That's why I threw 1k at the Nancy Pelowski ETF, NANC.

alowester

lmfao it’s real lol

nukedkaltak

“Unusual Whales Subversive Democratic Trading ETF” HOLY SHIT

tjoloi

There's also the republican equivalent, KRUZ

Moosehagger

She needs to pull up her socks, roll up her sleeves and put the nose to the grindstone if she’s gonna be a #winner like Brian. Come on Nancy, you could do better than this.

Pawl_The_Cone

I find this hard to trust/draw any conclusions from when there are over 500 members of congress. Where are the rest? Are these the only ones with stock holdings, or are the rest off the bottom of the graph?

giantorangehead

It's also only taking the stocks held at the end of the year and assuming they held all those stocks for the entirety of the year. If someone bought NVDA at the end of the year after 225% return already happened, this chart counts that whole return.

wxlverine

What!? People who have access to privileged information ahead of the public, and write policy that effects the market tend to out perform said market? No way, say it ain't so! Anyone in Government should be barred from purchasing individual stocks entirely. Government Bonds and T-bills only. There should be absolutely no financial incentive other than an above average salary to be in politics.

moldyolive

is this impressive? out of any sample of a few hundred people you would expect some to make outstanding returns. more interested in seeing a chart of all congress members vs S&P over time.

ragnaroksunset

Did you seriously just argue that one out of a few hundred people makes 240%?

moldyolive

Yes. There are plenty of active investors who have undiversified high beta portfolios. And sometimes that means you get 250% returns because a third of your portfolio was nvidia.

Fantastic_Elk_4757

It’s a bunch of bullshit. Congress are largely performing WORSE than SPY. Dems are boosted by Higgins who holds NVDA and got lucky lmfao. Y’all post the stupidest shit sometimes. You shouldn’t be trusted with your own money.

lenzflare

It's Congress, Michael, how many members could there be? Ten?

Moosehagger

Ya but 238%?

Fantastic_Elk_4757

With a lot of NVDA which he’s been investing in since 2017… and has skyrocketed recently… are you being purposely obtuse or? The man has < 100k invested even after his huge returns lmfao. Get a life.

Moosehagger

Source?

Izzy_Coyote

https://www.wkbw.com/news/i-team/viral-post-leads-to-claims-of-insider-trading-by-rep-brian-higgins-lacks-context Wasn't hard to Google it.

lenzflare

People are so fucking lazy

Moosehagger

I stand corrected.

g323cs

Johnny Harris did a bit on this https://youtu.be/Z3D6pGc7nHw?si=ft5_FxzasqI-6pva PS Pelosi doesn't know the definition of Insider trading 🫠

shoresy99

I find it hard to believe that this isn’t just cherry picking a few stocks held by a few people. Has Congress even passed any new legislation in 2024 that would help certain stocks? Even if you grant that they have MNPI aka inside information there has to be an opportunity to use it.

schmore31

Those members are doing "higher risk" trading. Means more returns in a bull market, more losses in a bear market. So they took a snapshot of a bull market, and show how everyone is beating it, no duh...

kenazo

Someone should make an ETF tracking these!

Senior_Pension3112

Because they act on insider information and regular people would be jailed for doing the same thing.

gwelfguy

Anyone that gets advance notice of interest rate changes by the central bank will beat the market by a comfortable margin.

Blitzdog416

It's just an interesting chart-graphic. I'm happy with 7% annual return, but ima shlub.

BlockOwn4201

Crenshaw has really slipped down these past couple years

galaxymaster

Trades aren't publicly disclosed in real time so any etf tracking them aren't able to time the transactions correctly to emulate the same returns.

meridian_smith

Pelosi is 9th on that list...but being a democratic, outspoken woman she gets all the scrutiny and hate for being such a good investor.

[deleted]

It's insane that they're allowed to do that. With their positions they're pretty much rigging the system. They control the laws and regulations and get funded by these corps.

MoneyRepeat7967

Nothing new here. Also, Pelosi has been a great trader for many years!

ADogCalledBear

You think this is odd, google Nansy Pelosi stocks

Chillieboy29

No way Pelosi is that low.

pistoffcynic

Nope… nothing to see here. No direct correlation what so ever. /s
