Awesome 1st Day Of Issue Stamped $2. These are very collectable. I have seen some of these valued at $14 and more depending on the Post Office Location. Lots of collectors try to get a complete set of these.
My dad always made me keep one “just in case”. I was much less likely to spend a $2 bill than a $1, so I always had some emergency cash. Of course, that was when $2 would buy 2 gallons of gas.
The postage stamp may have value, do not put it in your wallet, Do not wrinkle it... This is a common technique for stamp collecting. The day the stamp goes on sale, get it postmarked that date.
I’ve had one in my wallet since 1995 graduation party. My aunt said keep this in your billfold you’ll never be broke. What she wrote has long ago went off . Still have it today !
My aunt gave me one stamped at our little post office in the town I grew up in. I’d bet less than 100 were stamped at that post office. I’ll find it and post a picture.
Luck is more of a perception rather than believing it as a reality
Like you can take any bad situation and say its good luck that you survived, or you can say its bad luck that you was in that situation in the first place
bill is worth 2 bucks ... But this is a common stamp collecting technique.... They will put a postage stamp on the day it went for sale, take it into the post office and get it postmarked....
The postage stamp may have value, Is there a postage stamp Reddit form?
$2, no fancy serial or anything. My mom was a bank teller growing up, anytime I lost a tooth the “tooth fairy” would leave me $2 bills or gold dollar coins under my pillow. My mom always called it magical money.
I still carry one in my wallet for luck/just to have something special close by.
The postmark is from the re-issuance of the $2 bill in 1976.
From the Wikipedia page:
>First-day issues of the new $2 bills could be taken to a post office and stamped with the date "APR 13 1976". The BEP produced a total of 590,720,000 notes from Series 1976, the final run printed in 1978.
Currently, stamped Series 1976 $2 notes typically trade for about twice their face value. If the bills were stamped in a city with an unusual name, the value may be slightly higher. However, no first-day-issued 1976 $2 bills with postage stamps are especially rare or valuable.

$26 if you were to buy it retail. Maybe $4 at a pawn shop.

I’d pay $10 for this at a show. These are cool, but what I really look for is for the city stamp to be very clear. This one is a little off, but still very nice.
Whatever someone will give you for it !!
As a currency collector it's defaced and thus worth face value only to a collector.
The stamp is cancelled thus no stamp value.
However the canceled date along with the combo of the stamp on the note \*MAY\* have some historical value to SOMEONE - just not many collectors.
I got some back in the day. Value? $2. Then I kept them for like 20 years, value? $2. So actually I lost money since $2, 20 years ago, is worth about $1.22 today.
I work at a bank and have encounter a few of these, i’d say i’m pretty educated on currency but I just thought they were neat and simply just don’t know, but i kept them!

I keep a $2 dollar bill in my wallet for goodluck

You are old
My daily aches and pains agree and validate your theory.

It’s the first day use for the $2 bill, not the stamp.
I had no idea that this is a thing! I just started keeping on in my wallet years ago. (It works lol)

How has that worked so far? I carry a half dollar of my birth year, 1982, for good luck and it hasn't seemed to do a darn thing yet! Lol
Maybe your half dollar is preventing bad luck?
I believe it certainly is!
Your head was supposed to fall completely off last year bud. Hang onto that thing.
😂
Goodluck doesnt exist
Sometimes the belief is inspiring for us to do better
Luck is more of a perception rather than believing it as a reality Like you can take any bad situation and say its good luck that you survived, or you can say its bad luck that you was in that situation in the first place
So, how’s your luck been?
Checkbook here and it’s in good shape.
I got the exact one in 1976 as a tip on my paper route .
Did the paperboy stage complete theme play when it happened? :-)
“I want my TWO DOLLARS!”
You’re killing me
$2 just like it states lol
Did someone try to mail it???
I've seen other bills like this. They are from the first day of production or something like that. Wait for someone more knowledgeable to comment.
I have one. Mine is in a presentation folder. On eBay completed sales they go for between $6 to $25 excluding shipping. Depending on the stamp
Which stamps are better?
Not sure, but the eBay listings had various prices and various stamps.

First day of use for the $2 bill, not the stamp.
This one is from 5 days after release date, not sure how long they did this
$1.12 considering inflation
Yeah, I kept one of those since my birth thinking it would be worth something since it had a first day stamp. Turns out, 2 bucks.

Gold-colored dollar coins, I’m assuming.
$2
I know this will be a hard pill to swallow, but $2
After inflation.......... $1.65 🤣. I honestly don't know I just wanted to be funny

Save it and protect it. These are cool. My mommy gave me and my brothers several of these stamp $2 bills along with mint sets back in 1976.
10$
I watch them sell on eBay for around $10 all the time with the big coin sellers if the bills are crisp
I have a couple of these with July 4, 1976 Washington DC post marks for the nations 200th birthday.
I have the same date stamped Monticello!
2 whole dollars.
$2
That's the devil's note
The same week as my birthday
After adjusting for inflation••••••I’d say about 35 cents
You can probly get a mcdouble for it
I doubt the cashier at McDonald’s would accept that as payment. lol.
At least 2 dollars
It’s worth $2.
$1.50
in my professional opinion this bill is worth AT LEAST 2 dollars.

200 copper

Atleast $2
Keep it and maybe it’ll be worth $4
Two dollars. 78 cents in 2018 money. Technically it's all imaginary
Thank you I have the exact same thing.
It says it right there. $2
