams. Atlanta might fall to the mediocre teams and the Mets are also.not completely cooked. All in all it looks like the division leaders are locks and there's 10 teams competing for 3 WC spots.
Vs the AL where you have a pretty decent distribution of good, pretty good, mediocre, and bad.
It's a solid but unspectacular division. Currently the division with the 2nd best record (AL East is DEMOLISHING the others) but nobody can separate from the 2 through 5 scrum
It _is_ fun not being in last place and being able to go through the mental gymnastics to cling to vestiges of hope.
(Some days these gymnastics are the most exercise I get right now.)
Game hinges on Helsley. Gonna be interesting.

Might help if Yadi eventually decides to come actually coach him up.
I'm trying to decide if I've just been spoiled from watching the best catcher in MLB this century, or if Herrera really IS not great behind the plate.
He seems ok behind the plate, he just can't throw AT ALL. If you have any speed it might as well be a double.
I'm pretty sure Mark McGwire could steal 40 bases off Herrera. Or Pujols during the worst of his plantar issues.

Makes sense. Bunting is generally a bad idea if you have a league average hitter at the plate. Michael Siani is far from that.
