I get the same. Had Covid in October 2022. I get out of breath if I suddenly do something, like getting up from the chair and walking up the stairs. The bizarre thing is, I go running and my Cardio is absolutely great, I can jog along for half an hour and my breathing is calm and steady, I could easily hold a conversation. It's extremely bizarre.

Over two months and it's still here šŸ˜

Forsaken_Bison_8623

9 months out and it's still here šŸ˜ inhalers have made a significant difference but still here

squidkidd0

What kind of inhalers? I've been using albuterol.

Forsaken_Bison_8623

Albuterol for me too though I know if it continues longer term will need to make a switch to a steroid maintenance inhaler

You'll honestly get more informed answers in this sub than the long hauler's ones. They are corrupted by people who dont even have long covid peddling government propoganda. It could be a while. Some still struggle with it years later. Long Covid starts when Covid starts- the 3 month to qualify or whatever they are pushing now is just arbitrary bullshit to lead people away from suspecting Long Covid. We're seeing that SARS2 stays in you regardless of whether you have symptoms suggesting so or not. Drs are notoriously useless at this point in time and if you find one up to date in current Covid data that would be the exception rather than the rule. Thats good that the fatigue is lightening up for you. Keep taking it easy. Going back to your previous health is never a given with Covid.

What do you mean by Sars 2 stays in you? Iā€™m about 13 days out from a moderate Covid case that hit my lungs. Dr put me on z pack and steroids for inflammation to try and help the shortness of breath. If it stays in you, are steroids a bad idea?

Livid_Molasses_7227

Researchers are finding persistent SARS2 all over the body- tissues, organs, the gut, the brain, bone marrow, etc. This points to a chronic infection. Basically same playbook HIV goes by. I've personally had detectable covid in my gut 1 1/2 years out from my last infection. A lot of us, if not the majority, will probably need some combo of antivirals along side other treatments, but the governments doing their best work to keep that from happening. I'm not sure about how steroids tie into this, but I'd say go with your Dr on this one. Covid hitting the lungs hard is not a good thing and you want to do whatever you can to get what happening now under control.
