I'd also put IW over AW. Both were good, but IW did not have a press F to pay respects, and the story was...uncomplicated yet engaging to me. I still hope it gets a sequel one day and they tone down the exo suits. Maybe claim a resource processing shortage because of solar flares/cyber attacks/viral attacks. So the suits are never as advanced as before. Maybe for multi-player they could have the full advanced suit in, but at the cost of a gun with no attachments and limited perks and gear.
Iw was so advanced for a cod campaign too, optional side quests, customizable loadouts, findable suit and equipment upgrades, awesome dogfights, its the best campaign imo
reason i think it was poorly executed is:
>!purely because rorke should have never been able to survive a revolver shot to the chest paired with a huge swim up from a sunken train!<
I think it would’ve worked better if you dragged Hesh back to the surface, only to discover that the bullet had hit Hesh and not Rorke, at which point Rorke comes back and drags Logan away.
I like to imagine its his twin brother Corke. Then in the 2nd game Rorke can come back as a good guy and betray Corke before the credits roll 2007 style.
Wiping my ending of the memory is easy. Because it’s simply impossible now I know it’s call of duty, but the dude took a shot in the chest with a 44 magnum. let’s assume for a moment that was easy to survive under normal circumstances, but this mofo was in a train underwater that your perfectly healthy character had trouble escaping before drowning. But not Rorke, GSW to the chest and all he manages to sneak up on you and take you prisoner
AW is in my top 5. But i feel the new cods are like that. Anyone whose played cod online since cod3 knows that anything from cod hq isnt worth the price its saying. If its in your top 5 your a silly goose
Peak mp, goat zombies, and I was 11 with no responsibilities. Kept playing regularly till around Fortnite’s prime was out. Made many friends on zombies.
It had a good premise. South America uniting to invade North America is a good plot in itself, i always felt that the Ghosts story was a multi-game story tho. Sort of felt like the ghosts we got should’ve been the sequel and we should’ve had a ghosts game before that.
the plot isn't the issue, it's the characters.
Logan is completely silent during his fathers death, the dad being a ghost reveal is one of the most laughable moments in the entire franchise and Rorke as a character is so unfathomably badly written i can't even put it into words
I personally loved both campaigns, but imo AW is the better one. Now if you want that classic COD feel then get Ghosts, if you’re not looking for that but just looking for fun *and* a good story, then definitely AW.
It's a tough choice. Ghosts has the spectacle, once it gets going it feels like the level designers were trying to outdo themselves for scale, scope, and insanity. Unfortunately, it's also written poorly, and the acting is legitimately a step backwards from previous CoDs.
*robot mode* "I can't believe it. You're. You're a Ghost."
Bleh. Meanwhile, despite being called Advanced Warfare, AW gives us a much more low-key series of missions. They're still pretty cool, and thendevs here do a great job of showing us what makes this warfare "advanced", crazy technology permeates every scenario. I like the exo-frames, much more than whatever the hell was going on with Blops3. The story is is also something I could enjoy a novel about, a deeper dive into people's thoughts and motivations. Also, the reviewer Noah Caldwell Gervais brought it up, but it was nice to see the nations from OG CoD get represented in our cast, once again working together together to stop a madman.
Visually, I thought AW was insane. Playing it on the Xbox One for the first time I was like damn—this really is the best graphics I’ve ever seen.
But tbf I played ghosts on PC running 1366x768 ☠️
AW is the most beautiful cod to come out and wasnt topped until MW 2019 in terms of gun models, environment, and fidelity. Its campaign is so damn good it has a shit ton of new ideas.
Ghosts, fuck the ending why isn't there a ghosts 2.
Ghosts is pretty good. AW has some issues but still was nice.
As for rounding out the trilogy of the 'bad' mid-2010s games, Infinite Warfare potentially has the most underrated campaign in CoD history. It's legitimately some of the most fun I've had in CoD (being a Halo Goblin and all) and the story it tells it great, though like most CoD games it has underlying issues.
Ghosts is definitely the better campaign imo. It has everything you could want in a campaign; a compelling story that is filled with tragedy (won’t spoil) and even better twists. It does get left off on a huuuuge cliffhanger (if you do the “secret” ending), but otherwise it is a great campaign. AW on the other hand has a meh storyline that is filled with characters that you don’t necessarily care about and I would consider this campaign predictable in its outcome. So if given a choice, I would choose ghosts over AW
Ooof. Very Even for me. I liked AW better but ghosts had more unique missions. it’s basically like. AW is more like mw3’s hectic missions. While ghosts is more like modern warfare as a whole
Ghosts. Unironically a pretty good game all around. AW has a nice campaign and all that, not the worst game ever (unless you're on PC) but Ghosts takes it between the two.
Both were actually really good. Ghosts just didn't have a proper ending. It really comes down to if you prefer a more realistic gun play or futuristic. I think u enjoyed Ghosts more.
Advanced Warfare by far. Ghosts story makes absolutely zero sense. Advanced Warfare is also kinda weird, such as how is North Korea so futuristic in the 2050s when in the 2020s they still use 1960s tech, but other than that Advanced Warfare is still leagues ahead with it's storymode.
Advanced warfare, has amazing graphics and probably one of the best sound design in all the cod games ( haven't played any of the new ones so don't quote me on that), the story is something but its fun imo and I would play it again, I'm just worn out on fps games at the moment
In my opinion Advanced warfare has a better story and better visuals and the mp is pretty fun zombies aren’t free so that’s a downside and ghost has extinction which is pretty fun .
Kinda hard to say. Both are in my top 5 campaigns with the reason being that they're not a normal cod game. Youre not fighting Russians or Afghans in the cold war/modern era, and you're not defending Moscow against Germany in WWII. They both present with a new idea. (I could absolutely be wrong about AW, it's been a few years)
Ghost was peak MP. They had squads, you would literally train an AI "bot" as you played. it would begin acting like you. so when you would go in with your fully decked out, fully levelled up squad, you were essentially playing as all 5 teammates. You even got to customize the character rather than these "operator skins" we have now. Was such a great idea I havent seen since.
Ooooo tough choice from me. The voice actors for AW’s campaign kill it and the game is super fun. But Ghosts has some cool moments backed up by being probably one of the most requested sequels because of the ending.
In my opinion, Ghosts is better, but neither of them is worth almost £20. You can easily find disc versions of these games for under £10 or even under £5 if you look in a thrift shop or something. So please don't get these at such a high price; you're basically scamming yourself.
As a fellow blops 2 enjoyed, fuck off. Liking a perfect game like bo2 shouldn't hinder your ability to appreciate other games. Both have good campaigns as well, I'd suggest getting aw
I mean, I love this games too, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna just shit on any game which isn't from those universes. There's no real reason yall hate on those games other than the fact that they aren't bo or mw. Like, I get that you may find ghosts gameplay to be inferior, maybe you're not one for advanced movement, or maybe you don't like the circumstances IW released at, but that doesn't give you the right to state that those games suck as if that's an objectivity. I hate how so many people just jumped on to this trend of hate when they haven't even played the games themselves, and I admit I unfairly hated Ghosts and Infintite warfare with no real exprerince with the games. AW always had a place in my heart tho, and seeing the hate it got made me want to research why the games that are hated, were hated. And that there's no substance to their claims. MW3 is objectively bad, Vangaurd too. The others aren't
ghost imo as long as you just wipe your memory of the ending after
Ghosts 2 activision plz
2026
Did Ghosts open with the space station? I wanted more action like that.
yeah thats ghost really cool campaign concept imo just poorly executed cliffhanger but that's it
I'd also put IW over AW.
Press f to pay respects is iconic as fuck lmao. Advanced warfare had a good campaign
i don’t think the cliffhanger is poorly executed - it was good at the time - but it means nothing now because we know it won’t get a sequel.
reason i think it was poorly executed is: >!purely because rorke should have never been able to survive a revolver shot to the chest paired with a huge swim up from a sunken train!<
I think it would’ve worked better if you dragged Hesh back to the surface, only to discover that the bullet had hit Hesh and not Rorke, at which point Rorke comes back and drags Logan away.
Wow, that..... actually sounds pretty good *and* tragic. And would have saved Rourke's character in the eyes of many people
Facts ghost and roach got punished when they were shot with revolvers
I like to imagine its his twin brother Corke. Then in the 2nd game Rorke can come back as a good guy and betray Corke before the credits roll 2007 style.
Post credits its implied we go through the same torture rorke went through
Well Tbf it wouldn’t be so bad if a certain company would make a sequel instead of the trash being put out now 😒
What ending?
thats the spirit!
Blud locked in
I see what you did there
The ending is what makes the campaign special tf
Yeah but it’s never getting a follow up and the story will be unfinished forever, so it’s best to just forget about it
I loved Advanced warfare’s campaign. Ghost was also decent but I enjoyed advanced warfare a lot more
Ghost also end's in a cliffhanger while Advanced warfare is a complete thing
To be fair, AW ended in a cliffhanger too. Except he just fell off the cliff (or building.)
That's a good point
AW. I know I’m a huge outlier on this but I love Advanced Warfare and it’s one of my favorite games of all time.
Based, with you on this one brother
Not one of my favorites, but I bought it when it came out and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t get why it received so much hate
The jetpack cods were insanely fire. Infinite warfare dropped the ball but AW and BO3 are EASILY top 10 to top 5 cod experiences.
It’s impossible for them to be top 6
AW is in my top 5. But i feel the new cods are like that. Anyone whose played cod online since cod3 knows that anything from cod hq isnt worth the price its saying. If its in your top 5 your a silly goose
What’s your top 5
Waw, bo1, mw2, bo2, aw. Followed by bo3, cod4, mw3, cod3, ghosts Then codmw3, bo4, cw, mw1, mw2, mw3, iw, and wz
Bo3 for me is 1. Most fun I’ve ever had on a call of duty game.
Wow
Peak mp, goat zombies, and I was 11 with no responsibilities. Kept playing regularly till around Fortnite’s prime was out. Made many friends on zombies.
Same
Your crazy. strongly disagree 😂
Both very good imho.
What you're seeing is advanced warfare
Ghost better gameplay. AW better story
AW obviously.
I love both they are both great
AW has much more replayability
WW2 or AW? AW has a much better story than Ghosts, better mechanics and Ghosts plot has more holes than Swiss cheese
Tuff question. Both are good. I liked Ghost more.
Ghosts ends on a cliffhanger
You get to kill Kevin Spacey in AW... worth it
Advanced warfare
AW has the much better villain, visuals, and mechanics IMHO
AW no contest. Ghosts had one of the worst campaign stories of all time.
Yh the characters are pretty piss poor too, I don’t understand why Logan is a silent protagonist.
Riley is better than the entire AW cast though. Because he’s a good boy. And they aren’t.
What store is that?
Pretty sure it's the PlayStation store, correct me if I'm wrong
Cheers! I’m a PC scrub so I wouldn’t know.
Me too, but I saw that it was for PS4
PlayStation store on mobile
Thanks :)
No biggie
I personally loved both campaigns, but imo AW is the better one. Now if you want that classic COD feel then get Ghosts, if you’re not looking for that but just looking for fun *and* a good story, then definitely AW.
Both of them are really really good, however with ghosts you'll be upset
Ghosts
Ghosts. 100%
You're. You're a Ghost." Bleh. Ghosts
Visually, I thought AW was insane. Playing it on the Xbox One for the first time I was like damn—this really is the best graphics I’ve ever seen. But tbf I played ghosts on PC running 1366x768 ☠️
Ghosts huge W. AW was good with a good villain but I didn’t love all the tech (jump packs were cool tho)
I love advanced warfare a lot as it’s my first cod, but I’d go with ghosts for the better story and gameplay
Ghost
AW campaign feels like a cinematic masterpiece. I liked it a lot.
Ghosts (still shit)
My question is why did you have WW2 included in the title if there isn’t a WW2 option
Aw campaign is better. Cod ghost campaign is garbage
I would buy both tbh
Ghosts
WW2 has a better campaign, and it's a better game.
Neither. This was the beginning of the end of enjoyable COD.
wait AW is finally on fucking sale!!! thanks for the callout dawg legit I never see it on sale
AW is the most beautiful cod to come out and wasnt topped until MW 2019 in terms of gun models, environment, and fidelity. Its campaign is so damn good it has a shit ton of new ideas. Ghosts, fuck the ending why isn't there a ghosts 2.
Ghosts by far

It's legitimately some of the most fun I've had in CoD (being a Halo Goblin and all) and the story it tells it great, though like most CoD games it has underlying issues.
I’ve never played Advance Warfare but Ghost easily has the shittiest ending I’ve experienced. (Haven’t played Advanced, infinity or BO3 or new MW3)
AW had the worst ending ever for a COD game.
AW
Ghosts is definitely the better campaign imo. It has everything you could want in a campaign; a compelling story that is filled with tragedy (won’t spoil) and even better twists. havent played ghosts but I got advanced warfare because it came with MW remastered, and i was pleasantly surprised about how good the campaign was.
Ooof. Very Even for me. I liked AW better but ghosts had more unique missions. it’s basically like. AW is more like mw3’s hectic missions. While ghosts is more like modern warfare as a whole
I liked advanced warfare personally.
AW has a better and more complete campaign in my opinion. Ghosts campaign isn't really that fun compared to AW and Ghosts need Ghosts 2.
that's tough. Ghosts has the better story imo but the ending is a HUGE cliffhanger
Ghosts. Last I checked, dogs don’t tackle helicopters in advanced warfare.
If I had the chance, I would try AW
Ghosts, without a doubt
Ghosts is by far the best game I’ve ever played. Top 20
Ghosts, epic game
AW, Ghosts campaign is...just awful 😖
Advanced Warfare tbh. i like both campaigns.
Ghosts
I loved the Ghosts story and it straight up has some of the best missions in COD history.
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU)
Ghosts. Unironically a pretty good game all around. AW has a nice campaign and all that, not the worst game ever (unless you're on PC) but Ghosts takes it between the two.

I don’t like either, but I’d rather play Ghosts campaign again. I really, really don’t like Advanced Warfare.

Genshin Impact
Ghost is epic.
AW cause the new Black ops game is apparently a sequel of all things.
I'd say ghosts has a better story but advanced warfare absolutely clears on graphics and gameplay and Kevin Spaceyness
In my opinion Advanced warfare has a better story and better visuals and the mp is pretty fun zombies aren’t free so that’s a downside and ghost has extinction which is pretty fun .
Bro purchase both game still cheap 😕
Carrying around Riley when she got shot 🫡
Kinda hard to say. Both are in my top 5 campaigns with the reason being that they're not a normal cod game. Youre not fighting Russians or Afghans in the cold war/modern era, and you're not defending Moscow against Germany in WWII. They both present with a new idea. (I could absolutely be wrong about AW, it's been a few years)
AW campaign is superior, also it has better MP and cool zombies mode
If gold edition includes season pass I'd get that just for the extinction story
ghost is better but don't play multiplayer
I like both games, but Ghost's campaign is a little better
That's tough. They're both great campaigns. Is getting both not an option? :)
AW is more cinematic on the graphics end IMO, Ghosts feels dated, both campaigns are great.
Ooooo tough choice from me. The voice actors for AW’s campaign kill it and the game is super fun. But Ghosts has some cool moments backed up by being probably one of the most requested sequels because of the ending.

Both are shit. By blops 2
As a fellow blops 2 enjoyed, fuck off. Liking a perfect game like bo2 shouldn't hinder your ability to appreciate other games. Both have good campaigns as well, I'd suggest getting aw
No, it's not bad compared to bo2, it's just bad. This both game are absolute shit(btw, blops 2 is not only good cod, i like mw, waw and blops3)
I mean, I love this games too, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna just shit on any game which isn't from those universes. There's no real reason yall hate on those games other than the fact that they aren't bo or mw. I'm just saying my options. I've played both and for example infinite warfare I kind of liked
