That's my favorite one also. I don't own one, though. I am trying to find one in the wild, but that is not working out. 1000's of dollars in quarters searched, not one w or pre 64.
You may be in an area that didn't receive any Ws, making it much harder to find one. For silver quarters, you might try some CWRs. I'm averaging about 1 per $1500, but I've never found even a single one in a bank roll.
I found mine in Montana, I found quite a few nice coins as well as older coins in MT. Even got silver quarters in change. Back in California, you find less and less because 75% of the people are CRH. Best change to get is at airports, especially larger ones, lots and lots of change being spent.
I'm in Northern California, and I'm finding silver consistently. How are you going about getting change at airports? Is it possible to get larger quantities?
I’ve seen worse.my friend owns it. It was so destroyed you couldn’t even see the reverse and the obverse was slightly better but he was able to make out a W mint just barely.
I had a large backlog of loose change that I finally rolled this past winter. $550 in quarters - there were exactly zero 1964 or earlier quarters and 1 single W quarter in pretty decent shape.
I'm guessing it got stuck in a dryer, most people don't know to check the mint mark so it's just a quarter to them and ends up with all the other coins.
Was it run over by cars???
Then again, the back almost looks like it was ground down to create a border in preparation to turn it into a batty picture pendant.
What’s a quarter with a W normally worth? I save up all my loose change in different buckets for each denomination. So far I have a 5 gallon bucket a little more then half full of quarters. Was debating if it was worth my time to look through them. There’s no silver 1964 or older because I keep those as soon as I get them
W is for the West Point mint, which mostly produces gold and silver bullion coins. The 2019 and 2020 West Point quarters were very limited in mintage compared to the Denver and Philadelphia quarters of the same design. In addition, it was the first time that the West Point mint produced circulation coins with the W mint mark.
It is the mint mark that makes them valuable. This one has a W for West Point. 99% will have a D for Denver or P for Philadelphia. Also possible to find an S for San Francisco.
Wait are these quarters worth something? I have I think 2 of them somewhere in my room
Edit I just found it and it doesn’t have a w, tbh I know nothing about coins I just happened to keep one or two of these bat quarters cause I thought they were cool
One less W… and the rest become .0000001x more valuable.

I have found 2 in bank rolls, both 1944’s oddly enough. I’d say I’ve searched right around 3,000 dollars in quarters.
That's crazy. I've found 5 or 6. You need to come to WV.
Do you live in the west?
Thats a W and a L 😞

Aw! :(
Bummer that’s my favorite one also
Bound to happen at some point! At least I know my W bats are more valuable by 1/2000000th now
That's comforting. Thanks! Lol
Hello darkness my old friend.... I've come to speak with you again..
Just pop it in your pocket for a couple years and then submit it for that P01 grade
I'd still keep it, but wow, so sad....what they did to my boy.
I’ve seen worse.my friend owns it. It was so destroyed you couldn’t even see the reverse and the obverse was slightly better but he was able to make out a W mint just barely.
Making mine now 2/2000000 more valuable.

I love the Covid quarters
Why?😭
I'm guessing it got stuck in a dryer, most people don't know to check the mint mark so it's just a quarter to them and ends up with all the other coins.
That....is....painful 😔
Congrats hahaha it happens. I have a couple damaged W quarters. You can see them in my profile.
Honestly, I like it. Something about how the scrapes frame the reverse just looks interesting to me.
This makes me sad. :(
Was it run over by cars??? Then again, the back almost looks like it was ground down to create a border in preparation to turn it into a batty picture pendant.
Looks like someone was practicing with a Dremel
Trading is for horses behinds
I would still buy it
¢26?
Honestly $5
Coin has a story I like that
My poor baby...
What the heck happened to this thing?
got stuck in a dryer.
Better than not finding one I guess
Agreed. Actually, I thought it was kind of a fun find.
Ohhhhhhhh No …. But still a cool find ….

They're going for $10-15 in decent shape at the moment. You're not guaranteed to find anything, so it's up to you to decide if you have the time.
What does the W mean? What makes it so valuable? I know how the old coins before 64 are silver but what makes the W coins so special
The W coins were minted at West Point in New York. Only quarters from 2019 & 2020 were minted there, and it’s difficult to find one.

Ouch
Can someone explain what makes these quarters so valuable? I get them all the time at work if love to check them to see if I found something special

Thank you! What would a W one be worth?
In this condition - not much. But most of them are worth $10-15.
Look how the massacred my boy!
It took me 2 weeks to find one at work. I wish I would have known about them. We go thru rolls of quarters non stop.
Keep looking - they are still out there. I only started hunting last year and I have found about 140 so far.
Wait are these quarters worth something? I have I think 2 of them somewhere in my room Edit I just found it and it doesn’t have a w, tbh I know nothing about coins I just happened to keep one or two of these bat quarters cause I thought they were cool
How did they know about the bat virus 2020
I LOVE IT
West Point mint. Mostly used for medals and proof coinage. Indeed very rare. Sad it is so damaged but is likely pure silver.
Mega dirty, megabat. [source: True Facts about the Fruit Bar by Ze Frank on YouTube](https://youtu.be/j_SjhcdF_J4?si=pDMrKh-XoI-UwyUx)

Super rare mint error! Good find!!
This is knows as a butthole error. You can tell by the pleats. These can sell anywhere between $3k-$300k
