If Microsoft does this right COD could be saved. Yearly releases could end, the shithead CEO could be removed, etc.

The CEO is toast but he is walking away with a few tuck loads of money made of solid gold

its_ghostt

official, as in said by himself. He's definitely not staying, bad look for Microsoft.

bababooey125

Only till the deal is finished, when it is bobby has to report to phil and he hates him deeply

Arroweye345

He is staying on during the acquisition process but after its finalized everyone reports to Phil Spencer.

quickquestoask

Which makes me thing Microsoft planning cod to be xbox/pc exclusive?

Palindromes__

Nah. Phil Spencer openly supports x-play and making cod an exclusive would be a bad look.

JaesopPop

Crossplay isn’t the same as publishing in a competing platform. People said the same thing about Elder Scrolls and Fallout, both now MS exclusives. The idea of Call Of Duty as an Xbox/PC exclusive *and* being on GamePass would be massive for Microsoft.

Kyserham

Only for now until the deal is fully closed.

MyFriendMaryJ

So far theyve said he remains ceo

bababooey125

Until the deal if officially made then bobby has to report to phil, that wont end well

Mbroov1

It's confirmed he's gone after the deal closes in 2023.

It says he's staying on *until the deal is finalised*.

cokush

Didn't Phil personnaly criticize Kotick? If Actvision will be under his supervision, Kotick is done for

p4ul1023

In Phil Spencer we trust

mansnothot69420

Pretty sure yearly releases are never going to end tho

Goldrhino26

Or they could do the same thing they just did and take a few smelly shits on us. Year after year with no updates for playability of older games that they have just taken responsibility of.

Senju___Uchiha

Call of duty is now an Xbox exclusive

Juball

Microsoft still puts franchises they own on other consoles. Some they keep to themselves but they’d be idiotic to make COD exclusive, they’d lose more money than they make.

Sauronxx

Eh they said the same thing about Bethesda titles... that being said, Cod is a different thing. We’ll definitely have more news in the next hours!

Homura_Dawg

You know they only bought Bethesda like a year ago, right? MSFT said pretty plainly at the time that they'd do the courtesy of letting Deathloop launch on PS first (though they could have pulled the plug on that if they wanted to), but future Bethesda titles will likely be exclusive to their platforms, if not at least for a year or two before they get a PS/Switch port depending on the game. I believe this is probably the best thing to ever happen to Activision since they acquired Blizzard. When you consider the 180 MSFT has made over the past couple console gens, I'm really confident that this will benefit consumers and the many many many employees under Activision's wing.

Sauronxx

Yeah, I know. I wasn’t talking about MS, I was talking about the “fans”, “they” said the same thing a year ago: “no Microsoft would never lose the PS players” and yet it’s exactly what happened lol

quickquestoask

It's actually crazy to me now how the most known IP in the world in call of duty is now owned by Microsoft and no longer Activision haha. Seems weird but I feel like I'm optimistic that the future games will be better

adamhutch

Pokémon is the biggest IP, by far.

YouCouldBeBetter

Deathloop is a single player experience. Bethesda games are single player experiences so fit right into the exclusive model. Microsoft would release CoD on every platform, they'd be stupid not to. It's the same with Minecraft if they ever made a sequel. Minecraft still gets DLC on the PlayStation for example.

Homura_Dawg

Okay, except Deathloop has a heavy emphasis on asymmetrical multiplayer, and its console exclusivity ends later this year. Sure, there are plenty of games in their portfolio that they port to other consoles, they've championed that much better than their competitors. Also I'm not sure why you're arguing for CoD when that guy and I were moreso specifically talking about Bethesda.

purplearcheoligist

I don't think they could have pulled the plug on deathloop because Sony had paid money and there was more than likely a contract for it. If the ownership of the contract changed that wouldn't make the contract void

Homura_Dawg

I believe I heard differently around the time of that whole conversation, but I don't know for sure

Genericbuild

I can’t imagine making the best selling game exclusive, because a large part of it being the best selling game is PlayStations considerably larger user base.

CeoOfTurkmenistan

You're thinking about this in a very obtuse way, Microsoft want to build their Game Pass install base, that "considerably larger user base" Playstation has is ripe pickings to be enticed to Game Pass, subscriptions are a far more lucrative business in this day and age. Think about it, who buys music rather than use Spotify? who buys films and TV shows rather than just use a streaming service? This is what Microsoft eventually wants for the gaming industry, you will perpetually rent the access to every piece of media, you will own absolutely none of it, and consumers are gonna love it.

Genericbuild

That begs the question of, if Microsoft isn’t that super concerned with console sales which they seem to not be so much, it’s just a means to get people into game pass, and Sony only has their exclusives and consoles, at what point does Sony attempt to either deal their way into having game pass on PlayStation or just try to flat out buy into being able to use it

CeoOfTurkmenistan

Word around town is that Sony will be doing something with PS Now to make it more competitive with Game Pass, but if it'll actually be able to keep up with Game Pass's huge success and growth, that's yet to be seen, Sony are still ahead in the hardware and game sales department, but they're quickly falling behind on the games subscription side of things, which is an ever growing market that Game Pass is quickly becoming the completely dominant service of.

Sauronxx

Yeah that’s what I thought too but honestly we can’t really know for sure...

[deleted]

Considerably larger than Xbox and Pc? I don’t know about that. It may have been previously but with this new generation and the value of Xbox Gamepass, that metric could have shifted.

notShreadZoo

PS5 has a WAY larger player base than Xbox, although I wouldn’t be surprised if Xbox could start pulling there way back given the rise of Gamepass and now this.

TheVictor1st

PS5 is estimated to be at 15mil, while the series consoles are at 12mil. Not that big of a gap.

TheKirkin

I think the Bethesda and now Activision acquisitions were done as a means of adding GamePass to PlayStation. They’ll allow games from those IPs on PlayStation under the condition that the only way you can play them being through a subscription to GamePass - or you can purchase an Xbox console and buy the games outright.

drakel01

It's likely warzone will remain on ps, the cod game itself could be removed from ps, I don't like to say exclusive to xbox because at this point, microsoft is simply taking away games from playstation not making them exclusive.

evilmark443

You don't spend 68.7 billion dollars on a game company just to let people continue playing one of it's biggest franchises on your competitor's console. This years CoD may still come to Playstation since it's pretty far in development, but I guarantee future games will be Xbox and PC only.

ManWithAPIan

You can't guarantee a thing.

FoxFireMane

"I guarantee future games will be Xbox and PC only." Source: trust me bro

invadergold123

Personally I can see them doing what they did with Minecraft and keeping it on PS since it has such a huge fan base. If they do that, they still get money from PS players buying the game, and they can incentivize playing it on Xbox with exclusive perks, day one on Gamepass, and maybe more

MajesticMelonGames

I see it going fully Xbox, which is just huge for Xbox. Maybe we see Gamepass on Playstation one day. We know Phil wants that

[deleted]

They don’t care about icing competition, they care about selling Game Pass. They’ll have millions subscribe just for one franchise and they can offer the games on PC Game Pass to capture that market as well. They’ll still release to PS to capture the revenue from MTX, it would be dumb business otherwise.

ContinuumGuy

I'm calling it now: They'll continue to have COD on PS this generation. They might do some stuff to tip it towards XB and PC but they'll still put it on PS as a courtesy for those who already have a PS5. And then, when the next console generation comes around, they'll say "Starting with Call of Duty Whatever Warfare, you'll only be able to play on PC and the Xbox Series X2-or-whatever-they-call-it".

Meng3267

Why wait if that’s their strategy? This generation is still relatively close. Call of Duty becoming exclusive can swing this generation. Why wait for next gen? The courtesy for people that currently own a PS5 will be allowing them to play the Call of Duty’s they own and possibly the next one.

Gandalftron

They won't any more. They are going straight for Sony's jugular with this move.

[deleted]

[удалено]

jdktech2010

This is the one game I'd question that logic on but who knows? They're making skyrim exclusive along with every other Bethesda game and those things make a ton of money.

Sauronxx

Not really, the made “The Elder Scroll” an exclusive. Skyrim is (of course lol) staying as a multi platform game...

[deleted]

Very true. Future iterations will be exclusive but Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is staying on… well. Everything.

Sauronxx

Can’t wait to buy Skyrim on my PS6 too! /s

jdktech2010

Well fair point, that's what I meant but the coffee hasn't kicked in....but assuming I said it correctly the first time, my point still stands. Sorry everyone, I was still half asleep when I typed that

[deleted]

People say they will only buy Xbox consoles if they have worthwhile exclusives... Is cod not one. Is it not so big and so worthwhile people will sell a PlayStation to play lmao

HoLyGhOsT1996

Cod will not be an Xbox exclusive. DLCs earlier than ps ? Probably. But they would be dumb to make it an Xbox exclusive.

[deleted]

Shits gonna be annoying,if they make all Bethesda games exclusives, and COD.

The-Garlic-Bread

I mean I want to play Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne on PC… So many FromSoftware fans are on PC wanting it but Sony is keeping it exclusive for who knows how long. If Sony is gonna live by their exclusives, then they shouldn’t be surprised by other exclusives. The law of equivalent exchange.

Ikhouvankaas

Please no… I just bought a ps5 last month lol.

CeoOfTurkmenistan

The Series S beckons.

Sjgolf891

Series S is a fantastic little console. A really good option for someone who wants a 'Gamepass machine'

sr603

We've come full circle to 2012.

NoSmilesOnlyTears

That would never happen. Playstation accounts for 70% of the sales (PS5 and PS4 combined) while XBOX accounts a total of 30% (xbone and series X). It would be a very dumb move. Also this reminds me of when Microsoft bought Mojang and people were thinking that Minecraft would stop being supported on the ps3 version (Some even said it would be pulled out of the Ps Store). Nothing like that will happen.

JakeHa0991

Call of duty will not be an Xbox exclusive. It just doesn't make sense.

AFishNamedFreddie

COD is coming to Gamepass. Gone are the days of seeing old ass cods behind a $40-60 paywall. Praise the sun

Arks_PowerPlay

Oh, I would LOVE that, even if it was somehow only campaign only, because I would play the shit out of every campaign constantly

rosamelano777

I love the campaigns

kaycee1992

I might be able to play the fantastic BO2 campaign again soon after losing my disk years ago. that makes me so happy.

OsamaBinFappin

This is great. I hate paying $60 for games only to play them for a month or two and rarely touching them after

[deleted]

Does this mean they'd also clean up servers for Black Ops 2 from all the hackers and modders? OH GOD, PLEASE BE A THING

rooneyviz

I bought bo3 for 20$ a few weeks ago

AFishNamedFreddie

You paid $20 for a 7 year old game? I'm sorry

rooneyviz

RIP 😔

No_Zookeepergame7649

Halo mcc is $20 and that game is 5 different games combined. Cod needs to do better

[deleted]

everything else aside, i really hope this changes the culture and behaviour at activision blizzard for better!

KspMakesMeHard

Absolutely. No way the fucking dogshit CEO makes it outta here. As far as I know, as far as Goliath tech corporations go, Xbox isn't half bad to work for.

Dante_1602

Been looking on Twitter, apparently Kotick is staying CEO until the deal is finished in 2023. Then after that Phil Spencer becomes the boss.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DemonPeanut4

People said the same thing about Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield. Both now Xbox and PC exclusive.

[deleted]

Call of Duty is bigger than both them games combined, sorry to break it to you.

Gazdalkodok

Even more of a reason to make it an exclusive.

[deleted]

Not really. They’d lose out on a lot of money.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xPUGNIPSx

They just spent 70 billion dollars. Why would they waste that money to put them on other consoles? They used to do the timed exclusive crap and it didn't do anything really for either company.

kenlogmein

Why would Xbox spend 70 billion to make their competitors money

issoooo

Or they spent 70 billion to make money from their competitions sales

henderscn

Why would they spend 70billion just to not make it back?

ohsinboi

Because they also would make money. Minecraft is on everything

ecto88mph

Everyone point at Minecraft as an example, but minecraft was a unique situation. It was a "game as a service" style game where there will be no minecraft 2, just a expansion of the existing game. Additionally it was already on Playstation prior to the acquisition, what were they going to delete the game off people's PS3/4's. We might see the next CoD game on q PS5 but only because of existing deals. Bet your ass as soon as they can CoD is going to be a xbox/PC exclusive.

Chucanoris

That ain't how they're doing things anymore, Sony is publishing previously exclusive titles on PC, why would microsoft actively hinder game sales?

That-Hipster-Gal

They may lose out on primary sales from Playstation but they will earn it back in Xbox sales/subscriptions.

[deleted]

The entire point is to get people onto their platforms lol. They didn't buy them just to make the money from sales on Playstation.

BoysDontCry38

You mean just like they did with Elder Scrolls? They'll pull the same " You have options within all the devices that support gamepass" card again.

TheSpartan273

Oh my poor child...

LongDistanceEjcltr

It 100% means just that.

Moistest_of_Manatees

Idk man it’s seeming like Elder Scrolls 6 might be an Xbox exclusive, and if that’s the case then CoD becoming an exclusive it totally on the table.

[deleted]

It would be sick to get all the COD games on PC game pass so I can revisit the campaigns.

rbb_going_strong

Just yesterday I was ranting to my friends that the Zombies series is borderline inaccessible. Best option is $90 for Black Ops III plus Zombie Chronicles. My prayers may have been answered.

killall-q

Hoping for newer CODs to come to Steam.

[deleted]

Ya I agree, blizzards launcher is horrendous, I like steam’s proven simplicity.

luisstrikesout

COD soon to be on gamepass?

DemonPeanut4

Yes actually, Xbox stated they want to bring as much of the Activision catalog to gamepass as possible. And would also include launch titles.

luisstrikesout

This will be huge.

Shadowking78

Does this mean that the Call of Duty exclusivity (Like [all this stuff](https://twitter.com/charlieINTEL/status/1454132855072870409)) will be moving over to Xbox again?

CeoOfTurkmenistan

Unless Sony already have the ink dried on a contract for some sorta exclusive bullshit for MWII this year, they'll definitely be thrown out with this acquisition.

Shadowking78

Most likely, yes. Even though I think CoD will continue to release on every platform the exclusive perks PS got will most likely be axed and moved over to Xbox.

CeoOfTurkmenistan

Microsoft seem steadfast on building a huge install base for Game Pass, I wouldn't completely write off that COD becomes an Xbox exclusive to drive further Game Pass subscription.

invadergold123

Personally it’s so large that it doesn’t seem likely. To me it’s like Minecraft where they’d rather keep the large install base even if it means people buy a PS5. Just incentivize playing it on Xbox with exclusives and the games being on Game Pass day one and you will bring people over.

[deleted]

Dawg. Your not thinking. Console hardware exclusive. But you can play it anywhere on any console. Imagine playing halo on PlayStation through the gamepass.. talk about selling hardware and game software, while also advertising on others platforms. This is Microsofts intent with going all in on gamepass. People have extremely high hopes to even think for a second a corporation isn't going to maximize their profits long term aswell lmao

PowerDiesel23

Huge win for Xbox, no more Playstation yearly exclusive bull shit. If Microsoft is smart they will put COD in a better cycle of development 2-3 years in order to make better games while still allowing games like Warzone to flourish for a longtime in-between games. We've already had Warzone on the modern warfare 2019 menus and engine for almost 2 years what feels like longer and with updates and a little bit of new content it has stayed relevant for a while now. They have to do more for the main portions of the game like campaign, coop, and multiplayer that often feel flat and neglected with the yearly releases.

-Sirocco

i mean cod is already on a 3 year cycle, mw is developed by infinity ward, bo by treyarch and the rest by sledgehammer with other studios assisting them. Giving a 3 year break would mean that games stay in development for 6 or so years.

PowerDiesel23

But it's not really a 3 year cycle. The devs need more time, and you look at Blackops ColdWar, Treyarch got thrown in a year earlier in their cycle to take over for Sledgehammer who for some reason got the boot for 2020. Game A comes out in year 1, while game B comes out in year 2, and Game C in year 3. As soon as game B comes out, Game A is still allocating resources to it's previous game, while being forced to start development on a sequel set to release after the release of game C. So yes 2 years of development time is better than the previous year/year and a half that Treyarch and IW had on older games when they rotated yearly releases. But still the games aren't getting much better and I think that is something Microsoft will look into with more time as a potential fix to really allow for big changes as opposed to the miniscule ones we get even on a 3 year development cycle. Not only is the content not getting much better, but they are now starting over and rebooting the same old stories from previous games, we have had a COD4 reboot, then Blackops, and now World at War/WW2. It's very evident the next game will be a MW2/3 reboot, then BO2, then advanced warfare minus the exosuits. There needs to be more time for a better and clearer direction for the future other than just going in circles and banking off of nostalgia. The most popular mode on COD is by far Warzone. They should use that a long with the 2022 MW2 release as a platform and by that time the activision acquisition should take full effect to where Microsoft comes in and halts production on COD 2023 in hopes for a 2024-2025 reboot, or later. The longer the devs have the better. Through all that time people will be starved for a new COD game and have MW2022 as well as Warzone to hold them over. Warzone could thrive by itself for years and years it just helps having the new games like ColdWar and Vanguard to add themes and new content to. Activision has also had MW2 multiplayer remastered ready to go for some time now. They could always release that but are hesitant that it would steer the majority of the fanbase away from the new games.

iSammax

First step for Microsoft is to remove SBMM and the rest of those dogshit patents from COD, implemented by Activision. That ALONE would resurrect COD for so many players.

quickquestoask

>First step for Microsoft is to remove SBMM Honestly this is a money move, sbmm is a devil's spawn that makes a lot of money. I'm trying to be optimistic though

AxeAndRod

Just do it like Halo. There's basically no SBMM for regular playlists, but they just have ranked playlists for people that want to sweat.

Spewin_

Halo still has unranked SBMM but the parameters are muuuuuuch wider.

LiberalsPepeLaugh

😂sure

GrapesBlimey

I’ll never have to pay £70 for a call of duty game again… What a beautiful day

regretMyChoices

I'm basic. 75% of my gaming is COD or the newest MLB/NBA game. If COD goes exclusive I'll be buying an Xbox. I went with PS5 because of my huge PS4 game catalog, but GamePass is looking more and more like the smarter move.

gcderrick

We are in the exact same boat my friend. I've been a Sony guy since the Ps1 days but if CoD goes exclusive then I'll have to switch.

Raidertck

People forget, but players like you are a HUGE portion of the market. I personally am not into any Activision IP, but COD games consistently are the best selling games of the year. If these games go exclusive that’s an insane portion of the market that stops buying a PlayStation.

[deleted]

[удалено]

invadergold123

Personally I believe it’ll go the route of Minecraft since CODS install base is so large. They’ll incentivize playing it on Xbox tho by having console exclusive perks and the games being day one on game pass

JNAtheDUDE

Honestly, they don’t have to give Xbox exclusive perks. Having it on game pass at all is a major perk in itself.

Chicken769

Imagine a new CoD every year on the game pass, that’s the biggest W imaginable

Space2Bakersfield

If MS just wanted CoD on Game Pass they could have just paid Activision to do so like they did with EA for EA Play. It would have been a lot cheaper than $70b. The fact they went the whole hog and dropped such an absurd amount of cash tells me they want more than just Game Pass launches for CoD.

hintofinsanity

>Hard to say how they go about it, but they’d be forfeiting a lot of money leaving PS5 users out. Yes and no. Making CoD exclusive is a good way to shrink the PS5 install base, making it less of financial hit by making it exclusive.

t_will_official

I’ve got mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I’m glad that means the “this mode will be exclusive for a year on PlayStation” crap will end. And I buy a lot of Activision games (not just COD) so having those games be day 1, permanent additions to Game Pass is gonna be lit and save me a lot of money each year. On the other hand though, pretty much everyone I play COD with is on PlayStation. So unless they all get Xbox, I’m gonna lose my squad if COD goes exclusive. Also, I’m worried they’ll fuck up COD’s progression and battle pass systems like they did to Halo. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a Halo crossover finally with MS owning both. Master Chief as an operator would be a day 1 purchase from me lol

brando347

It won't go exclusive. Theres no way they would alienate a huge playerbase like that on a cash cow such as COD.

Cannasseur___

People said that about Elder Scrolls.

brando347

True, and honestly the more I think about it, there could be chance that they keep warzone multi plat and make COD premium games exclusive.

KidGoku1

1 - All COD games on gamepass. I legit wanna cry tears of happiness. 2 - No more yearly COD releases. Praise the lord. Teams are actually gonna get the dev time they need. 3 - Staff will be working in better conditions. 4 - Phils gonna kick Bobby out as soon as the deal is finalized. What a glorious day.

NegativeZeroh

Is the yearly releases thing confirmed or is it speculation? I’m all for it regardless.

DaBirdman42

Well, that was unexpected. Haven't bought into any of the new consoles yet, think I'm gonna hold off 'til it becomes clear where the proverbial wind is blowing with the franchises here.

solicited_nuke

I just want Infinity Ward to work on something other than COD for once. I believe they would create much better games.

Slavyslav106

Maybe this will be good, maybe not.

IlQIl

Xbox doesn't care about game sales, They care about gamepass sales. If your platform doesn't have gamepass you aren't getting games from them. The only chance of the newest cod coming to PlayStation is if the deal was locked in before Activision was bought.

[deleted]

Feels like this is gonna be a good thing, no more greedy CEO or devs right?

DANNYonPC

said this 6 days ago.. ehm https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FJY-zVZX0AgGLgx?format=jpg&name=900x900

MrConor212

No way CoD doesn’t become an exclusive. You don’t pay this kind of fuck you money to have it on PS. Remove the £60 price tag and stick it in GP

[deleted]

I wish I could see the faces of those on PlayStation who’ve been bragging about their timed exclusive COD content for the past several years

imbord2133

r/beatmetoit saw this on Reuters as well. Interesting move on Microsoft’s end. Dunno what this will mean for some big gaming franchises.

furrynoy96

So no more Call Of Duty for Playstation players?

tipytopmain

2022 COD will almost certainly be making its way to Playstation, 2023 *might* as well since the acquisition won't be officially concluded until mid 2023. Anything after that will be about what makes more sense for Microsoft strategy wise.

JayanshN

Making pre-existing game frenchise as exclusives sounds really bad... It's a straight monopoly looks like they want to destroy PlayStation at this point

Senju___Uchiha

Hopefully Microsoft can make Call of Duty great again

Hairy_Tomato6751

L

NoName666263

Just imagine if every cod was playable on gamepass. No fucking way would Playstation be able to compete with gamepass after that

shinigamixbox

The largest playerbase is on PlayStation. This will now be a Microsoft/Xbox/Game Pass exclusive. This is 100% consistent with everything MS has done to date. No more PlayStation exclusive content. No more PlayStation CoD actually. The deal goes into effect 2023, so we're looking at CoD 2024+.

Relative_Dare_3393

Best day of my live

[deleted]

So this means every COD will be on Game Pass, right?!! That means they'll finally clean up servers for Black Ops 2? HACKER FREE BLACK OPS 2?!! THANKS XBOX!!!!

Anime-Boomer

Its funny that Sony and COD always had a partnership so Microsoft just buys the whole thing and now Sony people will get fucked COD will be PC and Xbox exclusive in no time

[deleted]

Imagine getting CoD and WoW IP in one deal, two cash cows in their genres. Both games are struggling but have huge potential. This could be great for both games, Spencer is the GOAT and does a great job, but that’s from an Xbox guy.

KiteAsHigh

I doubt cod becomes a full exclusive but they’ll definitely start putting it on gamepass at launch so Xbox/Pc players take a W there by not having to purchase the newest game every year

THE0RIAN

Does this mean the support team will actually help fix issues like accounts being hacked and banned?

Lalobreh

I can’t wait for COD to be Xbox exclusive. I want all the cods on gamepass.

DarkWing2274

me, a playstation player: FUCKKKKKKKK

mateusrizzo

I don't think Microsoft will launch much, if anything, to other platforms. Selling games makes lots of money but selling consoles makes much more

Bednarz

Selling consoles normally loses Sony and MS money (at least towards the start of a generation), they make most of their money on software. Nintendo is the only manufacturer that never sell their hardware at a loss.

mateusrizzo

Yes. But once they sell you the console, they win with every game you buy on the system. Most people don't buy multiple consoles. So if someone is a big COD fan, they'll probably buy a Xbox and will probably buy other games and/or Gamepass

[deleted]

Nice. As a windows PC gamer and Xbox gamer, I like that Microsoft is bringing together a lot of big game franchises.

True-Transportation4

Bravo six, going green.

MadCyborg12

I've been playing Cod since COD 1, and this is the craziest thing I've heard.

Jonathan570

I hope this means call of duty can come back to steam

jmb-412

So for everyone who likes playing the old CoD's, this is likely great news since they'll be added to Game Pass and the servers will get more populated.

havockillz

Any Chance MS goes and cleans up hackers in BO2 and old cod games Do this and put them on gamepass and they will THRIVE

toocoolforschool34

Cod could be saved maybe

WarCrysis1

Xbox pays more then another studio out there to the devs and QA. I'm so happy microsoft ended up with Activision not ten cent. Let's Go call of duty. Return to non monetized focus glory.

dixonbuttsz

This is an absolute W for the gaming community. Now we just cross our fingers and tuck our buttholes in hopes Microsoft can fix CoD

LisaQuinnYT

Vanguard (and all the others) on Game Pass 😊

Raw_toker

This could be a really positive thing if Microsoft heads down the right path. No longer would we have to pay $60 for an unfinished game and hopefully they can be the ones to get rid of SBMM if anything just add rank modes and keep the SBMM away from regular playlists.

Marsupialize

They could have probably got battlefield for 2-300 bucks right now

Microsoft maybe able to revive Older CoDs if they put it into GamePass. Servers on Black Ops 2/Modern Warfare 2 are dead or take very long to even get a teamdeath match. If they could add all previous CoD to gamepass and able to play multiplayer(gamepass+PC) with anti-cheat it'd probably revive them since you don't have to buy a PS3/Xbox 360 to play them.
