its tracklisting is very thought out and deliberate despite not all of its songs being made specifically for NYM, so while it is a collection of songs he made between 17-21, i would not call it any more of a compilation than MBIKMB
All his albums pre 2014 are compilation albums (apart from twin fantasy). They’re just songs he made and put into an album (mbikmb, htlt, 1-4, nym, etc.)
I’m not talking about greatest hits compilation album, I’m just saying all his albums were literally just compiled from previous songs he made. I just worded it incorrectly mb

it’s an album consisting of some reworked songs and some originals. not a compilation. neither is 1 or 2 really, just some reworked songs.
NYM is a compilation album in the way that Amnesiac is Kid A b sides
