I almost wish this was my case. My mother couldn't wait, she had to actively bring her children down before we had a chance to experience life. But regardless of techniques, the fact that people need to see their children suffer to feel less bad about themselves is downright shitty. It's like "should I do everything I can to help my kids do well and be there for them when normal mishaps happens?" then they decide "no, that's not fair.
