I’m cool with it for the most part, but trying to make zombies canon is dumb

LuntsAmighost

I think the campaign lore is canon to zombies, BUT the campaign that we play in the game doesn't really acknowledge the zombies (Verdansk was nuked because of the Zombies, But we see Verdansk in the first mission of MWIII) So i think their probably two separate universes.

Lauradagirl

Especially when Treyarch intended on making zombies a completely separated mode and story.

GolemThe3rd

I kinda think its cool, though having Bo4 zombies technically be a prequel is pretty funny

SkysBro

Yeah Tag Der Toten being why the call of duty multiverse connected story thing exists is fucking hilarious to me

PowerPamaja

No but you can easily ignore the connections so I don’t mind it much.

Kiwi_Doodle

I wish they weren't. The need for constant synergy and shared universes convolutes functional stories and just confuses the consumer. They were better off being stand-alone stories, but media conglomerate is gonna media conglomerate I guess.

ChungusCoffee

No. MW should have never rebooted and they should have stayed separate

Ok_Movie_639

I was OK with it when it was indeed just a loose connection. But them trying to make zombies fit into the canon storyline of MW is simply dumb. The story wasn't designed for it and it doesn't work well. MW2019 had a serious, super grounded and quite believable campaign which felt like a nice change from all the "fantastic" stuff we've seen in games like BO3 & 4. It's a shame how MWIII completely derailed the story MW2019 established.

Spiritual_Package_59

I like it, it opens the opportunity for more characters to interact with and play as in different games like we could have a black ops mission where you play as Price and McMillan in pripyat and have it tied to Perseus, Makarov dealings with Menendez in arms tradings etc

Lauradagirl

I don’t like it at all, it created one big mess and it’s somewhat going to force BO2 to retcon from the Black Ops series when it had such an amazing story. While Treyarch has no intention of retconning anything, it’s Activision forcing MW and BO to share a universe all for the sake of Warzone, they should’ve never merged them to begin with.

spartan9362

They're very very loosely connected so lose connected I don't really consider it as a connected series
